The man turned, facing the new girl, and giving a knowing glance to the dark lord, and a nod. Slowly he walked forward, towards the girl who was one of those holy people, apparently. He shuffled his steps, just a little, barely noticable from a normal gait. His arms were outstreched towards her, and his voice came out low and slow... "Braaaaaaaaains."
The man's left hand retracted into his pant's pocket, the pocket seemed to bulge slightly as his hand started to draw out. Oddly enough, he held a foot long trout in his hand, a quite old one, from the smell of it. He twirled it in his hand, over his head. His mouth opened, and out came the cry, "STEALTH ATTACK!" as he flung the old smelly trout right at the girl's face.

The black gelding, Sasha, turned toward the woman as she ducked behind the lampost. The horse looked at her for a moment, then, satisfied that she wasn't carrying anything to eat, went back to staring around at other things.
Merrick, on the other hand, didn't notice her until Shade said something. He wasn't quite sure what she was going on about, and he had just opened his mouth to reassure her that they were a perfectly legitamite business when the zombie flung his trout.
"I say!" he shouted at the dark-lord as the camoflauged zombie shuffled towards her. "Can't you turn it off or something? These things are supposed to be household safe, aren't they?"
If this kept up much longer, he would have to step in to defend the poor girl; his honor demanded it. Nervously, Merrick reached his hand into one of his pockets, fingering one of the most useful items he had brought with him...conventional wisdom dictated it would burn the zombie.

Things were quickly spiraling to the point where they were nearly out of control, a fact that made Shade quite nervous. "Well, the thing is m'lord, we have programmed each zombie with a non-lethal self-defense system, that activates automaticaly when the zombie feels it is being threatened, as in the unfortunate scene that has just occurred. Give me aone moment, and I'll try and sort this out..."
Hoping that would keep the noble from doing anything rash, Shade went over to help the woman--if she reported this to anyone, he might very well have the forces of light brought down upon him, and that was always regrettable.
Stepping in between the ninja(?)-'zombie' and Chyre. "I'm afraid that there must have been some kid of misunderstanding here...we produce zombies as cheap labor, and occasionally pets. All military zombies tend to be produced by our chief rival--the Necrotech Corperation."

Chyre was just about to add more to her oh-so-gallant speech when she was slapped in the face with a trout.
An old trout.
".. you cheated!" She stuttered, making a face at the smell and furiously trying to wipe the slime off her face. "Stupid zombie! I'll -- "
She paused mid-wipe, staring at the other man as he explained something to her. Something which was still confusing. ".. I've never heard of that company before," she murmured, brow furrowing. "You sell them as pets? Is that safe?"

Their programming is very strict, and allows for no permanent damage to befall those around them!"

"I .. didn't know .. that zombies had.. ..programming," she said slowly, raising an eyebrow. ".. let me guess," she continued, a slight grin forming, "they're special zombies, right? Right?"

The man turned towards Merrick, seeing that Mr. Dark Lord was keeping the trouted lady busy. His hands were stuff in his pockets, and he walked towards the lordling with a shambling gait, a soft song hummed as he stepped along. His eyes looked dull and glassy, his jaw was hanging slack, and he stared up at the stuffy looking man.
...
He said nothing, just stood there, as though he was waiting for something from the Dark Lord, or from this stuffy ill looking little rich kid.

For a moment, Merrick relaxed as the dark lord seemed to be keeping the zombie away from the innocent maiden. He was about to rush over to the woman, ask if she was alright, and offer her a handkerchief to wipe the last of the slime off her features when the zombie started coming for him.
For a time, Merrick glanced back and forth between the dark lord and the zombie, keeping his hand on the object in his pocket, but restraining himself from drawing it forth. He didn't want to activate the defense system; it would take ages to get the smell of fish out of his clothes!
Finally, the zombie stopped. Merrick stared at him. The zombie stared back.
"Erm...hello, there."
From behind Merrick, his horse leaned forward, sniffing the ragged man to see if he had any good food on him.

Nodding quickly, Shade took whatever explanation it seemed might work. "Err--Yes--of course! These zombies are about as special as they get..."
Suddenly, and idea came to him. "Perhaps you would like to come with us and see?"
That should make sure noe of this was reported...

The 'zombie' continued to stare at Merrick while the horse snuffled at him. It would have picked up the scent of the fish, most definatley, as it was overpowering, still alittle of the slime left on his left hand which had trouted the weird holy girl.
Slowly, he blinked three times, then turned around, shuffling off towards the dark lord, his hands going back into his pockets, and his posture slumping as he awaited 'orders' from the shadowy one.

She was just about to agree to tag along just to see what the hell this was all about, but something stopped her. Wasn't this how girls got kidnapped or something? And.. now that she thought about it, she wasn't getting any funny zombie signals from the fish-throwing one. She eyed them for a moment, then pointed to the man with the horse. "He's not a special zombie too, is he?"

The 'zombie' snapped to attention, standing tall, his arms at his sides, and facing the strange girl with the Dark Lord, "Model Number X7ZT45-S. Code Name: Steve. Manufactured and programmed for Espionage, Infiltration, and Assassination, along with pie eating and house labor," he barked out at her in a most militaristic style, standing completely still even after his speech, with his dark eyes glued on the strange woman.

Startled by 'Steve's reply, Shade decided just to go along with it. "Well, of course he is! As you can see, he's a state of the art model..."

She was quiet for a moment. From experience, most people named.. Steve weren't that threatening. Besides, she was up for a couple of laughs. "Fine," she sighed, relaxing slightly and lowering her staff. "I'll go with you to.. wherever you're going. ..where are we going, anyway?"

Steve started walking back towards the lordling in his slow, lumbering gait. His eyes looked dull and glassy, his hands were stuff in his pockets. He seemed to be staring at nothing at all, as he walked towards Merrick and his little horse.
Slowly, a smile split the 'zombie's face. His hands slowly drew out of his pockets, his hands were clenched around something, some round object, though it was nearly impossible to tell what from the angle of the lordling, Shade, or new girl.
His hands opened slightly. Two small, one inch diameter sphere fell quickly, one from each fist. They slammed into the street, cracking on the pavement, the sound of shattering ceramic coming with a cry from 'Steve', "NINJA BLINDING TECHNIQUE NUMBER 573!"
All around him, the world seemed to explode into a ball of bright, blinding light, searing the eyes of anyone foolish enough to keep them open. The light seemed to even burn through closed eyes, turning the blackness inside the lids into a bright red that dared you to open. The light lasted for 5.78 seconds, and while it lasted, there was the sound of snickering coming from 'Steve'.
When the light stopped, he was gone. Though where he stood, a large, black, round ball, about 1 foot in diameter sat. A quick check would show that Merrick had been relieved of several items, items with a high value, and a nice little sack, which was carrying Shade's investment.
The ball moved. A plate drew back, facing Merrick de Seery. It had a timer on it. It was at 0:05. There was a soft, sweet, almost sickening feminine voice coming from it, "Five seconds until complete detonation. Have you considered escaping yet?" The timer started to count down...
