Spearmint peered back at his rump, to the stars adorning him. Gathered alike his mother's clovers, but in the shape of his father's mark, it did make him wonder. "Mother carries a set of clovers like my stars," he said, giving a momentary wiggle of his behind in emphasis.
He paused a moemnt, blinking at the question she ahd then presented. "Why no, I haven't," he said, looking just a teensy bit bashful at the admittance. Was he supposed to have? "But I'd be interested in a treasure hunt, if you tell me about it!" No harm in trying something new, and aside, she made it sound very exciting. And it was a way to get to know her better, too. She seemed fun-loving and lively, and that made him feel lively and energetic. It was a good combination to say the least. Made him feel like a foal again.

She couldn't help but giggle in that soft melodic chime that normally accompanied her. He was simply fantastic and wonderful to talk to. Not to mention he was interested in hearing about Treasure Hunts. How lucky she was to have met someone so genuine.
"Well," she started with a soft voice, head held high and straight, "Someone places items in different areas. Then they make checklists of what you're you find." She beamed excitedly thinking of the great hunt back home when all the foals got involved. "Then the players gather and find the items, like say a seashell, or a shiny pebble... stuff like that." She explained other things like for instance feathers, or beads, anything that would lie in this land. And, finally how one would win with the most items found. But, there was one very important thing that she forgot to mention of course... there were usually more than two players.
Frowning all of a sudden she felt stupid, for to explain a useless game wasn't very smart to some soquili. "Oh... there's not enough players is there?' she asked with an almost sympathetic look upon her face.
Now how could they continue this fun conversation if the game wasn't right. There just had to be away around it.... Somehow.

He chuckled softly, pausing in his steps. "Well, who says it has to be done exactly the same?" he asked, tilting his head slightly in thought. "I mean, rather then a competitin, perhaps...." He trialed off looking across the field, searching for the right words.
"That is... rather then each fo us trying to find items and see who wins, by not a hunt for items to see fi we can find them together? Like... one of us thinks of an item and we go off together in search of it, and once we find it, the other picks and item, and we look for that?"
In hindsight once he said it, it sounded kind of dumb, but he was trying to find a way to perk her up, as her realization made her look sad, and sad wasn't a good thing. This was happy time! Time for people to be cheery. Aside... he hadn't really had a chance to 'play games' since he and his siblings were all grown up and went their own ways. He looked at her, hoping for a decent reaction at elast.

((Still luffs me Minty))
A way to find things together, there was a new concept in the whole idea of the game. Why maybe it would be fun changing the routine a bit. But, wouldn't she need a list to go by or would they just say something to the effect of find a shell, or a shiny rock. Hmm ... so many things that traveled in her vast little mind. The idea that he was trying to work with her on this definitely made the little blue mare feel quite charmed.
"Okay! I think I got it, "she announced in a sweet soft tone bobbing her head, "We'll look together as you said. Might even find real treasure along the way like the parrot stallion had in his basket."
She looked around her and beamed, "Lets say we find umm a seashell first. Means we'll have to go to the shoreline first. That okay or do you have something else in mind?" Standing rather shyly her heart was bouncing with joy, for she was getting to play a game with someone that wanted to join her.
Maybe her day was looking up after all.

Spearmint nodded. "Going to the shore is fine, as I've never seen it myself closely. Heard about it, smelled it on the wind, but never actually been on the sands." He tossed his head slightly, looking in the direction he knew the shore to be. "A seashell, hm? What kind?" He started along the way, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious or dangerous. One never knew when trouble lurked, but now would be a bad time to find it. He was having fun.

She pondered as her hooves sunk deeply in the terrain of what other things they'd find in their scavenger hunt. Surely there were many things that could be thought to find or uncover, maybe even buried treasure. Following after him she smiled with a soft laugh for they would see the ocean shore in their travels. Also, she was ecstatic that he wanted to go with her to begin with for lately no stallions dared even talk with her but a few breaths, then off they went.
But this was so different now that she was going on a scavenger hunt with someone. Normally it was many pitted amongst each other, but just her a Spearmint made Sweet very happy.
"Well when we get there you tell me what its like in real person okay? I'm happy you're playing with me like this. Really makes me so giddy someone actual does like my company." she nodded with a bright wink then trotted along side him as her tail was swishing back and forth in a jovial sort of way. Things were sure looking up for the forlorn little mare only a few hours ago.

Spearmint gave her a glance of curiosity and then chuckled. "Now why wouldn't anyone want to spend time with you? It's not like you're one of those fur-covered shapeshifting... things, or going to eat Soquili or something."
He gave a slight shake of his head, throwing his hair back into place somewhat. "You're great company I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to be around you. Pssssh they must be blind or something. And of course I'd share my thoughts of the ocean with you!"

