Kinari's paw swung down and moved the other back to swing again. His target was his heart and what more, what was upon it. If those feathers helped him find Mrost, then maybe taking one would reduce the clearity and range. It was best to grab them all, but a few would suffice. It would surely buy War some time. He grinned and glared at Red. He had finally changed to something more of a warrior than a spirit inhabiting a host. He knew that this would not end well, at least for him, but he was having too much fun.

Looking over Red's body as they both hung in mid-air, as if time stopped. Scars and blood stained his fur and body, strong muscles hidden under his fur. Interesting to know what he has gone through with his life. He probably stayed here in the Pride Lands where it was safe for him to collect his strength to take over his host and make the body his own. He probably had someone he cared for... Kinari had to find his own someday and not just a passing tail. He grinned and narrowed. They shared some in common, but in the end, one was Terror and the other was Red.

His eyes narrowed upon Red's heart and smirked. Too bad for you... We could have been better off if the terms were different.

This time, the necklace took the brunt of the hit. Red didn't give a damn about it, caring only now for survival and overpowering his opponent. He didn't need to spy on Mrost through them anymore, he'd train himself to track the god through his own blood if he had to. Anything with a link would do him just fine and where he was going, he could get more feathers. He had leverage now. Trying to use the moment to his advantage, he leapt forward, aiming to unbalance Kinari, and either pin him or at least to get his claws some purchase that wasn't mane.

At the contact with the feathers, he got one last flash of Mrost's thoughts.

Three happy, healthy cubs, godlings. Unmistakably his.

There were cubs. Mrost had cubs.

He couldn't ask for any better stranglehold to have over the god. He had to survive, had to. He stifled another laugh as he tried to bring his teeth into the fray.

"HaHA. Apparently I'm not Mrost's only brat!"

Kinari laid pinned under Red, nothing wrong with that. He would not being on top either, but one cannot choose. He grinned and clasped a paw around the necklace.

"So what? Knowing War, he learned from his first mistake with bearing you and found a Goddess to mate with. Those cubs would be immortal and a much more worthy keep around himself unlike you," Kinari reached up and licked him again. "You... wouldn't mind me taking these now, will you?" he purred, tugging on the necklace around the lion's neck. "I am sure you could find something more fitting to use than these ragged feathers."

Kinari's chance to kill him slipped for now. Now was the time for his own personal time with the lion. The scarred lion slide a paw onto his chest and grinned.

"Gonna let me go or will you kill me like I said earlier. I have nothing to live for so it would be rather empty kill, but at least you'd have killed a warrior like me."

Red felt relief wash over him as he successfully pinned Kinari. He was at the end of his tether and wasn't sure he could have attempted anything as strenuous a second time. He tried to catch his breath, only to become aware that it wouldn't be as easy as that, he'd probably only recover from this kind of exertion in a week, not a few moments. He stopped trying, instead settling to glower darkly at Kinari. More worthy those immortals might be, but he'd get them all the same. He has felt the glow of pride when Mrost looked at them and the bitter jealousy in him had risen. No longer was Na the one making the decisions, he was the one who'd take action now.

He blinked at being licked and without thinking about what he was doing, shook the necklace from around his neck, letting them fall to Kinari, not actually sure why he was being so complacent. Physical contact shook him a lot, he found. Before it had always been Na who felt it. Now he actually did.

"Take it. I'll bring back his entire wings as a trophy to replace it." he said grimly.

"And no. I don't kill those who have proved themselves capable. It's a waste. This world needs more warriors, all that'd be left would be the idiots like the ones in this pride if all those who fight killed one another." he smirked. "And I'd kill myself in a world like that."

With a grunt of pain, he shoved himself back to his feet and stepped clear of his opponent, limping a short distance away. Still dripping blood to the ground where he opened clotting wounds. He smirked deviously.

"Though damn, you fight well. Where the hell did you learn that?"

"Surviving on my own. Having to take care of myself I picked up a few things. Being the way I am helps," Kinari placed the necklace around his own neck and sat up. "It's unfortunate that I'll still have to kill you."

