Hivu laughed playfully, "Not if you keep low to the ground." She said happily, "The grass might hide most of it." She quite liked how Nac was a perfect blend of herself and Lim. Her markings and her eyes, with Lim's purple and the vine mark on his tail. He perfectly represented the two of them.
"But it's not really what you call fun. It's very serious business." She added, stopping her laughing. Her tone was kind, but no longer as playful. "You have to understand that it is not a game. Hunting is dangerous, and even if you succeed, other scavengers may try to take your kill from you." She warned.
"Hyenas can be very dangerous, so if I tell you to run back to the jungle, you have to promise me that you'll go and not worry about me, alright?" She couldn't live with herself if she lost the last of her children... It was a miracle that she hadn't gone mad with sorrow over her daughters. Nac was the only thing keeping her from giving up all hope.

He grinned wiggling his bum and prancing around. When his mother turned serious he tilted his head. "Yessum. If they tried I could run and find uncle tego!" He said with a nod.
"Then we wouldn't have to worry about them. He acts like a big enough meanie to scare them off just by saying boo." He grinned, he wasn't joking he was being just as serious as Hivu was, if not more. His tail flickered. "When I'm older I'll be be big enough to make sure they don't pick on us, won't I mother?" He asked looking up at her with a grin.

Hivu's heart sank as Tego's name was mentioned again. She didn't let it show though, just laughed. "Alright, but I don't know if he'd want to save me, he doesn't get along with me too much." She said, smiling as best she could, trying once again to push it from her mind.
"I'm sure you will, dear." She said honestly. Hivu had no doubt that Nac would be much larger than she was when he was fully grown. Any half lion half leopard would be bigger than the average leopard, but Nac was half god, and those were even bigger. "But you still have to be careful."

He nodded, "Well if he doesn't then he's got air in his head." His tail flickered.
"I will!" He paused and thought for a moment. "If nothing else I could always sit on him." A grin and a chuckle, "If they're not too big that is." He pranced around hoping onto a rock.

Hivu chuckled again, "Yes well the two of us have had some rough times." She said simply, shrugging.
"I suppose you could." She nodded, "I personally have never seen one, but I hear that they like to steal from other animals, and can be vicious about it." She said, a look of disgust on her face. She glanced upward, they were almost at the waterfall now, which was good, because she was beginning to get hungry.

"Oh, well maybe they're not all mean." He said with a nod, "I mean there's good somewhere in everyone isn't there?" His tail flickered as his tummy growled. "Ugh hush..." He muttered looking at his tummy before getting distracted by a butterfly. "Ohhhh Butterfly!" He pranced after it pawing and playing with it following it towards the water fall.

"Maybe, but better safe then sorry." She agreed, swishing her tail. "Careful not to fall in, dear." Hivu laughed as she followed her son, though at a distance that made sure that she wouldn't scare the butterfly away from him. She didn't want to ruin his fun.

He nodded looking to his mother for a second, "I won't." He called before looking back for the butterfly who landed on his nose... Uh-oh... he wiggled his nose, "Ah.... Ahhhh... AHCO" He sneezed and the little butterfly flew off. "Wait come backkk!!" He said bounding after it.

Hivu laughed and watched her son chase after the butterfly, remembering when she used to do that. She shook her head with a chuckle and went over to the river near the base of the waterfall, staring into the crystal clear water, waiting for a fish to come.

One the butterfly was out of his reach Nac sighed and went on to start picing more flowers, after find the ones he'd dropped after he sneezed. As he picked them he piled them up in a little bunch until he had enough to do what he wanted to do with them.
Before starting he sunk his way over to the water for a drink looking at his reflection he fluffed his 'mane' and murred prancing back over to his little work site. Mother'd fish, he'd nibble a little off of anything left. Or he might find one he wanted to naw on after he finished. He picked up two flowers of the same color and started that long process to make them into a crown or a necklace.

Hivu barely noticed Nac had stopped chasing the butterfly, she was completely focused on the task at hand. She watched the fish carefully, waiting. Finally, one wandered a little too close to the edge and in on swift motion, it had been snatched up out of the water and flopped helplessly an the bank. It was a big one, the closer to the waterfall, the larger the fish, Hivu had learned.
Without a second thought, she began to eat. After a few bites, the fish was completely still, and Hivu was right to assume it was dead. She turned back to the river to catch another for her son, now that the risk of losing her catch was gone.

Looking at his mother he watched the fish come out of the water and her making sure it was dead. He blinked and kept working on the flower necklace.
Pink, purple, white, blue, and so continues the pattern. He hummed as he worked tail flickering contintly.

A moment later, Hivu had snared another fish, ever so slightly smaller than the last, and brought it over to Nac. She left it flopping around near a rock, though not so close that it could damage his beautiful flower creation, or get back to the river.
"That's very pretty, Nac." She said warmly, fetching her fish and beginning to eat beside him.

Nac grinned, "Thank you mother." He stuck another couple of flowers into the necklace to complete the circle.
One he finished the circle he hopped over to the finish and bit off a chunk of the flesh and chewed on it going back to his necklace. Making sure not to get his paws dirty that's the last thing he needed on the flower necklace.

Hivu nodded and nibbled on her fish thoughtfully, patiently waiting for him to finish his creation.
Now that she wasn't thinking about anything in particular, Hivu's mind began to wander, once again she was faced with mental images of Tego, her daughters, Lim, and even Ixachy. Hivu was so absorbed in her painful memories that tears rolled down her face without her noticing, dripping onto the soft ground silently. She couldn't bear looking at the happy, bright colors of the necklace, so she looked at the ground near her paws, tears flowing freely. She no longer cared if Nac saw her crying, it hurt too much to keep it all in.
