His eyes jerked open, and he quickly sat up. Raising his maw to face the sky, he closed his eyes and concentrated. He was sure that he had heard some sort of a commotion just a second ago. It sounded a little like a blast, but this was supposed to be a deserted place... Wait, there was the sound again.
Standing up and flicking his hair over his shoulders, Sesshomaru could smell blood belonging to some sort of creature... Maybe a spider. Although he had heard tales of those giant creatures living in this part of the forest, he hadn't seen one before. However, it seemed to him that someone was fighting against these presumably large spiders.
"Vynnessia?" He thought to himself as he leapt between spiders to where the female was, in the middle of all the spiders. Concentrating a large amount of poison on his claws, he leashed out at the nearest spider and sliced it neatly in half.
"Are you alright?" He asked, feeling a little awkward as he killed one spider after the other. There were a lot of them, and they just kept coming. He knew that if this keeps up, someone was bound to get injured. These spiders were fairly weak, but in huge numbers, they can be dangerous.

“Levicorpus!” she yelled again blowing away some more spiders, there were so many. She growled again “Impedimenta!” Vynnessia yelled. Vynnessia didn’t noticed the swift form of the demon lord behind her for a few moments the battle had been keeping her busy “AH?!” Vynnessia said speechless she didn’t even know why he was here, but Vynnessia was glad for the help “Sesshomaru?” she said his name surprised he had come at all. Let alone he leapt in front of her she would ask what he was doing here latter now was not the time or the place.
Vynnessia flattened her ears her fur stood on end; she waved her wand again aiming at a spider and shouted “Impedimenta!” once more she wouldn’t let them near her. She was facing the opposite of Sesshomaru, no point in letting them attack with some one’s back turned. One came from above its mandibles ready to sink into her sin “Impedimenta!”
She yelled and sent it flying backward one of its eight legs had drawn blood. Vynnessia paid no attention to it and continued fighting yelling her spells. She would gain more wounds before this fight ended.
Vynnessia nodded to him after seeing the spiders had finally given up and were retreating. “I’m fine thank you” she replied breathing heavily her adrenaline high. By the time the end had come Vynnessia was scuffed up quite well and her fair peach fur was spattered with fresh and dried blood. The wizard kitsu leaned up against a large tree for support.
Now what was that healing spell? She tried to think of it but her thoughts were fuzzy and unfocused. Vynnessia’s vision blurred from the amount of blood she had lost she felt weak and lightheaded. Vynnessia shook her head trying to get rid of the feeling; she was fine. Vynnessia told herself trying not to fall over. Vyn unknowingly dropped her wand she heard it hit the ground but it sounded so far away… Everything sounded so far away, Vyn couldn’t figure out why. Darkness crept in around the edges of her sight before she finally became limp and fell into the welcoming unconsciousness.

This sort of battles were common from the warring states. Minor demons exist in large groups, and thought that if they attacked together, could take over his body and absorb his soul. However, his pure demonic aura alone often prove too much for them to handle, and they all end up being sent to hell. That was way he came out of the fight without too much injury. The scratches that he had received will heal within a day.
Relaxing as the spiders retreated, Sesshomaru turned around only to see that Vynnessia had collasped under a nearby tree. Seeing that she still smelt like the living, he walked away to where he saw a river. He grabbed a leaf and rolled it, with some difficulty, into a cup shape. Then, using his mouth, he dipped the cup into the river and carried water back to Vynnessia's side.
Using the water, he washed off some of the blood and dirt stuck on her fur to lessen the risk of infection. Using the remaining water, he washed the bigger wounds. Following that, he pushed her into a more comfortable position before sitting down in front of her body. This was going to be a long night.

Vyn woke after a few hours and slowly opened her eyes. The picture was still fuzzy but it slowly began to focus.Were was she? the thought came to her mind. Vynessia blinked gaining awareness, looking at her arms to see most of the blood had been cleaned off and her wounds were clean as well. Vyn tried to get up pain shot through her, she winced. SHe noticed Sesshomaru "Did you help me?" she asked her friend, Vyn hadn't needed help from anyone before,. SHe gave a chilish smile "Thank you" she said.

Sesshomaru shifted his attention to the injured kitsu, blinking when she moved. He stayed silent for a moment before replying in a firm voice, "You do know that it's best for you to stay out of harm's way. I do not have the time to help if it happens again."
The demon lord seemed to have returned to his unfeeling self, but continued with a soft, "You're welcome."
"Do you wish to return to the HQ?" Seeing that the building would probably be safer, it was wiser to return. Although Vynnessa do not seem to be able to walk properly, he didn't feel... Right, leaving her alone in the forest while he heads for safety.

Vynnessia nodded to the scolding although she would probably be out latter anyway she had just been careless which for her was unusual. She smiled "I'm Glad you had time then" she said Vynnessia rubbed her paw over some of her wounds; the wizard kitsu would heal these latter. Vynnessia heard his quiet words but said nothing and only replied with her cheerful smile despite her wounds.
Vynnessia nodded "Sure I just have to get something" she said remembering her stash of herbs and potion ingredients then a sharp pain through her forearm reminded her she had been hurt, it would be fine and she wouldn't complain she was stronger than she looked. She enjoyed this seemingly cold kitsu's company and she feared if she said something wrong he would leave.
Vynnessia stood with moderate difficulty, but then came the worse part... walking. Vynnessia put one paw in front of the other even though pain shot through her like a thousand tiny heated needles. Until she reached her small stash and pulled the flasks and bottles filled with things out. "Don't tell anyone ok" she smiled after all it was her 'secret stash' and she had more than just potion things inside.

