Zelyhon
I'm still thinking of Shifter, so I'll have a little of everything.

You just like the idea of becoming all kinds of hideous monsters...

Oh, if you have access to third level druid spells yet, check out Call Lightning. There's a couple of areas where my basic strategy was to kick open the door, step just into the room and drop 5d6 of electrical rape on everyone.

It clears s**t out so ******** fast you'll amaze yourself. I don't know how many times I've expected it to soften things up and instead everything ends up dead. Wow... just, wow.

I'm going for getting the fighter levels out of the way first. Druid leveling is coming up soon.

I'll be getting the game on Monday. Hoping to have some time to start playing through the week, since I'm not on call next week. heart

Once we get to playing as a party, I intend to go cleric. 3nodding heart

Hooray! A healer!

So are we all going to start on Level 1 from Chapter 1?

I!

Have a deer helmet! heart
Just the normal 25 gold helmet that gives +1 to concentration or the Shadow Hart Helmet?
Normal. xd But I think it's cute. Nevermind that I'm not wearing it because my hair looks better..
Also, WHERE do I get light armor at? I forget why, but I can't use medium or heavy or something doesn't work, but I can't find any.. sweatdrop

I don't get why missile-type items work for breaking locked stuff. I mean.. yes, it's convenient and I'm not complaining, but.. whaaat? gonk

Hmm.. would the necromancer dude be any good for once we get to the party?

Oh. Also, if someone could explain this whole dice business? I'm on a computer. I have no dice. Why is it using dice? Why don't I just HURT things? gonk

(also, what exactly is 1d8.. or whatever. That's like, one eight-sided die, right? So you roll it, and then.. what? gonk )

Most places that sell armor have at least some light armor. When you leve click on the item and select the eye icon on the radial menu it will give you a description of the item including any special properties (magic bonuses, etc) as well as the items classification, who can use it, armor class bonus, weight, etc.

Light armor is stuff like Padded, Leather, and Studded Leather. If you wear heavier armor than this you lose the special reduction to the penalties you'd get when using a weapon in each hand for being a ranger. Also, the heavier the armor, the higher the basic protection of the armor itself, but the less your dexterity bonus will apply to your armor class. With a high enough dexterity, you're better off wearing robes than armor. If your dexterity isn't higher than 14 or so and you aren't doing a lot of sneaking around in stealth or using two weapons, you might as well just wear something like chainmail or splint mail.

Missile weapons can break locks and doors because all they really look at for that is whether your missiles can overcome the door or chest's damage resistance. In a lot of cases, only a really good shot is going to dent even the weakest doors, and you can usually pass off any damage done by enchanted missles with fire/acid/ice/etc damage as the elemental damage from the spell discharge doing it.

Just wait til you see an Arcane Archer unload an arrow with Imbue in effect (turns up to three arrows a day into an arrow with a fireball payload to the tune of the archer's level in d6 tacked on)... chests and doors open easily at that point.

And when we go party, a wizzie type will certainly be highly useful. They're rather soft and squishy, but they do wonders towards softening up groups of enemies for the fighters to mow down.

So far the general gist of whatever party we do looks like:

Zely - flexible support with a combat build shapeshifter.

FFG - Tanking and direct damage with a barbarian (if he goes barb 10/dwarven defender 10 he'll be a sick tank)

Mala - Cleric (I have a vague feeling she's gonna shoot for a healing/anti-undead build with a lot of wisdom, good charisma and constitution, and enough strength to support platemail and a shield for max survivability). The nice thing about clerics is that they can fight decently even without much strength or dex due to good armor and decent weapon choices.

Loki - Pointman

Skizz - Direct damage/mage line defence (I'm figuring you wanna go wizard/Pale Master... their undead and combat abilities are great for dealing with stuff that breaks the combat line and makes a bead for the casters.

If Shouj plays, I have a feeling she'll gravitate towards something that deals lots of damage through spells... probably a druid or a wizard (maybe even specializing in Evocation... aka Nukeromancy)... she just strikes me as a girl who enjoys dropping the big boom.

I think it is a foregone conclusion that Pi will be a bard. Not only are bard spells useful in a party, but the benefits of bard song are incredible at higher levels... and benefit the entire party for decent lengths of time.

Me, I can do several things. If we're slightly lacking on healing and could use another person on the line, I'll look into making a combat cleric (cleric/Champion of Torm). If we need some rogue support and a little more indirect fire, I'll make that rogue/wizzie/arcane archer. If we need more direct damage and some healing support I can go with a druid. If we need a secondary tank I'll just make a paladin of some sort. If we just neeed more zot, I'll go nukeromancer. I'll just have a bunch of fun with any of them.

The entire system is build using the same rules as tabletop D&D, just in a graphical form and with the dice rolling done behind the scenes by the computer with the results shown in the display window to let you gauge how things are going. The dice just represent ranges of numbers. d8 means 1-8. 5d8 means 5-40. A lot of these spells behave exactly like in tabletop.

I've got to go for now, but 8 people is a lot isn't it? My friend said that it might be too many people.

Anyways, I'm excited either way. I was planning on doing the Dwarven Defender route so that I could be beefier.

Woot, mobile brick.

I dunno if there's a limit to party members, but this also covers us for if people can't make it one day or if we make two parties.

The two party idea was what i was leaning towards...though you're right about having a large amount of people to cover times when others might be absent. I just want to make sure the levels stay in the same ballpark for everyone so we don't have a level 8 character running around with a bunch of level 13's or something. lol

Have to go to work... want to play NWN more... crying

Hooray (?) for more addictions...

Alright so I'm going to be playing tomorrow around noon PST until 4 (at which time I will go play some Twilight Imperium)

Anyone interested in joining me to play, let me know via PM or in this thread. I will post Server info once the game is hosted tomorrow.

P.S: Anyone with a mic, get Ventrilo so we can do voice communication while we play.
