 JACK AND KAREN!
Flink officially loves that list. XD
Flink happens to think summoning Jack would be very... entertaining. If it didn't get you arrested first.

That's right--I'm reviving the thread all the way from the fourth page! Ahaha! HAHA! But before I go on a maniacal rampage, here's a list of who I'd actually consider summoning. From fiction...well...Star Wars.
Darth Bane: For the inner Sith in all of us. Peace is a lie, there is only passion, after all. The embodiment of all Sith teachings, summon Bane and through victory your chains will be broken. That pesky conscience won't bother you now.
Grand Admiral Thrawn: Putting two and two together has never been easier. An offering of art, perhaps, and your enemies are transparent. An addition would be the ysalamiri: push away all magickal and psionic effects in your personal bubble.
HK-47/HK-50's: A heavily bloodthirsty ally, perhaps? Or several ones capable of all sorts of violent electronic subterfuge? You need something or someone ******** up, you got it, meatbag.
Grievous: Pesky Jedi...I mean, Psions. Have a group of magickally proficients harassing you? A certain warlord may be able to help against that. Careful...invoke this warlord's spirit and grievous things may come your way...
Heh, so...has anyone actually seriously thought of looking into this? Not like I personally have anything to gain, but still....it'd be most interesting for experimentation. And I am a writer myself, so the subject just sparks further interest.

In the following long a** response the terms 'summon' and 'fake being' are used loosely. HOLY CRAP(esclamation mark) i acctualy have an adept understanding of what that is ands why it happenes! haha its quite simple realy.
when you summon an entity that isnt real or something, your thoughts emotions and energies and they take the form of your summoned thing (my EX: inuyasha) and it takes form on the astral plain. i cant recall what the form is called but its esentialy a homunculas or somehting along the lines of a fake being thats now being animated. the being will be there and have form as long as you give it energy via summoning it or something that gives it energy(obviously). to my awareness, the longer time and the more energy you give to the being, the longer it will be in existance, and the harder it will get to banish/destroy it.
realy, the question you should ask yourself before summoning one of these 'fake beings' is wether or not its morraly correct in your veiw. realy, its like abortion. you bring it to life, so you need to deside wether or not you will stop it before it gets out of your ability, or if youll be able to put yourself through ending its existance.
Thats right, fluffy finaly contributed to the guild in a way more then humor. cool
P.S: for the record, i would summon Leroy Jenkins...

Well, I didn't post in here yet? I could have sworn I did.
Okay, I listen to a wonderful Pagan podcast called Deo's Shadow. They had an episode interviewing the author of a book called "Pop Culture Magick".
It describes almost exactly what you're talking about here. smile You'd love the episode of the show as well as the book, I bet.

Mmhmmm...interesting~! But as Mitsh says earlier in this thread, the actual method to how it works could be anything. Abortion's an iffy subject for me, and I tend to care for anything with semi-sentience...so...yeah. I wouldn't be the type to create something like that and then "put it to sleep". >.< Anyway, I'd have a long way to go myself if I ever wanted to get there, seeing as I don't practice any sorts of magicks at all.
Edit: Removed something.

Aw man, I listened to that selfsame episode... of course, I've completely forgotten all about it. All I remember from Deo's Shadow is the line: "We're trying something new this time!" "Drinking during the podcast! =D" or something similar.

Joshua_Ritter Dungeons and Dragons has a more devoloped mythos and pantheons then a lot of real religions I know. Also regarding the dice roll comment I'm "prepared" for that... lol No, not loaded dice, I've just got a bag of dice because Mom gave me all of hers from her D&D days and I have even bought some... I like dice. 3nodding iolitefire If I could summon a fictional character, then I would totally summon Sephiroth. Why? Because of everyone has an inner fangirl. How many people actually know Sephiroth's character? I mean... I haven't played the game, but from my understanding from my friend who has (and is almost a total nut for it) and seeing the movie... and playing Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2... he is not something someone should try to summon. sweatdrop