Sweetstuff beamed with pride as it filled her deep as the streams they drank within. Never had anyone been so kind to her, let alone show Sweet Stuff just how wonderful it was to have company and a friend.
"Really?" she exclaimed with a large smile and soft laugh, "I'd love to hear it. Oh and I'm glad you do like my company. It makes me really happy to hear it." She perked her ears toward the far distance eager to hear the rolling waves along with the gulls that soared overhead.
"Oh I hope it don't rain. Its so nice and sunny out right now, " she mused to herself turning her head slowly to think back on what he had said, "What fur covered changing things?" This she was curious to hear for never had she heard mention of such a creature. For someone such as gallant as he, well she figured it had to be something un ordinary for even Spearmint to dislike it.
Watching him she waited and wondered if he would let her know. Precautions of course were the first priority. This the little blue mare kissed with gumdrops upon her rump believed in above all else.

Spearmint's ears twitched at the question, and he sighed slightly. He hated thinking about these... abominations. Really the word had been best chosen when described by some of the others. It was hard to not remember that talk, and the reminders to be careful after the attack on the village, and things after...
"There are some Soquili," he started, glancing back at her a moment, "that are ... evil. Corrupted by something... I don't recall what though, but they are bad. They will attack other Soquili, and I've ehard rumor try to eat them. Some I've heard can shift into the shape of a coyote, so I've become more cautious of those beasts..." He shook his head. "Thankfully they are infrequent, but one must always be wary and alert, for the predators out there show no mercy."
He snorted then, irritated to have ruined the mood a moment. "But that's really not an issue, and we're here to enjoy ourselves, not talk about scary things, right?" He tried to bring the cheer back in his voice. "If it rains, well... the ocean is just as pretty when it's raining as sunny, sort of like some streams and such I know. Or maybe we'll see a rainbow because of the rain?"

Sweet listened intently her eyes glistening in wonder there could be something that evil creeping about in the shadows without the other soquili realizing it. How horrible it was of something attacking peaceful creatures, not to mention in other forms too. She lingered her thoughts on Celendria's familiar and others wondering if they were like that, the thought chilling her mind.
All this scary talk was really disheartening and frankly Sweet wanted to enjoy herself, in his company of course. Besides the thought of finding pretty things together was much more in the way of happiness so she focused on that completely.
"Ohh the Treasurehunt... I almost forgot about that when you mentioned the shape changing things." she tossed her head letting the springy curls bounce this way and that, "Okay lets see... How about we go find a pretty purple seashell at the ocean?" She smiled with a twinkle in her eye back at the larger male. Might as well go to this special place she'd only heard rumors and stories about from the others. Besides if it did rain...
Go away clouds I want to have fun with spearmint.
She'd probably not care since he was there, or so she hoped it would be that way.

Good, the conversationw as going back to something plesant. That was good, as he didn't want to dwell on the negative. Today was about having fun.
"Purple hmm? It should make for an interesting hunt!" His ears perked as the faint scent of the sea tickled his nostrils and he picked up speed, excitement building. "We're getting close," he said with a bit of a smile. "I can just smell it now on the wind, it's such an invigorating scent. Want to race?" He gave a wink but held his pace, letting her decide.

Sweet Stuff blushed for a moment thinking back how horrible the last race with Gingey had been so painful. Her knees still burned with the sensation of skidding along the dirt due to her feet deciding to slip at the wrong moment. She was so sure she would have won that race if it wasn't for her clumsiness. But this time could be different she was sure of it- if only she should try again and prove the fates wrong.
The smell of the ocean brought her back a little to when she arrived in this land. she had forgotten just how wonderful and invigorating the huge body of salt water relieved her senses. She could feel herself becoming more confident as the blue mare stepped closer with every moment. "Yes I'd love that, "she smiled with a warm breath as the blue mare beamed back at him in her sweet temperament. "Ready, set, Go!"
Tearing out past him she laughed with her sweetness as she tossed her head pounding the ground as her happiness pushed the blues away.

He hadn't quite been expecting it that soon, and sputtered slightly as she took off. He'd suddenly lost himself in enjoying the moment and then, BAM!
He took off, kicking up a bit of dirt to follow her, pacing himself enough to not overshoot or strain himself, but also so he didn't pass her. Although he wasn't sure he could, because he was not a runner by nature. He may travel, but he was not conditioned for running, and so he tried to not push himself just yet, but keeping enough pace with her once decently caught up.
The bite of salty air bristled in his senses, the cripsness of it against skin, the smell, and even the taste as they drew closer.
