Archard chuckled softly. "They can come see him, if they like, he won't go anywhere unless I tell him to." he said, brushing a hand down the beast's neck and giving him a quiet order. The dragon loved attention anyway, and he was good with children.
Satisfied that his main mode of transportation would remain there until he return, the blond smiled quietly, and nodded to his companion. "Of course."

"If you say so." Soco turned and waved for Than and Rayen to come out, which they did immediately. Soco then led Archard away from the house quickly before they could be detained any longer.
He kicked at a rock on the sidewalk as they made their way downtown. "So, what do you want to do?" he asked.

Archard nodded, and left the dragon to the mercy of the children, chuckling quietly once more as he turned away with Soco.
He felt that anxious feeling return, and avoided looking the other in the face for the moment. He'd always been teased at home for spending more time with the animals than other people, and he supposed now that it was true. "Why don't we head down to the mall, like you were saying? If that's okay?" he gave a shy smile as he finally looked up.

Soco smiled back. "Well, yeah, that's fine," he said, "but I was wondering what you wanted to do when we got there." While he'd been waiting for Archard to arrive, Soco had slipped on a jean jacket and now he dug his hands into the pockets. There was a slip of paper in one of them with a list of things he wanted to look for at the mall.

"Ooh." Archard's face colored a little. He was so very unaccustomed to these sorts of things. "Well...I don't go to the mall all that often. Do you have any ideas?" he asked, hating to put the pressure on Soco, but not knowing what else to do.

Soco chuckled softly and pulled the list out of his pocket to briefly wave it at Archard. "I have a few ideas, yeah. I haven't gone shopping for fun in a while." He put the paper back in his pocket. "It's more fun when you have at least one other person to go with, you know?" He paused to consider that his experience with the rather dysfunctional Karlet family might not match what others saw as a typical outing -- especially between two guys. "Then again..."

Archard watched the list, and smiled a bit. His idea of fun shopping was visiting exotic pet stores, and grocery shopping. "Yeah, me either." he replied, nodding in agreement. He'd have never gone to the mall on his own, unless there was a store there that had something he needed. "I know what you mean."

It wasn't long until they reached the mall. The parking lot was only half full as they walked past rows of cars and other vehicles. The nearest entrance was through the food court and the smells of baked cinnamon buns and greasy fast food wafted past the doors that were constantly opening and closing.
Soco walked past the food court, ignoring the beginnings of a hunger pang, and glanced up at the signs over the stores. He paused at the entrance to Hot Topic. It wasn't his kind of store, but it had become tradition to look inside at least once per mall trip. "We might as well start here," he said.

((Woah, Adrian, I don't know what happened with that post that was here, but I accidentally typed it into the wrong window when I was replying to threads, lol o.O))
Archard followed along at his friend's side, keeping close through the parking lot, a little bit nervous around the cars, some of which seemed to zip about without a care. He had to force himself to ignore his own hungry feelings as the scents of the food court reached him as well, and he glanced about curiously at the many stores that now surrounded them.
Whe Soco stopped, he looked up the the 'Hot Topic' store, and blinked a little at the red and black sign, giving a weak smile. "Sure, let's try here." He said. The store looked a bit dark, but he trusted Soco.

(( Ahahah, I wondered about that. XD; I almost thought that you'd typed something up, but weren't satisfied with it and took it down. So I didn't say anything. X3;; ))
The corner of Soco's mouth quirked upward when he noticed Archard's expression. "They don't bite," Soco assured him. "And despite how it looks on the outside, they have some interesting things for sale."
Soco's fingers brushed against and took Archard's hand to lead him into the store. It was such a natural action when shopping with Mal and the others that he did it without realizing it. Soco craned his neck to look over the aisles for something to catch his eye. Clothing for gamers, Family Guy merchandise... "Guess they don't have much in, today," he said, a little disappointed. He glanced over at the other side of the store where the fancier shirts and assorted accessories were hanging. "Let's try over there."

"I see." Archard nodded, doing his best to keep his trust with Soco. One thing was for sure, he'd probably never have gone into a store like this on his own. The blond blushed very vaguely when Soco took his hand, and allowed himself to be led into the shop, glancing about at the clothes and other things they had on display. Distracted until Soco spoke to him again, he followed the other boy over to where he had referred. He felt rather out of place, a hand drifting up to loosen the scarf around his neck as he glanced at the dressier ware the maid had lead them to.

Soco browsed and browsed, frowning softly. A lot of things looked fun but impractical for everyday wear. He wanted to save his money for other things.
It was then that the two were accosted by one of the employees -- dressed head to toe in black, with multicolored dreadlocks and multiple facial piercings. "Hi! How are you doing today?" she asked cheerily. Once she recognized the maid, she added, "Soco! I haven't seen you in forever!"
"Ah, hey." Soco gave her a shy smile. He couldn't remember her name for the life of him, and she didn't have a name tag. "Yeah, it's been a while. We've all been busy."
"We've missed seeing you and Malachite in here," she said before turning to size up Archard. "Who is your friend?"
"Just a friend," Soco said.
The woman cast a pointed glance at Soco's hand that still clutched Archard's. "I'm sure."
It was then that Soco finally noticed. He let go and began sputtering, embarrassed.
"Well, you know your way around the store, so just call if you need anything!" she said quickly before moving to help other customers.
"Sorry about that," Soco muttered, not looking up at the blond. "Habit, I guess."

Archard looked over the array of stuff that was stocked on the shelves, a bit dazzled by the many rather odd looking clothes. Well, not odd he supposed, but things he couldn't see himself in.
As an unfamiliar voice called, he looked back, and did his best to keep from looking a little shocked, amazed at the girl's many piercings, though it was mainly her hair that drew her attention.
He gave a sheepish little grin as the woman looked him over, and then blushed at her and Soco's exchange, unable to keep from grinning a little bit.
"Nothing to be embarrassed about." he said, a bit guilty that Soco seemed to be so. Truth be told, he'd rather enjoyed it, holding hands. He took Soco's hand back himself, a little bashful and nervous to do so, but wanting to show him that he didn't see anything wrong with it.

Soco didn't look up when Archard reached for his hand, but he half-smiled to himself. He hadn't expected Archard to initiate the contact, so it was a pleasant surprise. "Let's take a look at the stuff out back," he suggested. He led Archard through the narrow aisles to the back of the store where various toys and car accessories) were hanging on the wall.
There were a few things Soco hadn't seen in the store before, but they weren't anything he was particularly interested in buying.
Soco made a face at the Edward Scissorhands plushie. "Did you ever see that movie?" he asked, pointing to it. "Edward Scissorhands?"
