Some Buddhist and Shinto monks can levitate, they seem to do a lot of that "mind-over-matter" stuff. Some Chinese children can stick their hands straight through a glass jar and pull an object through without harming either the object or the jar. No, I'm not making a steryotype by saying Chinese instead of Asian, the ability is concentrated in China, as far as I'm aware.

You study alot into different cultures and meta-physics, don't you? I do, too! Can't get enough! confused

Starlock
I've had similar sensations, but as I still can't seem to figure out what the hell people mean by "astral projection" I don't bother to label the experience. There was also one time that it felt as if I was levitating a stone. Note that it didn't physically levitate (far as I'm concerned that is impossible in this plane of reality) but it felt that it did and that was... somewhat strange. Heh.

Hi-Astral Projeting is just being aware of how to have your soul, spirit, whatever leave your body temporarily-free of this physical burden and be able to travel anywhere you want to go, and see whatever you want in a short time and then return back into your body, In other words-travel anywhere without buying the air fare, even to the other side to view the akashic records in the hall of records, about anyones life(past, present or future) except your own, in this lifetime, of course-to protect you from anxiety or worry. You can even astral project out into space as far as you want to go, visit other planets, etc. When doing it, you see a silver cord-kinda like an umbilical cord, attached to your body and your spirit. Don't worry, it can't snap or separate you so you can't get back in, but people will try to tell you rumors that it happens. Go on line or read more about astral projecting if want to learn more. I heard that everyone astral projects at least 3-4 times a week and sometimes don't remember it, just like dreams, but we all do it even if unaware of it. That's why we so often feel like or dream that we are flying, or kick our feet out in our sleep, or just before fully asleep or jump while dreaming! Ever do that?

This level we are on now in this life on EARTH is one of the only existences of our many lives we can have where we have a physical body. Imagine how nice not to be burdened with a body, how free and easy to get around, and no illnesses, with no physical bodies, like on other side! Would(will) be awesome!

Where did you hear about the children sticking their hands through glass jars?

It's kinda my job. I find religion to be an interesting subject, martial arts are a passion of mine, and if I didn't study metaphysics, I probably wouldn't be in this guild. ^_^

I've levitated before, but it wasn't a conscious act of will. Here's the story:

I can't remember exactly what age I was, though I do believe that I was either nine, or eleven. My family lived in Minnesota, but almost all of my extended family lived in Texas. So, like we did a few times a year, we packed up our stuff and drove down for a week or so with the grandparents. (The ones on my mother's side, that is.)
Anyways, me and my brother, who is my senior by four years, were set to share the same room at my grandparent's house. The room had two twin beds in it, with a nightstand between.

We both lay down for bed one night, and as was our custom whenever we'd share a room, we talked. Now, at my father's house (my mom and dad divorced when I was young), me and my brother shared the upstairs, which was really a converted attic. The custom of ours that I mentioned was to talk until one of us stopped talking, indicating sleep, and then the other would go to sleep as well.
So there we are, whispering to each other about who-knows-what. After awhile of this, and during a lengthy pause in the conversation, I fell asleep.

(The following segment takes place in my dream)

I find myself in the middle of a Tuscan town. At least, it looked like what I'd imagine a Tuscan town looking like, though I've never seen one.. The buildings were mainly red brick or that weird white clay that looks vaguely like pueblos. This town bordered a cliff. And when I say bordered a cliff, I mean it. It looked as if someone had simply taken a whole town and put a massive cliff down the center of it. As it was, buildings sat mere feet from the edge of the cliff, which preceded to drop a few thousand feet to a cracked and barren desert floor.
So here I am, in the middle of this rustically scenic town, when all of the sudden an urgency hits me.
A soldier breaks into my view, dressed vaguely like a Nazi SS, but with a red suit instead of a black one. This man, and soon about twenty matching soldiers start chasing me through the town. I have no idea why naziesque soldiers were chasing me, but they were.
Eventually the chase leads me to the very edge of the cliff. I'm running along the side of it, the soldiers pacing me to my left, when suddenly a brick gives way from under my feet. (The people of the town, who were never seen, had apparently paved the cliff side, since it bordered their houses.) The brick gives way and I find myself falling. The air rushes past me with exhilarating force as I plummet towards the desert below. The fall isn't frightening, but simply magnificent. It was like flying, except directly downwards.

After a minute or so of falling (It's a big cliff) I see the desert floor coming up to meet me. But even more interesting is that, on the desert floor, there's a bed. It's a twin bed, and in that twin bed is a sleeping boy. That sleeping boy is, of course, me. So here I am, falling towards a sleeping version of myself at a very high speed. Collision is imminent.
We collide.

(The following segment takes place in real life)

I awake to a hideously high-pitched blood curdling scream. I turn, trying to find out what's going on. Or, at least, I attempt to turn.
Instead of turning, I find myself falling through the air, spinning slightly because of my turn attempt. I hit the twin bed upon which I'd fallen asleep after a second, and instantly prop myself up on one arm to stare at my still-screaming brother. A yelled "Be quiet! Go to sleep!" comes from my grandparents room just down the hall.
My brother stops screaming, and after a minute of him catching his breath and me giggling at his screaming, he calms down enough to get some speech out of him.

"What on earth were you screaming about?!" I asked in an intense whisper.
He looks at me dumbfounded for a moment, confusion sprawled across his face. "What do you mean?" He asks, shocked that I don't know. "I was talking to you, and I look over, and I see you floating like four feet in the air!"
"What?" I, having woken up recently, couldn't quite grasp what he was saying, but his next statement made it very clear.
"You were levitating!"
----
So, there's the story. The way I found out that I was levitating was because of my brother. So I either know that it happened, or that we both hallucinated the same thing.
