Yanvir giggled at the sound and withdrew his head, looking at Berra. "You fun. I like you. Want go play 'Tendo?"

Berra's ears perked a bit as she cocked her head curiously. "Tendo?" she questioned. It ghosted around in her mind for a moment as she tried to place it. It rang a bell, and she didn't know why.
....NINtendo? Did he mean video games? She'd watched her father and Meka play with them, but had never done so herself. Still, the offer was very tempting.
"I'd love to, Yanvir....only....I'm kinda supposed to go home in a hurry." she said, wincing. Under other circumstances she would have been happy to stay and play, but it made her ears ring just imagining the tirade she'd be in for if she stayed out till dawn playing video games with someone she'd just met. "Maybe I could come back another time after tonight?" she quickly offered. "I could bring more candy! And beads too!"

Yanvir's little face scrunched up unhappily and tears formed in his eyes. "Noo, not leave Yanvir! Stay! Yanvir have many games, much toys, and now pretties too." He gave the satchel of beads a quick shake. "Even have plenty candy, and can share! Really!"

Berra felt her resolve crumbling as he looked ready to cry. People being upset was one of her biggest weaknesses...especially if she was potentially the cause of it. She looked at Yanvir for a long moment and then down at the shelf, rocking back on her heels a bit as she folded her hands behind her back.
"Well..." she muttered thoughtfully, a scale somewhere in her mind teetering unevenly between her father's anger and Yanvir's upset. ....Talon would understand, wouldn't he...? Sure...there was nothing wrong with making new friends, right? He'd even told her he wouldn't stand in the way of her having a social life.
"....okay." she nodded, a smile resurfacing. "I guess they won't mind if I'm a little late."

"GREAT!" Yanvir lept to his feet, dropping the satchel onto the shelf and quickly forgetting it. He took Berra by the hand. "Okay, what toy you like best? I have all toys ever!" His free hand gesticulated wildly to illustrate this point. "And also have lots candy. Want some?"

The little earth feien was a bit bewildered as she found herself in his grip and she tried, for a moment to follow Yanvir's wildly-gesturing hand before giving up. Half of the toys he had, she'd never seen or even imagined before. Well...at least it meant he'd never get bored. Not to mention that he'd never have to leave this place.
"W-What toy do you like best...?" she offered, deciding she could content herself with just about anything. "We could still play Nintendo if you want!"
She did her best to let the awkward feeling roll off her back, despite the fact her mind wouldn't stop nagging her that perhaps she shouldn't have been so quick to agree.

"Yanvir no have a 'Tendo," said Yanvir, looking surprised, as if he expecter her to somehow know that. "No have tebision. Use have 'puter, but it live far away."
Cocking his head to the side, Yanvir thought a moment, then gave a quick nod. "Do have most favorite! Is little copper. Go up in air. But Yanvir break it. Crash on ceiling. Look!" He pointed up at what might have been a scratch mark on the ceiling, or just a random element of the rough-hewn walls.

"Oh..." hadn't he just asked if she'd wanted to play Nintendo? Oh well. She looked up at the ceiling of the room, having a bit of trouble seeing what he was indicating, or if he was indicating anything at all for that matter or just pointing to the crash site in general.
"Really? That's too bad..." she said sympathetically in regard to the loss of his favorite toy. Ever helpful, she added. "My bonded has a television and a Nintendo, maybe you could come play ours sometime?"

Yanvir immediately dropped her hand and leapt halfway across the shelf in the blink of an eye. "Gah! Yanvir no want do that! Yanvir just get AWAY from humans, no go back! No trust bonded. Bonded humans, humans kill trees, trees home fairies, therefore humans kill fairies and are bad!" He cowered behind a purple stuffed hippo plushie slightly bigger than himself.

"Okay...! Okay! No humans!" Berra said hurriedly, holding her hands up in a show of peace, watching him cower behind the plushie. She hesitated and then approached it, hovering up to peer over the top, her pigtails hanging in her face a bit. She didn't think Miss Karma was bad at all, nor was Miss Wasa or Mr. Youko, but something told her arguing would get her nowhere.
She decided perhaps it might be best to change the subject altogether and hopefully get him to calm himself in the process. "Do lots of people come to you for quests...?" she asked gently. "It must be hard being so important."

Once more, Yanvir's motions were practically a flash in the air. He jumped out form behind the hippo and stood with his hands on his hips and his chest thrust out with pride. Behind him, his three tails twitched back and forth. "Yanvir is very important indeed! In fact Yanvir is GREAT and MIGHTY and is even better than Juli-fooly. For this reason, many peoples has came to Yanvir looking for great quest, and Yanvir give many quest. If you want quest, you must pay Yanvir fee."

"Juli-f--" she started to ask him who he was talking about and wisely quieted herself instead. He must have been talking about Julius and judging by the unkind nickname, it seemed he might have had a rivalry with the other ancient. ....and matters such as that were none of her business.
She didn't doubt him about his power, though....for all of his oddness in behavior, he -did- look impressive and he certainly moved much faster than she'd ever seen anyone move before.
Nodding in understanding, she smiled. At least...she THOUGHT she understood. She wasn't sure if the reiteration of the fee was simply part of his explanation or if he'd forgotten already that they'd struck a deal over the items she'd brought.
"I'm glad you like beads, in that case." she said pleasantly, looking over her shoulder at the abandoned satchel briefly. "How do you decide who goes where when you give a quest?" she inquired, looking back to Yanvir with a curious gleam in her yellow eyes.

Yanvir went from his heroic boasting position to a relaxed reclining one, draping himself across the purple plushie. "Oh, that easy. Yanvir just think about where item might be, send feien there. It pretty easy. Yanvir only know items on northwest though, if that okay? Also cover coast, will teleport if need." He looked at her with a sort of bright curiosity.

Berra met the look with a warm smile. "Sure! Northwest should be okay!" she chirped, nodding. She imagined there would be a lot of travel involved no matter where he sent her, after all, and she decided she'd rather not put him out more than needed.

"Good." Yanvir gave a short nod and seemed to realize something as he looked at Berra, idly flipping one of his tails around in his left hand. "Though isn't you little young for go out quest? Quest in forest, there many dangerous. Animals and bad weather. Hawks worst, they good hunter."
