[Time ticks on...]It had just been a long day at work. Chris took the usual route back to his house: a shortcut through the woods. Usually he was too focused on getting back home, but this time he was feeling unusually curious; he'd had a little too much cola, he supposed, and was probably brimming with energy. The forest was normally quiet this time of night, but something caught his attention. His ears twitched; voices could be heard, faintly, from far away. Who was there?
He turned around, following the sound. Probably not one of his better ideas. He spotted the group of travelers gathered in between a circle of trees, in a small clearing. They appeared to be talking to each other. Were they bandits? Nearby villagers? None of them were recognizable, but he dare not speak. He only watched, one hand fingering the hilt of his blade, the only thing that would protect him should these people prove violent. [...and so we must be gone.]

[Time ticks on...]One of the men apparently had heard him, for they all looked in his direction. Damn these leaves... it made him impossible to move without notice. However, it would be in his best interest if these people didn't know he was armed. "Who...who are you?" His voice shook as he made his inquiry. This company didn't look like a peaceful one. [...and so we must be gone.]

[Time ticks on...]Chris took this in. All of a sudden these people didn't seem so violent. Assuming they'd gotten lost, he informed them of their location. "You're on the edge of Barton Woods, towards a small village that few people know about because it's not on any of the maps. People said it was abandoned and it wasn't, so... so... nobody really comes here." He was a little puzzled. "How'd you get all the way out here?" [...and so we must be gone.]

[Time ticks on...]Chris pondered this thought. "Take you there? Huh... I guess I could. There's no inns, though... I think there are a few deserted houses around that you guys can stay in if you need to rest..." Even though Chris was in a social class considered affluent at the time, his house was not large enough to hold a lot of people. "We don't exactly have an inn, nobody comes, like I said... who are your friends?" [...and so we must be gone.]

She gazed at the face in the water but she could not recognize it. When she blinked it followed and when she waved her arm it did as well. She studied her features carefully trying to remember who she was. She touched her hand to her cocoa colored cheek and ran her fingers through her pale hair. The stark contrast of colors with her hair and her skin somehow looked right. She jumped when her hands brushed the scrape on her cheek. How had she gotten that?
Slipping her fingers into the careworn bag on her shoulder she pulled out a notebook. Was it hers? She flipped open the pages and gazed at the neat cursive. She pulled out a pencil and wrote on a clean page. Who am I? The handwritings matched so this had to be hers. It was some kind of diary. Sitting at the base of a tree she flipped open and began to read.
Day five of me being in this hellhole. I cannot stand it here any longer. The walls are closing in and I feel as if I can’t breathe. I can’t take it much longer. I have to get out. Ugh. Mim is coming to check on me. More later.--Akari
Was that her name? She sounded it out to herself. "Akari"

nagi grunted under his mask he remembered the fact that he thought of everyone as his targets just incase one of them was"nice to meet you and really i would defenately like to get out of these wierd woods"he said walking towards the new guy
