1.leaving to everywhere early,even if its 10 minutes away
2.actually having something to do on saturdays(competitions rock!)
3.being able to do virtually anything in school for the sake of band(why are you out of class? BAND!)
4.getting away with hitting the teachers with water balloons(band camp+biology teachers meeting)
there are so many others,but im going to stop with these.

1. Getting away with the most mundane things by saying im in band.
2. The band boosters sell the best hotdogs. period. doesnt matter which school, band nerds just do them better.
3. getting to team up with sideline crew to glorify the band and make fun of the football team at football games
4. Getting to stand in large crowds at the local festival yelling "Support our band!" and getting those great hot dogs for free for it.
5. A free PE credit
6. The countless hours spent with friends doing stupid hilarious things at practice, or competition, or games, or concerts, or trips...(the list goes on)
7. And last, the great satisfaction that colleges will want me while the cheerleaders are left to rot! XP

Um. I just enjoy it all around. Everything about it. Probably why I want to be a band director. It's just amazing. <3

You kids who don't have to do P.E., you're soo cool...my school doesn't do that...But, we're the only marching band that competes in the county...That's one of my perks...And enjoying the band pranksters Duct Tape people and put Seran Wrap on toilets...don't ask...But, our band is full of ADD children..It's a wonder that we can do anything...

-Friday night football games
-Competition
-Being able to run over anyone who gets in the way
-Not having to deal with cheerleaders and flag twirlers (my band isn't a show band)
-Trips and getting out of class to go to them
-Free food (most of the time)
-Tailgate parties
-Being with family (band members)

Free admission to a game which you won't pay attention to and just goof off and dance around is one of the perks off the top of my head...
Another is being the only person in a class that's in band, and you can say something about how you stayed up until four in the morning because of band (convieniently not pointing out that from about eleven o' clock to three thirty you were at IHOP with your band buddies) and they'll let you take it easy that hour. 3nodding

when playing the clarinet:
trying to march over the person infront of you cuz theyre doing it wrong and ending up getting youre clarinet shoved up in your gum... dont have to speak out in class after that!

"ONE TIME AT BAND CAMP..." -- this year we went to a place called heart o the hills..... lesbian fat camp is what it was.. we just rented the place out.. i will never look at a heart the same way again!

trips, football games, compitions, getting out of class, having something to do every friday, our band got to play for McCain at his rally, Friends, having a place to go when you're ditching class, having a room to go in when it's too hot outside, having a place to sleep in school, always having a place to hang out no matter what. I could go on forever. I heart band!
