By the time Julian and Eau arrived the ceremony would have begun. With it's distinctive celebratory music and all the pomp and circumstance one would expect at a temple. It was much like a small festival, occasions like this were important because of how rare they were in these times.
A pair of the younger priestesses would've greeted them at the entrance and when they went in, the main hall would seem far larger that it had from the outside. High vaulted ceilings and plenty of windows to allow the sunlight in.
A few of the younger maidens danced and gradually more filtered in, some joining in the dance others seating themselves on the dais, waiting.
Gradually the current song dropped off and another began. This was the dance of the older maidens. Those taking their final oaths this day.

Julian and Eau find a pair of seats and sit down, watching the maidens dance.
Eau stares in awe at how they moved so gracefully. He was easily captivated by dancers, seeing as his Caretaker had been a dancer for his Mothers' court.
Julian chuckles and grins with delight, head wings shuffling as he watches everything around him.

The older priestesses drifted in, already in the rhythm of the dance, Joirune was among this group. It was much smaller than the other group, another sign of the time, fewer and fewer were willing to join the temple and stay.
This groups' dance was much more elaborate than the first had been. They danced in time with the music perfectly. It almost seemed at points like they glided across the open floor.
Joirune caught sight of the Rabbit as she twirled and she nearly lost her balance. Her heart started to race, but she did her best to ignore it and continue the dance.

Julian spots Joirune and glances at Eau, stifling a snicker as he sees the rabbits look.
Eau was utterly awestruck now as he watched no one but Joirune dance about the floor. His face was already flushed as he continued to watch her.

Joirune was more grateful than anyone when the dance ended. The last thing she wanted to do was to make a fool of herself on a day like today. But, she couldn't get her heart to stop racing. She put a hand to her chest, over her heart and tried to take a deep breath. Her cheeks were slightly flushed.

Eau shook his head, trying to clear his mind. He looks down at his feet, slightly embarrassed that he'd watched her like he had. God, it must be so obvious to her how he felt now. When he looked up, his face was relatively normal.

The younger priestesses time to take vows came and went. Joirune sat off to the side of the dais, her eyes filled with pride, she her little sisters. But inwardly she began to question her own path. What she had seen on the outside world, it was strangely fascinating even though parts of it were unnerving to her. The people she'd met had started to mean so much to her.
Her thoughts drifted to Eau again, and found herself scanning the crowd for him again. Her feelings when it came to him were different, not bad, but she didn't understand them.

Eau started to fidget in his seat, something he never did. He was starting to get nervous as Joirunes' turn started to come closer and closer.
Julian rests a hand on the rabbits' shoulder, smiling softly, "Just do what your heart tells you. That's all I'm going to say." He returns his hand to himself and looks back ahead.
He was puzzled by what the younger anthro had meant, and was left trying to figure it out. He finally realized it just as Joirunes' turn was next.

A priestess who was her senior called to her, and that brought Joirune out of her confused daze. My turn, already? She swallowed hard and managed to get to her feet without much fuss and made her way to the center of the dais, before the grand statue of Apollus.
The first part of the oath was silent, between Joirune and the heavens alone. The second was given by a senior priestess, to which she only had to confirm her commitments. The third part was spoke by Joirune herself.
Her heart started racing again, and feeling as if it would jump up into her throat. It took her a moment to find her voice.
"I, Joirune, cast aside my birth name, my heritage and-" Her voice faltered for just a moment. Why was she hesitating?

Eau watches Joirune walk up to the dais and begin speaking. He hears her falter and jumps up from his seat, rushing up to the steps of the dais before he could think of what he was going to say to her.
Julian smirks and leans back in his seat, not stopping the older anthro at all.

Joirune was kneeling before the statue still, all her weight resting on her hands. "I can't do this. I just can't." She muttered, looking over her shoulder having heard a crash and hurried footsteps toward her. "Eau?" Her expression shifted to one of half panic.

Eau stops at the dais, closer to her than anything. His breathing was barely affected, but his face was flushed. He didn't see anything but Joirune, "I can't let you do this, Joirune. I-I...." he closes his eyes and sighs, his shoulders slumping slightly and his ears drooping. He had noticed her panicked look and it threw him off.
Julian tilts his head to the side, silvery grey locks falling into his face. Come on, Eau. You can do it. Just tell her already. Even being the son of a magician, he had no powers, so he couldn't give the bunny added encouragement.

"You'll get in trouble..." Joirune murmured, her cheeks flushed.
This was certainly causes a stir, such a thing was unheard of, many of the temple folk and visitors started whispering. A few of the younger priestesses had darted out of the Rabbit's way and were perched on the dais, not to far off. The older priestess stared for a moment, before her expression relaxed and she smiled. She had a feeling Joirune wouldn't have been able to go through with it.

Eau sighs and shakes his head, "I don't give a damn alright?" He reaches up and rubs his face, raking his hair back afterwards, "Ever....ever since I first ran into you that day you were looking for the clinic - I can't stop thinking about you. It wasn't until....recently when I realized something." He blushes and looks directly at her, "Joirune, I can't let you become a full Priestess because I've..." his voice trails off and he takes a deep breath, looking away for a moment, "Because I've fallen in love with you."
Julian grins and folds his arms across his chest loosely, "Atta boy, Eau."

"In love with....me...?" Joirune repeated his words, though with a hint of uneasiness in her voice. Her cheeks reddened further. Is that what this different feeling is, for him?
"I don't know love, Eau...I barely know of anything at all. Would you teach me...." She swallowed hard. By now she had turned, putting a hand to his cheek, hoping he would look at her again. "Would you teach me, what is...love?"
