I'd have to agree with a lot of stuff Kilarra was saying, along with some other people I can't remember the names of.
A post doesn't really need to be two paragraphs or longer, though thoses are kinda fun. A small paragraph will do as long as it has all the nessesary info. Cluttering isn't really a good idea, though I find it helps me at least to throw in a couple references to actions. That gets a little tricky since you've gotta be careful not to throw in to many details.
As for speech, if it's in the character to say lavish sentences, then by all means have at it. And throwing in thought isn't nessecarily a bad thing, since it let's readers as see what the character has in mind. It also helps the writer get into character. But writing should be treated with the same rules as speech.
As for the length of a post, I really don't think it needs to be exhorbantly long. People who are playing solo, or just aren't interacting with others are free to make it as long as they like, but if their in the same general area as another character they should probably leave some room for them to potentially interact.
I wouldn't suggest doing long posts when interacting with another player, and I find a trend to keep those posts short. You need to leave enough room for interaction to take place and, as mentioned above, long ones can fringe on power playing. In the long run, when you've put both players posts together, it'll have come out smoother and probably longer lived.

Sometimes it does... It annoys me when people ONLY use one liners but if it's just sometimes...I don't know... Sometimes ^^

I say a person's style should mesh well with the people they want to role play with. It helps if someone just takes the time to read what the rp is trying to accomplish as far as length goes.
Personaly I try to mix my posts up a bit, I throw in some action based ones, some dialog, and some thought ones... but everything in it's own time. I've never made it to posting the massive paragraph posts, but if I wanted that rp to have that effort I'd try for it.
