He rolled his golden eyes over-exaggeratedly, but secretly he felt relief wash through him. Good. She hadn't picked up on anything. He didn't have to worry, and he didn't have to sacrifice this nice resting spot. He felt a bit calmer, though good-naturedly miffed that she was now teasing him.
But, being in a better mood now that the 'danger' had passed, he could indulge in this little game the way he wouldn't have dreamed of doing when they first met. "Some girls are as bad as us boys. A mean girl like you is probably one of them!"

Kwaruza laughed, "Mean now am I? Well I think someone needs to look at their reflection in the water!" She laughed and sat us straight, her head being held high.
She looked at him again and laughed, "Anyway, even if I am mean, I'm not ugly like you are!" She couldn't help but laugh loads. She was finding this highly amusing. He was a strange leopard but he seemed nice and Kwaruza was certain she had found a friend who she could continually tease!

Before he could stop it, his eyes flicked to the water, before he pulled them away and looked haughtily at her. "There's nothing wrong with my reflection. You're the mean one, so perhaps you should take a closer look at yours."
Siti then pretended to look vastly affronted. "Ugly? Ugly? You need to make up your mind; earlier on, I had magnificent colouring. Which is it?" His affronted look vanished, and he tilted his head at her with an eyebrow raised, as though he'd just managed to catch her out in something.

Kwaruza laughed even more.
"Your colour maybe magnificant but I am afraid it seems to have landed on an unworthy body. It seems you just dont look after yourself and that makes you ugly and ruins that beautiful colour." She was proud with her comeback even if it was a little feeble!

Sitirika had to chuckle. That was one way to get around it.
"It's hard to look after oneself when one travels as much as I do," he said haughtily, then sniffed for added effect, curling his tail slowly around his paws. "I can't help it if my coat suffers a bit." There was truth behind his statement, though, even when said in a joking manner.

Kwaruza laughed. "Maybe you should bath more often, then you could get rid of that horrible smell!" She smiled, though she tried not to, trying to make it seem more serious but she just couldn't do it. She just had to keep laughing, no matter what it was she tried to do!
"Anyway, whether you smell, are dirty and probably the meanest leopard in the world, I find you funny."

Sitirika raised an eyebrow and looked askance at Kwaruza, the tip of his tail flicking slightly. He was funny? When had that happened? He was just a grump who preferred to be alone than to have company. His social nicety skills were severely lacking; how, then, could this lioness think of him as funny?
"Funny?" he queried. "How so?"

Kwaruza chuckled.
"Have you not heard a thing either of us have just said!" Her blue eyes looked at him, a smile on her face and all in all she looked like the happiest lioness the world had seen and that was all because she had made friends with a random leopard who had made her laugh.

Sitirika looked at her with his head tilted, obviously yet again not totally sure why Kwaruza was laughing at him. He saw nothing funny about what he'd been doing; not funny enough for this much laughter, anyway. "Obviously I haven't. What was so funny about it?"
