"I have to say I haven't, I fly over most places like these, unless I see a sign of my brother," he said with a nod, taking a few steps, then watching her. He'd follow her, walk by her side, make sure she was alright. Having friends..this was strange, he cared for others, such a strange feeling for him, it confused him a bit. He flicked his tail and listened, heard sounds he wouldn't have noticed before, they were soft and soothing, strange, soothing, he never thought of that word before, that feeling before. Strange, quite strange. "You like it here then I take it...perhaps as I come by here later on, I'll stop to see you, would you like that Mtima?"
He could at least give her some company if she ever needed it while he passed by.

"That's too bad," she commented when he said he flew over places like this, but glanced over curiously at the mention of a brother, "You have a brother? I had two, but they didn't get along very well and, well, that didn't work out for them." Mtima smiled a bit, remembering both of them fondly despite the bickering. It was odd that she might consider death so seriously some of the time, and so lightly the rest of the time. However, her brothers had the advantage that there was no question they would be reincarnated. It was not so certain for mortals. "I love it," Mtima confirmed her liking of the Jungle, "I'd be happy to see you, though I'm not sure how long I'll be staying here."

"Thats good that you love it here Mtima, it will be great for you here then," the statement that she wasn't sure how long she'd be here confused him a bit, but perhaps for her it would be best to just keep moving around, to get her mind off of the family she had left behind her. She did in fact want to start anew, so venturing to other places was indeed a good start to that. "Then at least I could try to find you, I do believe our paths will cross again in the future, so there are no worries about that," he said with a nod.
His brother, she had a couple too?
He wondered if hers were buffoons like his was.
"My brother and I are not alike at all...a pity too," perhaps if they were, they could've gotten along much better.

"I'll look forward to you visiting again," she murmured brightly, and started to lead the way through the trees while keeping a path that was wide enough for them to remain side by side. She sighed at the mention of how Katana'k and his brother were not alike, wondering if they too fought as her brothers had. While it was fortunate they were gods and would return, it wasn't a pleasant notion.
"My brothers were not so different, and I think that was part of their problem," she said conversationally, "The three of us had a following, a pride- one brother was not content to be a secondary or tertiary deity and the other would not give up his place. That was eventually what led to their deaths, leaving just me and a dispersed pride." Mtima intentionally did not mention how Wahabu and Kilango had not gotten along, but between them and her own brothers she knew very well that siblings sometimes did not do well together. She hoped that her friend was in no such situation, but would not ask.

Katana'k chuckled a bit, not at the sadness of death, but the sibling problems, "It seems like all siblings have their scuffles at one time or another yes? Sometimes I think if we had had more siblings, a sister even, things would've been different, but then again, our family broke up when we were young, though more siblings could've stayed together...family makes you strong, in one way or another," he said with a nod and a half smile have smirk.
Brothers...seemed from all the stories he heard, that they were all alike.
And then at that moment he felt a pull, and stopped everything, breathing, speaking, he could swear his heart stopped, then began again. A pull...was it brother close? "Mtima...I think my brother is near, I can't have him get farther away from me again...do forgive me..." he said, smile fading to a frown.
He didn't really want to leave...but he had things to settle, and hopefully when they were settled, he could live a bit more peacefully. "I'll be sure to cross paths with you again, will you be alright now?"

Mtima gave a grave nod when Katana'k mentioned how siblings had their troubles. She was a little too experienced with sibling rivalry, especially in recent times- it hadn't been too long after her brothers' deaths that she had arrived in the Pridelands. Her gaze turned to the distance as he suggested more siblings, and said how his family had broken up young. Her own little family had lost a cub early on, and now they had lost her- but they were not young. Kilango had her love, Wahabu and Kizamaji had each other- they had family and now she was once again without. It hadn't lasted long last time, but that had not turned out for the best- hopefully she would take more time for herself now.
She was so lost in thought, she didn't notice when Katana'k stopped walking, talking, breathing until he spoke. Mtima was drawn back to reality, and she realized she was several paces away from her friend now. She bit her lip when he said he was going to go try to find his brother- had he just said he and his brother did not get along? Hopefully, she was just imagining that.
"I will be alright," she assured him, nodding a farewell.

"Do forgive me Mtima that I have to go, but I'll come back," he said with a nod. She said she'd be alright, she hoped that she wasn't lying to him, never the less, he had a brother to catch, a brother to settle a score with. With one final smile, he let loose his wings and cast himself up through the canopy and into the sky. He went in the direction he felt a pull from, but he made sure to notice the landmarks and scenery around him.
He'd come back to see her, to really make sure she was alright...he would, he would.

Mtima watched as Katana'k flew off, and kept her eyes on the sky even when he was no longer visible in the distance, trying to keep the feeling that there was someone there with her. She would be alright, she just hadn't realized how much having someone, anyone around had helped her and now the lonliness was almost overwhelming. Her new friend was gone, and she was gone away from her mate and son now. Alone again.
With a shaky sigh, the goddess turned her eyes from the heavens back to the earth. Now she just needed to find a good place to nest for the time she spent here. With that goal in mind, she disappeared down a path through the trees.
