Yeah, The Wall had the lyrics but the music wasn't the full effort that we had seen Floyd pull off before.

Venus Loon The Wall probably is the most overrated. Dark Side of the Moon is right up there too though. I mean, it's good, but really... Some people act like it's the only album Pink Floyd's ever done. stare Dark Side is a great album, it's still one of my favorites, and is probably one of the first albums to get me interested in music. It is overrated, but it's still a masterpiece. Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, and Wish You Were Here are all better albums musically.

After reading all of this stuff. I, in my opinion, consider The Wall not overrated but a popular album mainly because it was infact mainstream, due to film. To me DSotM is not exactly popular but, I warn this is what I think, that it is seen as overrated because of the shirt. I have only seen two PF shirts. DSotM and WYWH. DSotM is probably popular because the album cover is easy to identify to many hardcore PF fans and well companies saw this and decided to put it on a shirt. It sold. Okay what exactly was I say.

SeargentPeppers Dark Side had good instrumental and lyrics, it's good, even though it is overrated. Dark Side also had Alan Parsons. He's responsible for most of the things that made that album innovative.

phriedphishphan The Wall is not a bad album. If it was by any other band it might their greatest masterpiece. But compared to Pink Floyd's other works, it doesn't compare. (Though it is significantly better than "The Final Cut" or "Momentary Lapse of Reason") The problem with the Wall is Roger Waters was starting to get way too much creative control. There was way too much emphasis on lyrics and story, and not enough on the actual music. Hey! While I have to agree with The Final Cut, there's nothing wrong with Momentary Lapse of Reason. It's very under-rated.

I know that the wall and Dsotm is over rated, but I only have been able to hear those two. crying And my mom used to have the radio promo album of DSOTM till it got stolen by a friend. I have The Wall on tape.

I might have been guilty of it. ok, here. I love Pink Floyd. I love the Wall. But that isntthe only one i love. I listen to many genres of music so I like the Wall's feel and DSotM. But I listen to all of their albums.
What I really hate about the newbie Pink Floyd fans is when they screw up and say "I love Pink Floyd, my favorite album is the white album!" gonk scream stressed rolleyes

Ultima Squall The Wall!! I hate people who say "I love Pink Floyd, they're so awesome, we don't need no education, bla bla bla". Idiots, Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2 SUCKS. If you think you like Pink Floyd and your favorite album is The Wall, then you are not a true Pink Floyd fan because The Wall is not the same as any other album they've made. And you all should know that I like Pink Floyd more than oxygen... I'm just sick of people who wear Dark Side Of The Moon shirts and rave about "we don't need no education". They're idiots and they should all die along with vegetarians and christian fundamentalists... This thread reminds me of a skit in Kids in the Hall where a guy walks into a record shop looking to buy a Doors album because he likes this one particular song, and Bruce (who plays the shopkeeper) tells him "you're not a real Doors fan. If you were a real fan, this would be the only Doors song you wouldn't like!" Anyway, I like Another Brick in the Wall just fine, although it's certainly not one of their better songs. Why not pick on a real crappy song like "Take Up thy Stethoscope" or "Seamus"?
