Concept: Basically I was thinking of what it would be like to have the world split, an ocean like canopy above and the oceans below. With mankind caught in between, how would we find the stars? How would the water move? The answer: Water pillars. Giant sections of water being continually exchanged. Since the center of these pillars is rather calm, they can be used as transport for deep sea vessels to transfer into the sky, however, no surface ship can approach since the incredible force causes large and dangerous whirlpools.

I just felt... I dunno. The swan was supposed to be more puffy like clouds than liquid but it's like this digital painting was supposed to be about "cloud nine." Aha. Yeah... okay... back to my brooding.

@Arachnist: Your pic only loads less then half way on my comp(tho' I have a bad connection right now) but if it's done, I'm still acceptin' entries.

(it looks sweet by what I can see so far) It's not done yet, but I'm probably going to turn it in soon. If I can't finish it, I'll be sure to tell you. I don't know why it's only loading halfway though...

I think of goldfish, when I think of water, so I wanted to add goldfish...and liquid clouds made me think of...a drink from the clouds. So I came up with this surreal/realism ((^w^ If that's possible)) of a dreamlike place where you can drink from the clouds. Apparently the drinks can be hot too, and you occasionally get a fish with your cup... By the way, the lineart of the background is meant to be simple, to add to that dreamlike, carefree quality. Edit: If it doesn't load, tell me, and I'll try to upload it again.
