"Do you get lonely out here by yourself, or do the others of your coalition come visit you?" She asked as they walked together. It might have made a younger Dimu giggle, the thought of her walking with a male, and a cheetah no doubt. But this was nice. It was a bit of a relief from when she met Chenza, and the poor wild dog thought Dimu was going to eat her. That was hard to convince the wild dog she would not eat her or her children.
She wandered if this charming cheetah ahd a child, or children. She would not ask though, she assumed he did not, Dimu would assume he'd have any children he'd fathered with him if he had indeed had any. It would be a wonderful thing though, to have children. That was somethign Dimu had always wanted, but lookign at her life now, she did't know if she'd be able to have them. You had to settle in the same place for as long as the cubs were too young to travel. It would be hard if Dimu ever did have cubs. And what if they refused to travel with her, what if they wanted to live in one place forever?

"Officially I am one of the few who patrol the whole boarder rather than just my own...but I don't meet anyone often on my rounds. Nearly everyone else has a family but me."
It had been a long time since Uri had walked and talked with anyone like this, let alone a pretty female. It was true she wasn't a cheetah - that would have been too perfect - but she was pleasing, pleasant, and seemed to enjoy his company as much as he enjoyed hers. He had hopes they would become friends and that she'd visit often. Any spark of attraction that was set off by those eyes...or the way she moved...was snuffed out quickly. Friendship first, Uri decided, that was the way to romance well.
"I used to have a daughter, who come by to see me. A child of the heart, a foundling, called Kari. She's gone to live with her mate, far away, now so I suppose I'll be alone more." Another quick pang. He'd miss the pink cheetah. "Do you have family anywhere, my dear?"

"No... but I am looking for some other lions like myself near the crator... I just need to find it, and then them... so, this Kari... who is her mate? Did you aprove of him?" Dimu knew that if she had children, blood related or adopted, she would most certainly be very weary about any males interested in ehr daughter, or daughters. She would insist she meet the male before anty formal courting was to begin.
This would be a friendship Dimu would hold dear. This cheetah was charming and kind. Many otehr she had met had been one or the other, this one also seemed t be deep and was able to open up to Dimu, and she doubted he could do to many others.

"The crator? I've heard of there but never been. As for Kari's mater, I wish I'd be able to meet him..." Uri sighed. He trusted Kari's judgement entirely but he did regret never being at least introduced to her mate. The grey cheetah wasn't even entirely sure he knew his name! It was partly why he'd been so depressed. He knew that love could over come species, that wasn't the problem. But he did worry about her.
"He was a lion, like yourself, and they've gone to live in a pride by the sea together. They left so quickly I was lucky to be able to say goodbye to her - but I know she'll be alright. She's a smart girl. So who waits for you at the crator?"

"A cheetah and a lion? I've only heard about a mated pair like that once, but not recently... so the species are intermingling more commonly now, I see..." She said, mostly to herself as she pondered the fact. It seemed she was hearing about many odd couples around lately. She did not know if half were true, but this one seemed real enough.
"No one waits, but I was told of a group of lions looking to start a pride there... I also heard they are looking for someone like me to fill a position in one of the houses of the pride... if they let me roam, and it does not conflict the job description, I may stay..." She said as she glanced around, taking in the view. Maybe she could go ask someone in the pridelands where the crator was, and then if this was on the way, she could visit Uri again.
"Oh, I don't suppose you mind me staying the night do you... I haven't been able to take a day off like this in a while... I do enjoy your company, but if I am intruding by asking to stay, I will seek refuage with the pridelanders tomarrow, and start walking tonight..."

"Really? I've only known of three mixed pairs, no more. I thought it was rare, though...never been entirely sure why."
When someone had a good personality and was attractive, why worry about such a trivial thing - unless they were a dog or a hyena. Maybe birds. Yes, Uri wasn't sure birds were...so long as it was a cat! And an adult. And didn't call his lovely fur freakish. So long as all those boxes were ticked, love was love as far as Uri was concerned.
"You're welcome to stop here tonight. Goodluck with finding this group - hopefully it will be a good job and home from the road for you."

"Yes... I agree, I do believe, though, that many groups think of such pairings as taboo... I believe love is love though..." Dimu was not necessarily looking for love, it would be nice to come across, but she could live with out. Love would conflict with her plans. It would try and hold her down, and she could not let that happen...
"Well thank you... I do hope I can fufill their expectations... and thanks for letting me stop over... I apreciate it... so, besides giving unexpected visitors tours of your territory, what else is there to do around here?"

"Oh it's a life of leasure. I have no mate to entertain nor cubs to teach, so when I'm not patrolling..." Uri shrugged. He kept his fur clean as clean could be, he kept himself as well fed as the passing herds allowed and he wasn't very sociable with the others. Nothing much.
"There's not much else to show you."

"I imagine being in one place all alone gets rather boring... well... if you think of something to show me, or if you need help with anything... I might go sit under that tree we passed.." She turned and took one step away from him, but paused in her steps. She turned to face Uri again and smiled.
"I'll see you later then..." A na, seemed apealing, and she could do with one anyways. She wasn't tired, it was not often that she was able to be this social with other creatures, and it was a rather interesting experience, she needed a nap, to sleep on it, and make sure it wasn't some dream.
