This crazy shop in camden. Its underground and theres a load of clothes before you get to all the Cds. You can even buy gig tickets there. Else I speak to a guy called Rusty at our local metal merchedise Market stall, he used to own a shop, but got closed down. (lack of business etc.) I just talk to him and he orders it for you.
You can usually see him at a few of the black metal gigs in london too. Hes the grey haired guy with glasses, kinda stands at the back...

Amoeba Music, Hollywood, ********! heart this place has EVERY metal album you've EVER heard. i found Anders Friden (vocals for In Flames, for teh noobs)'s side project which failed tremendously, PASSENGER, which is an EXTREMELY hard find when looking in stores.

it's not metal, but i also picked up a japanese import of Radiohead's "Pablo Honey" biggrin i'll always have a love for good ol' indie.

I usually buy at this little obscure place in my area called Darkrealm,that mostly does Black and Death Metal, they have some pretty rare s**t down there, or I go to a Ritmo Latino Store around LA. Youd be suprised how much metal youll fiind in a place like that lol.

Best Buy. sweatdrop What?! Their prices are the best I've seen retail and they have a great selection. I've gotten one or two things at Borders, as I'm a member and get coupons there. Otherwise, the best way is to just order online direct through Century Media or Nuclear Blast USA. Best prices, and the best selection. It's the only place I've been able to find my Black Majesty and Darkane CDs.
