I had problems with this on the bass, just get rythym down, it may sound hard, but practice a little and you can find the beat of a song anywhere and then it shall become much easier.

i know what your talking about.
when i'm playing at guitar center i play alot beter
mabye its because i fell presured to play better than just jaming by myself

I play for eight hours a day, on average. when I first started playing that seriously, my timing got fifty times better. mrgreen If you practiced a lot the previous day, or earlier that day, that may be why.
