She trilled lightly at the playing, before choosing to respond. "My owner likes to take all of us there at least once a month. She takes me seperately, because they're afraid of me."
She sounded almost proud...indeed, she was. The griffin kind of liked the idea of hmans fearing her, and even some other griffins. Good thing, too, because she really couldn't help it - her temper was short, and brilliant. It was much like a firecracker, except, unlike a firecracker, it lasted for an infinite amount of time.
Settling, and tossing her head to throw off some of the water Aeron had retaliated with, she snapped her beak at the water. It rippled and splashed up as she did so, something she found quite amusing. Oh! But she should probably keep speaking, shouldn't she...after all, Aeron's lack-of-bells had been in the back of her mind ever since she saw him back at the salon.
"Why were you sent? And why without bells?"

In all honesty, Aeron thought it was adorable, how scared the groomers were of Sekhmet. There was just something awfully endearing about it. Not that he would say this out loud, naturally; he had a feeling that Sekhmet wouldn’t appreciate being called ‘adorable’. It was far too cutesy. She could take ‘gorgeous’ or ‘beautiful’, but not ‘cutesy’.
His wings drooped a little as he heard her question. He didn’t want to admit that a human had taken away his bells. Maybe… maybe he could make up a story about another larger gryphon stealing them away? No, no, because then he would look weak. “Mal took them away and brought me there. He said something about something happening some time next week.” Now Aeron wished he had paid more attention to what his food-provider had said. As far as he had gathered, there was some sort of gathering of people next week and Malcolm would be there with Aeron. So, Aeron had to be ‘prettified’. Bah! Aeron was plenty attractive on his own without the help of humans!

That sounded all too familiar to Sekhmet. Somthing next week, the week after, in a few days...gatherings, parties...normally, one of the griffins of the Nefretiri household attended. Sekhmet or Elrok attended when a bit more security was needed, or when Iris' favorite human, that male that seemed to always find his way into their house one way or another, could not attend. Ma'at or Elrok went most often, truth be told. Sekhmet? Well...the groomers weren't the only ones afraid of her.
"What kind of something? It must be important..." Sekhmet mused..making it a point to lift herself and move closer to the drastically-less-foamy bird. "Whenever Iris mentions 'something', it's usually important. And she tends to only associate with important people - though that may not be by choice - ...regardless, she has met your master, so..is it important?"

“It better be important! I can’t imagine being forced into that… that place for something that isn’t important!” Aeron blurted out before he had a chance to think about it. It wasn’t long before he thought of a far more charming thing to say and he quickly tacked this onto the end of his previous statements. “And if you’re going to be there, then it would be very important to me. Naturally, he stretched out a wing towards Sekhmet.
Oh yeah. He was smooth when it came to talking to the lady gryphons. Truly, he hoped that there would be other gryphons there. He would get bored otherwise, but… well, Mal seemed to like showing him off. Humans were impressed by gryphons---no mystery there; they were, as far as Aeron was concerned, the most gorgeous creatures that had ever graced this world---but they liked trying to pet him.

Gah! Blushing, again. She turned her head to the side, away from him, lowering her beak to start playing with the water again. Why must he make her face do that thing?! She liked it, but at the same time, it was...ugh! She didn't know. She liked it, and it made her like him, but she just..didn't know.
"Thank you..." shesaid after a few moments, liting her head to play with some of the feathers near his beak with her own.
Deciding not to give him sufficient time in which to respond, she deftly lept from the water and onto the stone ground next to the fountain, shaking all over until all the excess water was on the ground, and all her fur and feathers were standing nearly on end. Looking up at him, she cocked her head a little. "Perhaps we should try that hunting now?"

D’aww! Sekhmet was adorable when she was all inarticulate and not sure of what to say next. This was another thing that Aeron decided was better off not being said. Aeron got his own dose of inarticulation as Sekhmet ran her beak through his feathers. Well, there was a touching gesture that he didn’t expect from her… no nips, bites or scratches or anything. Still, it was very pleasant.
Taking a moment to carefully clear all the soap away from his feathers, Aeron couldn’t help but watch as Sekhmet shook herself off. Now that was pure gryphon hotness. Except when her fur and feathers stood on end. That was pure gryphon amusement. Choking back his chuckles, Aeron got out of the fountain and shook himself off. Naturally, his fur and feathers poofed out as well, which he tried to ignore.
Grooming his feathers to make them calm down a little, he sidled up to Sekhmet to give her wings the same treatment. Besides, it seemed like a nice thing to do. She didn’t care for humans grooming, but she wouldn’t say anything if it was a handsome male gryphon, even if he had a habit of flirting with every female within a five mile radius… right?
Hunting! Yes, hunting. That would be a good idea right about now. Unfortunately, in the city there wasn’t much to hunt beyond dogs, cats, and rats. Rats were tiny, dogs tasted funny, and cats had a tendency to remind Aeron of gryphon chicks. Ah well, most of hunting was just wandering around anyway.
“Let’s get going then. Whatever’s out there won’t hunt itself. Well, except for humans. It’s… odd. They seem to hunt one another quite often.” He reflected on the various humans he had noticed following Mal around, and how Mal seemed to follow certain humans. Yes, they were puzzling creatures.

Sekhmet wasn't used to letting other griffins touch her that often, but his preening felt nice, so she let him do it. She was unsure if his flirting was just flirting or not, but...whatever. Sekhmet could always maul him if she got fed up.
Somehow, mauling him seemed like one of the most horrible things in the world! How unusual....was that a good thing?
She trotted along behind him, enjoying the cooling effect that the night air had on her feathers. The griffin vaguely wondered what kind of prey they would be going for. She didn't often get to hunt - her food was normally delivered on a silver platter, and hunting was more of a rare sport for her than anything else...
Hmmm...."Do you think we could get away with getting out of this place? I know that place we went to is pretty tight, they'll probably have people there....maybe....but I think prey would be better out there."

