Decora is a really... bright, fruitsy, vibrant style.
They usually have ALOT of hairclips and accessories.
That was the joke with the picture I posted on the first page. It was just a bunch of random hairclips. Alot of the American Decora girls that try the style, don't always get it down.
Alot of people compare Decora to the "Ravers" or "Kandy Kids" of the late 90's. I disagree. Decora, if you look at it, is for the most part coordinated fairly well. The Ravers just seem to be... all over the place.

(your joke on the first page made me rofl big time too) my 23 cents I say, I think the only way you could do a decora lolita is with prints (that still maintain lolita shape and modesty) and to NOT go overbaord with the acessories (like decora loves to do) but still be keen to add some that add color. Ive never seen this done though, but It sounds like an ok idea if it must be done.

1. I lol'ed at your reference to kandi kids "of the late 90's". This is from a kandi kid. Kandi kids don't necessarily even care if they match, or look fashionable. We just pick what we like, what's too big, whats colorful, what can accommodate all types of weather and feels trippy to the touch. razz Decora.Doll But I'm sure that the girls dressed in Decora aren't tripping on Ecstacy and screaming "PLUR" evry few moments. 2. This was my silly attempt at decora last year. not quite enough acessories but it's colorful. decoraUnfortunately this was the only time I took pictures but everyone kpt telling me it was too raver. While I love the kandi kid fashion; I'm a junglist at heart (we prefer jungle camo to the bright colors). I've never come across a kandi kid that didn't love me in lolita though.

Haha, I do not know much about drugs. My bad. XD
I agree, but having people saying it 500 times a minute, I'm sooo tired of hearing it. Dx AUGH.
Especially those "raves" at anime conventions. Srsly? you're not a raver, this is not a rave. It's a hotel ballroom and they're playing the numa numa song.

My friend and I hosted a fake rave for her B-day. We got a bunch of black lights, UV stuff and bright clothing [Her hair falls made the room light up. xD ] and played techno while dancing on the pool table. Twas fun.
XD I'm going to attempt Decora-Lolita once.. But people might be like 'Whos that frilly ball of colour rolling down the hall way?' xD
I personally think Decora is adorable. I like bright things...odd for being the 'Goth' that I am. [Sarcastic. I'm not goth. >.<;]

You would be surprised by how many ravers like anime, and go to those "raves." Since the DJs usually play happy hardcore. o.o <3 I've been to plenty of Ballroom Suite raves. They're not too uncommon. And Numa rox. XD I hate the PLUR whores who don't live by it crying EGL: When I show up to the DnB/Jungle/Hardcore rooms at raves, totally decked out in kandi up past my elbows, wearing a pink fuzzy hat and care-bear parachute pants- the Junglists turn heads. And snicker. And wonder if I got lost on my way to the Trance room. It's hilarious, since I usually wear only camo/black/jeans in day-to-day life. XP Just a small thought here: All three of Lolita (At least, sweet lolitas in general) , Decora, and Kandi Kid fashions are focused on reverting back to a childhood stage. Lolita wear frills and child-like attire, decorers accessorize with pokemon (anyone notice that?) or colorful kid accessories, and of course, Kandi Kids love their retro cartoon characters. RainbowBrightYeah! :] That's probably why I like all three. Though I suck at Decora. >_> Okay /rant. :]
