-A rather unpleasant glare met her answer, but he kept silent, standing up with something of a stomp. Turning, he lifted his feather upwards as he stalked out of sight, seething unhappily.

He hadn't done anything to warrent her snaps and unpleasantness. And here the leopardess was acting like he was poison. He'd been kind. He'd simply offered her company. And she'd just been.. frigid. Cruel.

It wasn't HIS fault he was a lion or a god.

And that's when it hit him, a smirk dragging across his face. Perhaps they could play a little game. See if she reacted so unpleasantly to one of her own. Yes... this could be fun actually now that he thought of it. And if she did. Well then, wouldn't it be hillarous to spring it on her. That she'd enjoyed time with him afterall?

Oh yes....

Settling his feathers slowly downward he let the soft magik of illusion slip over his body, hiding his bright pelt in something more natural, size seeming to shrink and shift. Gazing down at the white socked legs, the chocolate hued 'leopard' settled himself, waiting for the sound of her movement.

It'd be too convienent for him to show up in there again. But to 'accidentally' bump into her as she left? No that'd work just lovely.-

Mleli felt as though she'd just won another fight with a god when he glared, but instead of reacting just walked away. If nothing else, the idea brightened her mood a bit. She'd have another interesting story for Kifuno, who would believe her even if others, like Tego, didn't. A small smirk replaced her grumpy frown and she finally stepped closer to the stream and waded in a bit. She took her time, enjoyed that she was alone, as was usual.

With a sigh, she leaned forward and took a short drink. Several minutes after Limbuko had left, and after that conversation she really realized how alone she was- and it was not quite as pleasant as it was before. Ah, perhaps she would go back and tell Kifuno about another god appearing in the Jungle.

The leopardess stepped out of the water, shook off her paws and headed back into the trees again. She was entirely unaware that the god was still lurking about in disguise.

-He hadn't minded the wait. In fact, it gave him time to settle into the character, testing out the way he walked. Pondering over what might best draw her attention, before deciding he'd simply go with the flow like he always did. Use his tongue to his advantage.

Settling to wait he'd slowly began to lick at his paws, only rising when he heard the shuffle of her own motion. Trotting quickly forward in a beeline for the speckled femme, intent on knocking into her.-

The leopardess was distracted, but not so distracted that she did not hear the quick footsteps of a stranger. She suspected it was Limbuko still hanging around, if only for a fleeting second because he was the last creature she saw. Mleli did not realize she was about to be run into, and with little time to think things through she was bumped into- and she leapt back.

"Hey, watch where you're going," she hissed, hit close enough to the healing wound that it was more uncomfortable than usual to be hit.

-His eyes widened softly, drawing back as she did in a pretty good display of acting skills, white tipped ears flicking forward.- "Ohhh! I'm sorry."

"I didn't mean to..." -The voice, deepend purposely to try and disguise the god, cooed it's lie softly. And the 'leopard' stepped back tentatively, head cocking with soft concern. He wondered if he HAD hit her a little too hard?- "Are you alright?"
PostPosted: Thu Mar 08, 2007 3:16 pm

An apology came from the leopard rather quickly, but she did not reply right away. Mleli glanced him over for a moment, wondering if he was anything like the others. The thought made her stomach turn, even if her reasons for disliking them were petty.

"I'm fine," she replied finally, her voice not as snappy as before, "Where were you off to in such a hurry?" It was clear she had no idea what was going on- why would she? She'd only ever met two gods, and neither had ever said anything about powers for their conversations had not gone in that direction in the slightest.

-Where the hell was he going?- "I was following a scent..."

-A sheepish grin touched his maw, and slowly his long leopard tail began to sway with discomfort.- "I should have caught yours as well.. But I was so caught up in the thought of getting some food."

"Perhaps next time I'll rely more on my eyes, then my nose." -Changing his stance to one that was more comfortable, he offered another mild smile.-

Mleli nodded slowly, accepting the answer quite easily. He must be starving not to be using his eyes as well as his nose, for certainly trees and roots needed to be watched out for. Not to mention other creatures, though generally she didn't worry about running into them.

"That sounds like a good idea, considering how much there is to run into around here," she commented pointedly, sounding less grumpy and somewhere between matter-of-fact and mocking. That said, she continued, "You must be starving."