Kinari was not gonna let his target get away. As long as he was breathing, no target was gonna get away from him. But he felt rather weak from the fight but still strong enough to give chase. Terror moved behind him and swung a paw at him in attempts to grip his hip and pin him himself. Red was a worth foe and a possible good companion in the long run if time was gonna be heartless in finding a mate for himself.

"Tell me Red, what do you see in me that is worth keeping alive? Someone who walked in the shadows and snuck into the Pride Lands to get to you? Is it because I am the only one who ever got this close to you under War's orders?"
PostPosted: Wed May 16, 2007 3:27 pm

Red wasn't able to stop himself being tackled, taken off guard. He mentally cursed himself for leaving the opportunity open to the other lion, not sure why he expected to walk away from the fight. He didn't flinch however, instead met his gaze evenly. He didn't yell accusations, didn't get outraged over the apparent betrayal, merely grinned to himself, since in the situation, he'd probably have done the same.

"What do I see in you? Now /that's/ a question. What I see is that you are a self-serving, low-down, backstabbing, vicious, heartless, scheming b*****d." he laughed. "I see myself. And I'll be damned if I'm about to kill someone as skilled and downright attractive as I am." even pinned and in mortal danger, it seemed his ego didn't falter much.

"And yes. You are the /only/ lion so far to even match me in battle. The other ones he sent are pushing up dasies. You are the only one who ever got this close. How the tables turn, eh? Now it's my turn to ask you, is there anything in me that's not worth killing? Or am I just another bounty kill for the god of war?"

Kinari relaxed and laid himself upon Red. He had no real reason to fight anymore as he took a bang into his maw. This gesture was an obvious sign that he was losing interest at the task or what was going on. His interest had fallen greatly since the fight's adrenaline was still running inside of him. The comment he got made him smirk and grin. A backstabber, that he was. Self-serving, well, now that was close. Vicious and heartless is a vivid picture. But scheming? No... not really. But attractive as he was? Well, isn't that a compliment.

"Now, flatter gets you places, especially with me, Red. However, don't try to worm into me like I was a female. Remember who you are dealing with. I have Mrost's feathers, I have my target pinned, to me, it looks like I am the victor here."

Kinari placed a paw against Red's neck, rough but without the intent to kill.

"You... What I see in you? Well, I must admit I am quite attracted to you, it's hard to find a good strong male to have feelings for. Too many weaklings around here. You are strong and a b*****d child of a god. It's interesting. Red and Terror. Heh, like that'll happen. As for the bounty, War paid me nothing so I am not obligated to do as he says. I followed along for your blood and a worthy fight. I got that. To me, I got paid already and I didn't even kill you yet," Kinari licked him again and grinned as he gripped his shoulder roughly. "And don't lie to me, you didn't get rid of all of Mrost's followers that you have met. I met one and he was how I found you. Interesting, no?"

It was bizzare and unsettling to be the one at the merc yof someone else for a change. Red almost always hid behind Na-Be when he couldn't be bothered with situations like that. But this time he didn't even consider Na, Kinari had fought well, the least he could do was to actually talk to him to his face. Besides, he didn't have to concede to Na any more, the meek personality was somewhere in the back of his mind, not wanting to reply at all after so much violence. He let out a snort of protest at his declaration of victory but decided against protesting, it wasn't like he had any grounds to argue.

He held dead still at the paw against his neck, his heart racing and the adrenalin that had been receding gradually rushing back tenfold. He could hardly believe what the other lion said though, dumbstruck by how unpredictable he could be. He'd never met anyone like that in his life, besides himself, and it actually left him almost without words. Flattery didn't steer anyone wrong with him either, only adding to his relief.

"You met another of Mrost's followers? Can't have been one that came after me. Maybe a cowardly spy, watching from a distance. Only you ever walked out in front of me with intent to fight me and did so successfully." he smirked "And you are damn right there are too many weaklings around here. It's contagious. Not even the females are worth the time of day." he raised a brow. "Good thing Terror came along, eh?" It was his turn to lick Kinari on the nose, cackling.