“You mean out of the city?” Hmm… yes, there would be guards on the walls and all, but walls were easy to fly over. People tended to forget about the whole ‘gryphons can fly’ thing. And going outside of the city was pretty appealing since the hunting would be a lot better. It was touch to impress a girl when the only prey available was rats.
There was the niggling worry in his mind that, if he left the city, he would be responsible for Sekhmet. She was younger than him. Not by much, admittedly, but younger nonetheless. This worry only remained for a few seconds as he recalled the more obvious: they were both hungry and they wouldn’t find much out here. Sure, he had once managed to steal a pie from someone’s windowsill, but Mal had been pretty annoyed about that. Or maybe he had been annoyed by the fact that Aeron had been sick all over his shoes. Aeron wasn’t quite sure, since humans were so difficult to understand.
The idea that Mal would be angry about Aeron mauling several groomers, destroying harmless plant life, and then leaving the city didn’t occur to the gryphon.

"Yes....beat you to the limit!"
Her competative side took flight as she beat her wings and pumped herself up to the skies, squawking a challenge down to him. Though she was not yet completely grown, she took pride in her flying skills, deciding to do a mid-air backflip to show off. Hovering in the air for a moment, she waited for him to take off after her.
Indeed, this was a bit of a test. Was he competative enough for her? She couldn't take any interest in a griffin who was a pushover. Not that she thought he was...but she wanted proof. A tough, handsome exterior was one thing. Sekhmet wanted someone who was willing to fight! This wasn't much of a battle, but...it was the concept that counted.
"You coming?" she squawked playfully down.

Aeron experienced a moment of horrific confusion and ambivalence. On one hand, he loved to win. It was one of those things that kept him going. Not just winning, but just the competition! Every day was a competition, a test to prove just how great he was! Winning was one of the best parts though. But, Sekhmet liked winning too. Everyone did! Would she get upset if she lost? Should he let her win? If so, how could he make sure that it wasn’t obvious? She was a bright gryphon and would be able to tell unless he was really careful…
Eventually, Aeron’s brain simply shut down. Females were so confusing… humans were lucky they didn’t have to deal with this. They didn’t have wings, so they didn’t have to deal with flight contests. Since his brain was broken, Aeron started working on automatic. His wings spread out and he launched himself from the ground, flapping furiously to catch up with Sekhmet.
A contest? Fine. She would get a contest, and she had better not complain if she lost. Aeron didn’t want to let her win and he got the feeling that she didn’t want to be ‘allowed’ a win. She wanted to earn it, which meant there was a chance she might not get it.
“Are YOU coming?” he trilled right back at her as he gradually overtook her.
ooc| Alright... to decide the winner, let's roll one six-sided dice. Whoever rolls the higher number wins. :3

Sekhmet squawked a laugh - a slightly panted, irritated laugh - and pumped her wings harder and harder. He was indeed older, but that could mean a number of things. Like, him having to work harder to fly faster, since he was heavier. And....bigger wings? Yeah, that helped him. Nevermind.
Apparently, an updraft caught him, or..something, because suddenly, she found herself overtaking him. Trilling in deight, she let herself glide, taunting him, letting him catch up a little...before speeding ahead again. She lowered her head to be even with her body, pinning her ears back, making her as streamlined as possible. Hah, at this rate, she could be a racing griffin!!
When she looked down, she noticed that the city limits were just in sight. Speeding ahead still, she didn't bother to look back..until she was on the ground, panting and waiting for Aeron to finally land. When he did, she trotted up next to his..rather defeated looking form, copying him when he sprawled out on the grass.
"That was fun!....I like a male who will compete, you know." she stated, a hint of joyful amusement in her voice
((Sorry if I kinda took control of him for a line >.>....couldn't think of another way to get her all close XD))

With his arrogance, Aeron honestly hadn’t expected Sekhmet to win. She was a city-raised creature, one who had known luxury all her life. He, on the other hand, was a wild-bourn gryphon, one who lived his life based on his own strength and speed. He was very surprised when the black female overtook him. She was much faster than he had expected. Flapping his wings furiously, he attempted to catch up with her, but, due to the updraft---and, yes, she was just plain faster than he---he couldn’t catch up.
…well, this was humbling. He touched the ground, a little disappointed, but oddly pleased. Sekhmet had won and was able to keep her pride, and Aeron was able to keep his own. Well, most of it. Sprawling lazily out on the grass, he tried to make it look as if he wasn’t that tired. Females liked a male with endurance.
Oh. She liked it. Aeron puffed up a little, very pleased with his decision to actually try to win. Also, he was pleased that Sekhmet didn’t think that he had allowed her to win. It was always annoying when that sort of thing happened.
“You’re well worth competing with, Sekhmet,” he said, deciding to take the opportunity for a flirtation. As if he ever actually gave up a good flirtation…

Sekhmet felt a good bit of pride at knowing how she beat him. That probably wasn't a good thing, given her already developed ego..but oh well. It really didn't matter who won, she just wanted him to compete. And for once, she felt like he did compete. Normally the other party just let her win - Ma'at, Elrok...irritating. Now that she thought about it, no wonder why she had such a bad mood at home.
"Mmm...as are you, Aeron." she replied, a light trill moving through her throat...and then, she got an idea. Another test. "I wonder if you are so good at hunting..."
Would questioning his skills at the one thing he should probably best at? Maybe. Not that she would mind - anger was hot.
