Nodding at Loki's words, Itsuki looked around. "The forest is beautiful from up here."

Loki nodded. "And that's why every day is worth fighting for. All of this." He looked back up at the setting sun in concern. "Come on, we should be going back to the lake. I'm not keen on the idea of going back down the mountain in the dark."

Rae walked through the snow, examining the area carefully. She felt like she was being tugged along, dragged somewhere. Cautious, she continued ot walk. Soon, she reached a large frozen lake. Curious now that the tugging sensation stopped, she sat down and looked across the lake.

Loki smelled another fox near to them. He shrugged, and decided ot wait. He doubted this fox presented any danger. Getting himself and Itsuki down the mountain safely was more important.

Itsuki looked around. Going to the mountain, Itsuki had no chance of seeing the surroundings because Loki ran so fast. Now, she examined the place carefully.

Rae looked up and saw two other foxes come up...including an Elder. Submissive, she looked down, refusing to make eye contact. She really didn't want to cause any trouble.

Itsuki noticed a new yellow and green kit in the forest in front of them. Running up to her, Itsuki said, "Hi!"

Loki chuckled, wlaking up with Itsuki to the new kit. "Hello there." He smiled kindly, the little kit seemed terrified. He bowed his head and said, "I'm Loki." He gestured to Itsuki and laughed. "And this hyper ball of energy is Itsuki."
Rae looked up, slightly more comfortable. Loki wasn't angry, which was good. Blinking in confusion at Itsuki, she said softly. "Rae."

"Nice to meet you, Rae!" Itsuki exclaimed. "Do you want to go back to the lake with us?"

Rae looked up in amazement. No one had ever really invited her to come with them. Looking down again, she murmured. "Sure."
Loki looked at Rae in concern. Somewhere along the way, this kit had been hurt emotionally. Sighing to himself, he smiled at her. "Come on. You look like you could use some rest."

Itsuki laughed and ran ahead of them, toward the lake. Then she turned back at Rae and Loki, "So, where did you come from, Rae?"

Rae looked up again, unconciously getitng closer to the Elder. She couldn't say hwy, but she trusted him fully. "Huh? Oh...I'm not sure, really. The other side of the mountain I guess."

Itsuki looked back at the mountain she and Loki came from. "Oh..." After walking a bit further, Ituski jumped onto the log, and then off again, tumbling down the hill towards the lake.

Rae blinked and then asked Loki quietly, "Does she always do that?" She was jealous of Itsuki; she wished she could open up like that.
Loki laughed and nodded. "Give it time. You'll find yourself doing the same things."