"Haha. You know what?" he lowered his voice "I think the future just changed again."

Kinari grinned as he got attention back. His nose wiggled as reflex as he looked down at him. It was interesting. He had similar views and they were similar in many ways, but it was unfortunate that things came to be as they were. He sighed and cocked a brow. Was he hinting toward something? Not even females are worth it and it was good that he came along? Now that was intriguing.

Kinari drew close and grinned, close to touching foreheads.

"Tell me, what are you getting at, Red? Are you comparing me to a female? If so then you must be a weaker one. Can't anyone just say what they are trying to say and not beat around the bush? One way or another, you will say it."

Kinari smiled... Kinari smiling was much creepier and more frighting as well. It was best to smirk or grin, but he smiled.

"So what does the future tell you, ex-parasite of Na-be?"

Red actually fidgeted under intense scrutiny, not used to being unable to dodge a question that put him on the line. But he figured, he'd fought dangerous lions, survived being attacked by a god, made it this far. Surely he could give a straight answer?

"No. Not comparing you to a female. Females are weak and exploitable. What I'm saying is..." he pondered how to put it, around half way he gave up trying to articulate it and let his head fall back onto the ground. "You are a hundred times more attractive than them. And you can fight. I like the sound of Terror and Red. Uhm. Yeah."

He looked thoughtful.

"It doesn't look like I'm going to die today. Other than that, it's more uncertain than I've ever seen it." he smiled "But you know what? I'm up for taking chances."

Kinari smirked.

"A thousand times better? Attractive as you are. Are you coming onto me, Red?"

He laughed as his paw moved from the other's neck, both crossed upon his chest. He smirked down at him again. Taking chances... without that, life would be dull and too safe for his own comfort. What was interesting now was that this male seemed like he was trying to get Kinari to do something...

"And exactly what are these chances you are up for taking may I ask? Going after War? Get into another spar with me? Demolish the Pride Lands? Or perhaps murder the royal family. Ah, that would work wonders! This place will fall apart and the weaklings too! And better yet, my brothers will be dead! Now that is a chance I would jump at."

"So Red, willing to share you infinite knowledge of these chances and enlightening me on what exactly it is that you getting at before?"
PostPosted: Wed May 16, 2007 4:35 pm

Red fretted awkwardly "Haha. Yes? I mean. It's not like I'll get a chance like this one again, right? Cause I mean if I let you walk away then I'd be kicking myself from now till who knows when?"

At the mention of the chances he was referring to, he nodded. "All of those chances and more. I want to stop thinking about doing things and actually start doing them. As for the chances of them actually happening, since meeting you, it seems that they are ten times more likely than they were before. And you know what? I like those odds."

he looked around at what he could of the pridelands.

"You know I dreamt of this place up in flames once. Totally destroyed, like hell on Earth. It could have been anytime, past or future. I say we make sure it was a vision of the future. Make it real."

He tilted his head. "But yes. What I was getting at earlier is that I'm not about to let you walk away without me with you."

Ah, now that's quite interesting. He grinned and kissed his nose.

"If you bore me... you know I will kill you. I don't stick around if I am bored, only things with interest could keep my attention and for now, you have it. However, I will have to report back to your father sooner or later. These feathers, I will have to give them to him as proof of your... "death". Either way, he will have some power over you if I told him that I only managed to mangle you enough to keep alive."

He chuckled. Weirdo was wanting to be his mate or something? Now that would be awkward but fun in his own sense. Mating and mating... and more mating, but this would reveal an entire side of Kinari that no one has lived to tell... should he even risk it? Kinari was Kinari, he did what he wanted and when. He got what he wanted and when he wanted it. Red wouldn't be too submissive to him... no, he would probably try to dominate him if he shown any sign of weakness... but it was a chance that he was interested in taking.

"Fine, as of now, you are my temporary companion. We will see if you are really worth keeping... Son of War."
