Light isn't all evil, just evil minded with the Death Note User Image

Well...He is but he isn't. Because of the later episodes, he isn't technically. However, since is his Kira, yes, he is. Then again, he kinda planned himself being innocent. That and he's kinda not evil too because he was just trying to make the world better... @_@ Wow...I think I have a conundrum (sp?) on my hands....Either way though, I love Light. ^_^

i believe that light used the deathnote with good intentions, but abused it and ultimately became what he was trying to rid of. but i still think he's cool. 3nodding

Yes. He is evil.

you can't just fully say he was evil. towards the beginning before he killed Raye Penber and Nayomi Misoura he was good. but I believe the killing of those two switched it over to evil intentions... oh and then the first attempt at killing L ((Lind L Taylor))

I think Light, in his own way, shouldn't be considered evil. The Death Note is evil, if anything. The sole purpose for the Death Note's exsistance is to murder anyone at any time. The Death Gods used the notes for one thing and one thing only: to kill.

Light used the Death Note with a purpose, which is more then what the shinigamis (sp?) did. Light is not evil, nor is he good. He is undefined. There's just no way to say one way or the other because there are too many ways you can look at it. You could say he was evil because he murdered people, but then you could say he was good because he also saved people from other people who were most definatly evil.

But, can he be considered a justifiable judge for those who committed those henious acts? After all, he's not a Death God, he's just a human.

No, I don't believe he's evil. His actions would be described as evil. I don't believe there are evil people. People are people, and the only thing that can be judged are there actions, and not themselves. I think he's just really naive and see's things as black and white. In a lot of ways, he's like Hitler.

[Until the end of time…]

In my opinion, I would say that Light's evil. Not just because he killed my favourite character, but the fact that he's killing everyone after him. And he calls himself "Justice"...Shame!
Ps. I'm new here too XD

Personally, I don't Raito is evil, he is just trying to purge the world of sinful criminals. His heart is in the right place, but he going about it the wrong way. Also he is taking on the pressure of keeping the identity, police, and about everyone. Plus the jail incident. All of that is just getting to his head, and making him edgy. Which is also making him loose his peace of mind. I'll admit there are better ways to handle things, but he is just..bored...supposedly..Well this is just my opinion. sweatdrop

L Lawliet`
I think its wrong but also good. In the end of Death Note it said that 70% of the worlds crime was gone. 70%! I think thats a good thing. Its only Raitos method of that happening. Im fine with all of the bad guys being killed though its just not right. I guess I'll never really decide.

um... does that include the number of people Kira/Light was murdering? cuz i would say the crime rate was going up...
anyway, Light was always a hipocrite, (like me sweatdrop ). Seriously, killing all of the murderers and then calling himself righteous? I don't think so.
then he becomes crazy and obsessed with trying to murder people (Like poor L and Raye Penber and Naomi Misora crying crying crying )

This reminds me of one of the reoccuring themes you see in Call of Cthulhu games... Someone picks up a questionable artifact then becomes corrupted by it... and ends up either going insane or getting killed from prolonged use of said artifact.

In the case of Light Yagami, he starts out good then picks up a Death Note and becomes corrupted by it. During the period where he got rid of it and lost all of his memories as Kira, Light pretty much reverted back to being the same good person he was to begin with. Once in possession of the Death Note again though, he goes back to being corrupted. While corrupted by the Death Note, Light is hardly what I would call a good person even if he claims to be acting for the greater good.