Sesshomaru silently nodded. He don't really have anyone to tell it to anyway... And did he gave the impression that he was someone who would go around spilling the secrets of others? He walked over to Vynnessia, and lifted one of her front paws over his shoulders, "It'll be easier for you to walk."
With that, he took one tentative step forward and waited for her to follow suit.

Vyn smiled and nodded then turned a slight bit pink as he lifted her paw "Thank you" she said again leaning on him for suppord her bag of stuff in the other paw. Vyn walked with him her ruffled but still graceful tails trailed behind her.

It wasn't a particularly long way back to the HQ, but because Vynnessia wasn't able to walk properly, they took longer than expected. By the time he took her arm off his shoulders in the building itself, it was already sunrise. The sky was lit up in brilliant warm colors; orange, red, even a little bit of pink.
"You're... Welcome." He answered, before directing her a question. "Do you feel better?"
{So? How do we continue this? =o}

It was earlier than Remus Lupin was accustomed to arriving at headquarters. Oh, he had often been here at this time -especially when sleeping with Ember & Nari- but those wonderful times had started the day before. Still there was a reason for this early morning jaunt. The wizard knew Liliana was still taking her potions lessons in the morning & hoped to catch her before they started. He sighed as he came from the kitchen. They used to be so close... but ever since Nari & he had told their first children about their upcoming siblings Liliana had hardly spoken to him. Sometimes she would return home to their library tired and still curl up against him for sleep, but whether she was too tired to talk or simply feigned tiredness to avoid talking Remus did not know.
She spent much time on her potions lessons, that he knew. Too much time, perhaps. Liliana needs friends... she needs to go out and have fun... Remus sighed, glancing towards the potions classroom & seeing it still unoccupied. At least she seemed to have a few, if the other night was any indication. He had spoken with Ginny & Trelweny about the matter but although both girls seemed to know a bit more than he did they were not open with the information. It was too nebulous to guess at, they had said in their own ways -implying that to say what little they knew would be like spreading half formed rumors.
Wrenching his gaze away Remus turned to the sound of the door opening. His heart clattered in his chest. His youngest daughter... his baby girl (until the new litter was born) injured by the look of her. Remus' quick mind saw that the wounds had been cleaned but that she needed another to help her walk... "Vynnessia!"
The call of his voice was sharp with concern and worry as he rushed to her side. "Vynnessia, what's happened?" His eyes looked up to meet those of the male's who had just removed her foreleg from his shoulders. For the first time in a very long time Remus felt extremely young again. There was a feeling of timelessness or agelessness about this kitsu he could not put a claw on. His own eyes spoke something different at that moment: concern, thanks, gratitude, & hope for perhaps an answer. "You helped her." It was not a question. Remus could see the scratches on the demon-kitsu that were already healing. "Thank you."

Vyn watched the sky change colors during the time they brightened and became more brilliant as the time passed and Vynnessia know they would eventually merge into the mid day sky blue color. Vynnessia nodded "I feel much better thank you" she said. By how the pain had subsided greatly and she did feel better, although she wasn't sure about walking on her own yet shedidn't want to insult her friend. earlier she had taken some parts off the spiders to add to her potions. She had dug roots, taken leaves and flowers and various things.
"Vynnessia!" came her name from HQ, it sounded so worried, it was Remus her father. Oh no! she had hopped he wasnt around so she could heal them herself and not worry her father. When he asked what happened she explained about and how she was careless "Its really nothing I'll be fine" she nodded, well she would be fine after a good batch of healing spells and bed rest for a few days.
Vyn let go of Sesshomaru and leaned against something and smiled kindly to her father. She hid the pain that it had caused her to move like that, she really didn't want him to worry.

Sesshomaru nodded, stepping aside when he saw Remus. Judging by the tone and expression of the male kitsu, Sesshomaru guessed that the two must be related somehow. His musings were confirmed the moment she called him 'father'. Well, at least she'll be fine now. For the third, or probably fourth, time that day, he replied, "You're welcome."
It was seriously becoming a bad habit.

It was a father's place to worry and a father worried about one daughter was even more likely to be easily worried about another. Especially Remus who was known to be a bit prone to worrying. He worried about Vynnessia's carelessness and that he should have been there for her -only to admonish himself that his kits were adults now and he could not baby them any longer. Not that he had ever really babied them, but he had to accept that they had their own lives. He sighed, looking both thoughtfully sad & worried but only asked. "Is there anything I can do?"

"I'm Fine father" she smiled trying to lessen hia worrying then thougt "a healing spell or potion would help" she smiled, perhaps if he helped her it would make him feel better. She was glad her father worried about her yet at the same time she disliked worrying her parents.Vynnessia straightened and looked at her wounded arm. She really did do it this time.

Sesshomaru walked away from the two wizards, and sat down at a corner, golden eyes looking intently at the two. Their relationship was so 'at ease', and he could see that they were comfortable around each other. He knew that his father cared for both him and his half-brother, but their relationship was never this simple.
Besides, it was difficult for his father to show his care. For as long as he could remember, he had never caused any trouble for his old man, and he died shortly after Inuyasha was born. The care came from the two swords that he had left for each of them, in the hope that they won't kill each other. Although he no longer feels bitter towards Inuyasha, he can't say that he had any good family relations...
