My suggestion is to flirt back with him, but not too obviously. Laugh at his jokes (which I'm sure he's making), find some way to touch him (something cheesy, like brushing invisble fluff off his shoulder), and other things that make the butterflies go crazy in your stomach. Cherish the butterflies, you will start to miss them when you get into those serious, two or three year relationships. Mainly just let him know you like him too, so that if he actually does like you, he'll know that you won't reject him and he's in the clear.

you guys make it seem so simple! that wont work in my situation! i like a guy who just broke up with my best friend. he also shows me card tricks, and tells me jokes, and in science class he asked me to be his partner! but sadly one of my best friends already asked me, so i turned him down, even though i wnated to turn my friend down. are his actions a sign that he likes me? if he does... HELP ME! it would be odd to start being flirty with him since im around my best friends a lot. he has the same schedule as me, but so does my friend. he also shout my name across the whole classroom just to ask me a question!

Guys will come and go, but best friends stick aroud forever. If you really do like your best friend, then you may just have to put this guy to the side. I know it sucks, but you'll probably end up going out with this guy for a week and break up, then you will have no boyfriend and no best friend.

I agree, I could never hurt my best friend, so all-in-all I would never do that. God, I feel completely useless, the guy who apparently used to like is going with another girl and I've just given up. I've Graduated and I won't be going back to the school unless I go to visit my friends there, so I see no point anymore....god, this is a depressing subject

I go to a small school and everyone knows everyone so nobody is really shy around anybody also we've all been together in school for the last 3 years so nothing is really new (as far as people)

I'm a guy and i don't really understand the whole asking out process but... I say, be direct. Ask him if he likes you. It's as simple as that. Whether you feel weird or not, it'll eventually blow over. Atleast your not from japan. Once you ask someone out and ur rejected, thats the end of ur friendship.

Really? Is that true? I had no idea, I really know nothing about the Japanese culture other than the little my teacher taught me about his japanese wife that and anime, and just like hollywood is a poor representation of american culture, I"m sure anime is a poor representation of japanese culture.

But Honey and Clover is a nice romance anime that is really funny.
