All small towns are like that. I live in Dupont and the cops here are assholes. They don't even give you a warning they just give you the $101 speeding ticket for going a 1 over the speed limit.

I would like to point out that in rain, you should always drive a little more carefully. If you hit even the smallest puddle, you can skid, hydroplane, or not get traction and rear-end someone or run a light.
In any kind of weather other than ideal, you should always break sooner than you need to, and if your car can, let it slow down rather than using your breaks.

But driving more carefully doesn't mean you have to drive 30 mph slower than you would normally. Unless we're talking Typhoon.

I have to rant about all the people who fail to use there turn signal at all. They don't even look at the lane they are moving into...

I've had a aunt that moved here comment on how Washington must be a turn-signal optional state.
Anyways, here's a tip for any out-of-towners, including rural Washingtonians: Seattle has a TON of one-way streets, so plan your route accordingly.
My mother hated driving in Seattle, so she had to get a Tomtom (GPS unit).

Haha...man...old people. Everyday whenever I'm late to work (in the Ballard area of Seattle), I get stuck behind some old Norwegian person.

Well I wrote something. Then lost it. So now its just a recap : D
I soooo agree about both the people going under the speedlimit, and not using the turn signal. Both of these are hazards, and cause time delays, and issues for the drivers around you. Be considerate. USE THEM PROPERLY!!!! This especially applies when its one lane, no passing roads and people are going at least ten under!!! O_O burning_eyes Its not fun being late cause you are to idiotic to go the speed limit!
I also agree with the headlight in rain, partial darkness, and bad weather conditions. Though you don't need it if its well lit, and you aren't going through heavly shadowed areas, please use it for all other times. Fog, early morning, late evenging, dark, rain, snow, anything else that might make it hard to see you. Please, k, THANKS.
However, with the going faster thing? There are MANY places where cops will bust you for speeding, even if those around you are. You don't even have to be that high, or can be in a reasonable situation and they will still try to bust you. I got pulled over in sultan when I was going 45, and had about ten feet untill the 35 zone I was in turned into a 55. Even though this is what my driving teacher TAUGHT me I should be doing. (going 45 about when I reach the 55 sign, so i'm going about even in both) Police will get you, even for stupid things like that.
