"I KEEL YOU!" went the voice, it's pitch falling just a tad. It was still several scales away from being tolerable. "YANVIR KEEL!"

Grappling with the thing on him, Maq managed to pick out "Yanvir" among the other head-busting noises it was making. This was Yanvir? ******** hell, what had he gotten himself into?
Half shouting, Maq attempted to calm the guy down a bit. "Whoa, whoa! You're making my ears bleed!" And was shredding Maq's wing a bit, as well, but that'd be tended to later. "I didn't mean to scare you, really!"

Yanvir continued screaming as loud as his lungs were able, "Then why you sneak in Yanvir house!?" He stamped his foot against the ground, trio of tails thrashing madly through the air. His little face was scrunched up with fury.

Maq held his arms out, palms facing Yanvir, in an attempt to show he planned no harm to the little guy. For once, he almost wished he wasn't quite as tall as he was. "I came to ask---" He paused, realizing he still needed to shout in order to be heard above the racket Yanvir was continuing to make. "I came to ask you about a quest! That's it!"
Maq was starting to have second thoughts about this. This guy Yanvir... Was he completely right in the head?

Suddenly Yanvir shot up to his feet, bouncing off the floor. "A quest! A quest!" he exclaimed, but at a normal volume for exclamations. "You haff come seeking a QUEST! Then you is in right place, for Yanvir is great giver of quests, give much quest, many quest, all time." Yanvir nodded several times to reinforce the validity of his words.

Maq smiled crookedly, mostly out of relief. This was a *much* easier state of emotion to deal with. "Great giver of quests, eh? Good to know." He relaxed his stance, arms coming down to his sides. "Really didn't know where else to go. Think you got something for a big oaf like me?"

Rubbing his hands together, Yanvir grinned, displaying fangs. "Oh, yes, Yanvir have very good quest, but that depend on if you bring Yanvir very good payment." Once more he nodded several times. It seemed the ancient had trouble sitting still.

Payment? Maq looked around the room they were in, trying to think of what this guy might like. At a loss, he finally asked, "Sure thing. Anything in particular you want?"

"YES!" beamed Yanvir, grinning so broadly it seemed his face might crack in half and fall to the floor. "Yanvir is wanting item very special, is most special, it most wanting. You is wanting knowing what Yanvir is wanting, yes?" He practically crooned the last bit at Maquinar. Yanvir's eyes were alight with the familiar emotion of greed.

Okay, now Yanvir had that look in his eyes that Quantel got when staring at the bloom. The "Cool" meter went right back to "Really ******** Creepy". Maq nodded slowly, saying, "Well, yeah... Only fair, isn't it? I get a good quest, you get a good payment."

"Then you bring me ten Celine shinies," pronounced Yanvir, crossing his arms and nodding. "No, twelve Celine shinies!"

"Twelve. Celine. Shinies." Maq repeated the request slowly, almost as if he wasn't entirely sure what he had just heard Yanvir said. Rather than admit he had no ******** clue as to what a "Celine shiny" was, Maq nodded. "Sure thing. But what're you going to do with twelve Celine shinies?"
With any luck, Yanvir's explanation would give him a hint.

Damn good clue; Maq was rather glad he thought to ask. Of course, he'd hate to have to leave here, go get these twelve shiny things, and come back to find Yanvir had forgotten him or some s**t... Best make sure the guy would remember Maq, and in a fonder way than "The twit who woke me up."
"Guess I'm just not as smart as you, Yanvir. You are an Ancient, after all," Maq drawled, knowing that flattery was always the best way to be remembered. And it didn't hurt that it was rather true, since Maq imagined any Ancient, no matter how loony, would know more than he did. "I'll get you your shinies, no problem. Celine ones. You want me to go now?"

Yanvir took a deep breath, pleased at the compliment. "You's right, and Yanvir be sure give you REALLY good quest for knowing Yanvir is smarter than Julie-fooly, is smartest of all feien and bestest! So go get Celine shinies and Yanvir give you good quest! Go!"
