"I think because... if you hadn't said it... it would hurt. Because I think maybe I need you." He suddenly moved to hug her tightly, even though the billow of his cloak and the thickness of her coat got in the way.

Ghlyssa burrows herself into Riven, hugging him back as tightly as she can. "I think I need you, too." Her wings shift underneath the coat. "When I'm away, I miss you so much."

Riven smiled, feeling warm deep down inside all of a sudden. Funny that. He raised one hand, pushing the fabric of his cloak aside, and traced one finger down the line of her cheek. "The flowers you gave me, they crumpled... I was so worried. I still am worried, sometimes... but the flowers are blooming again now."

"They crumpled?" Glee considered this. "I guess that when... when..." She flushed and stammered and leaned into Riven's hand. "But they're doing better?" What a vaguely encouraging thought.

"Mmmhmm. They did. I think you will, too. In time." He gently shifted and moved his arms so that the cloak fell around both of them. "Have you been to the HQ yet, lately? I think everyone wants to see you. I don't think they all know where you are... there are so many little ones I think you haven't met yet. Yanisin, Zevulon, Devi... oh, you'll LOVE Devi, he's so cute... and Yani seems to be with animals like how you are with plants. Together you could talk to half the world."

"If you've changed...." He thought about this, carefully. "If you've changed, I think... well, all of us change. Like Yanisin. He went on a special quest and when he came back, he was blind..." He shook his head, looking distraught. "It was not good, but he... he is living with it. All of us are. I changed when I went to the Spirit Realm. Everyone changes. That's why I like it here so much... there is change. Some good, some bad." He squeezed her shoulder with one hand, through the coat, appearing to run out of words.

"There's good change, then?" Ghlyssa thought this over. "I suppose.... well... losing Mom was a bad change. Very bad. But... then I get good changes, like Bronnie and having a little sister around."

Riven nodded. "Bronwen likes you, then? I met her once, I think she likes me too." He grinned. "She's pretty cute. I haven't really met any other kids that weren't also Fa'e."
He brushed her cheek again. "Growing up is a good change, right?" he pointed out. "So many Fa'e have been growing. Mom says they're growing into their stories." He gives her a curious look. "What's your story like, Ghlyssa?"

"My story... my story is... a part of me went to learn, but I learned too much, and I can't go back. I suppose." Ghlyssa wondered how to put this in to words. "And now I'm here, but I'm only part of someone else, the Earthkeeper. And I'm the Earthkeeper but I'm me, too, because there's an Earthkeeper who I'm sort of part of and it's all very complicated." She sighs. "There. I guess that's my story."

Riven wrinkled his nose. "Anen is like that too. He said he used to be three things. I don't understand because I was always... always me." He shrugged. "Maybe Anen can help you understand?"
He chuckled quietly. "I remember looking down through Gabriel's stars - oh, yes, he's Hoshi now - and seeing how beautiful the world was. The earth. And you are beautiful." He leaned forward and brushed noses with her, not quite sure if he wanted to try that funny lip-smooshing thing yet.

Ghlyssa blushed and gave a nervous giggle, though she didn't loosen her hold on Riven at all. Rubbing noses, she remembered something.
And it was weird then, but sort of nice. And worth another try?
One, two, three. Smooch.
It was just a quick little kiss on Riven's lips, and she blushed darker immediately after and buried her face in his shoulder.

Riven blinked. "... that was better," he managed, outright laughing this time. "Much better than how I did it. I think I sort of fell into your face. C'mon now, look up." He ran one finger under her chin and tickled.