It was the most logical reason not to be thinking straight, she supposed. Though his gender could have had something to do with it.

((I just realized I don't particularly KNOW what she'd like in a guy. XD But that's okay, it just means I get to fish around abit. And if worse comes to worse, I could always use Lim's lusty powers on her.))

"If noone sees you trip, then does it really matter?" -A sheepish and submissive little muse, before he shyed his eyes away to more seriously 'lie' to her question.- "I am awfully hungry though..."

-Eyes glancing at the female once again, he shifted his weight tenderly, chocolate tail curling gently.- "Hopefully prey a little smaller then you though. You weren't out hunting too where you?"

(( XD I'll tell you this, admitting to be hungry was probably a good first step. Random trend in RPs seems to be she does have some strange sympathy for hungry creatures, or have something about not letting others go hungry.. *cough* I'm not even sure what she likes beyond leopard ))

The comment about tripping drew a genuine smile from the leopardess, it was the truth. She'd never admit to running into things or tripping if no one saw her, but living where she did it had been or was bound to happen. She watched him carefully, and relaxed a bit.

"I suppose you are right," she said, her voice quite a bit different from the snapping it was before, "I was not out hunting, but I'd be happy to help if you need it." Another surprising comment, for she decided he looked capable of hunting even if he wasn't watching where he was going now but she did always have a soft spot for those in this situation. Had she not brought something back for that elderly wild dog she'd met not so long ago?

"Really?" -Soft surprise touched his face at the offer. How different she was to her own species. What would she think if she knew she'd offered a lion help? Ohh.. wouldn't that be poetic justice? To spend the day under her good graces, only to spring the truth on her before he left. Perhaps she'd learn something.

Shame that his mind wrapped so tightly around his game didn't seem to notice what else could happen. He could only imagine the reaction he wanted to see.-

"It'd be silly of me to turn down a kind offer like that.."

"I'd be thrilled to have some hunting company!" -He nodded strongly, brown head dipping up and down before he carried a few steps forward.- "Do you know the lands well?"

((Oh Lim.. Such a sleezeball when you want to be. XD))

This was a pleasant change, she decided, after what happened with Tego and then running into a god. Mleli beamed arrogantly when it was evident her offer was being accepted and was adequately appreciated. She wouldn't have withdrawn if it wasn't, but she would be a bit friendlier knowing it was.

"I am Mleli," she introduced herself as she stretched her legs quickly, expecting a return introduction and turning in the direction he'd been running. The leopardess had to wonder what scent it was he was following.

-Name.... Luckily, from years of silver tonguing his way through things, he didn't pause long enough to pull up suspision. Only for one moment did he waver, before offering the name tenderly. It didn't mean anything, simply an aversion to the first thought that'd hit him, the grapes that no longer adorned his tail.- "Groka. It's a pleasure to meet you Mleli."

-Lifting his nose gently, he prayed that some scent would touch him. Any sort of animal that he might conclude was the one he was after. But unfortnately one didn't come to front, only the soft subtle scents of the past treking of animal. So giving another sheepish grin, and a shrug of his shoulders, he whispered lightly.- "It seems to have gotten away while we were talking.. the plant scents are so strong in the jungle.. I guess we'll have to find something else to hunt down? If it's not too much trouble"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2007 4:58 pm

Mleli made no thought to any hesitation her latest acquaintance made before introducing himself, she was semi-occupied checking if there was some scent worth tracking out there. She did not find any, and looked back to him.

"Pleasure," she repeated with a small nod to his introduction, surprisingly not even thinking about the Limbuko when the word came up. With a second quick check, she had to agree with him, "It does seem whatever was about is gone now. If we don't find anything else there is always fish, water is not hard to track down."

-Fish was a good choice, and he nodded brightly at the suggestion, though for different reasons then might have seemed. While it might be enough to fill a leopard fairly fast, a fish wasn't enough to fill a lion. And as he wasn't really that hungry.. Well he probably would't make himself queasy scarfing an entire fish down in quise of hunger.

Yes.., it'd work quite well. And he smiled, looking back at the way she came.- "You came from the water didn't you? That I can smell."
