Terra swore, threw back his head, and started laughing. "That's it!?" He asked, still laughing. "That's all you remember? Oh, it's not like our entire lives have been centered around him since we were born, so it's a BIG surprise you remember him!" Terra shook his head. "Damn it, Ven." He muttered.

Xehanort walked through the winding halls of the castle towards Ansem's study, reading over a steel-bound book. He had been reading since sunup, and now it was one in the afternoon. He made a right turn and opened the study door to let himself in.
"Hello, Master Ansem," Xehanort said, bending his head. Ansem acknowledged his presence and held out a blue ice cream bar.
"Good afternoon, Xehanort. Would you care for some Sea Salt ice cream?" Xehanort shook his head and dropped the book on Ansem's desk, making a sharp clink.
"You should read this, Master Ansem. It really is quite interesting. It delves into the structure of one's heart and the 'heart' of a world and it's people." Xehanort looked towards the lab door and his eyes squinted slightly. "Is Even in there again?" He asked.
"Yes, he has been in there for quite some time now. He is very interested in your lost memories, Xehanort. I think he may be able to help."
"B-but-"
"Xehanort, listen. You don't remember where you came from, your childhood, your name...you don't remember anything at all. I think it's time to dive into that brain of yours and see just what is hiding inside." Ansem looked at Xehanort sternly over his hands.
"All right. Whatever you say, Ansem," Xehanort said heavily.

Even flipped a few buttons and the silver machine's humming filled the room softly, and it was vibrating ever, ever so slightly under his hand. Lightning crackled from a conducter to an energy rod, and he sighed, his love for the machine evident in his expression. Even loved, more than anything, to experiment, and today he was getting his favorite subject: Xehanort. He turned as Xehanort entered, ready to conduct more research. "Ready?" He asked, and Xehanort nodded wearily. "Cheer up," Even said brightly, "today I'm doing something different."
"What's that?" Xehanort asked unenthusiastically.
"This entire time, under Ansem's orders, I've been studying your brain, right? Well, don't tell anyone, but I'm going to study your heart." Silence reigned in the room, the only sound the machine's humming vibration, until Xenahort looked Even straight in the eye. Xehanort smiled.
"Let's do it."

"Oh my God. It's working!" Even clapped his hands and leapt up in the air, his dirty blonde hair flopping behind him. The screen was a bit fuzzy, but visible. "Oh boy, Ansem is gonna love this!"
The screen displayed a dank orange environment, sand billowing around three armored figures standing in a semi-circle, their leather capes flapping in the wind. A bald man made his way toward them with an unnerving smrik on his face, his hand behind his back as he marched onward toward the three. The screen began to blurr, and static slashed across it, the image fading away.
"Wait, no! What the-?" Even's hands flew up to his head as he grasped his hair in frustration. "Damnit! Xehanort!" Even flipped around to see Xehanort squirming in the pod violently, his muscles jerking. "Why'd you have to go and do that?" Even asked, snapping his fingers at the pod window. The door opened and Xehanort fell out, unconscious on the floor.
"Oh man, do we got a doozy on our hands," even said, lifting Xehanort by the shoulder and dragging him down a flight of stairs. "To the Room of Awakening for you, bud."

"Damn seizure." Even said, grunting as he lifted Xehanort into a strange, dark chair. "Not even then first time, no. Why the hell must you always do that? Please tell me." Either he didn't notice his friend was out cold, or he just didn't care. He pressed a few buttons on an ice-cold, dusty keyboard, and from a hidden floor panel rose a sand-colored suit of armor. Instantly Xehanort's head snapped up, causing Even to jump.
"Faking it, eh? Back to the te.... crap." Even sighed, running a hand through his eccentric hair. Either the sight of Xehanort's closed eyes, or his sleepy mumbled "Friend..." Caused Even to realize Xehanort was unconcious still, and could not be tested. "I could slap you right now, you know." Even said as he exited the room, leaving Xehanort with the armor.
"Friend...."
"SHUT UP!"
"...................... Friend...."
"GGRAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

"So, that's Xehanort?" Ven asked, his head looking at the orange pavement. Aqua grimaced and looked at Terra, who was swinging around a large, golden double-sided blade.
"Well, not entirely. Actually, that's only a part of him that we told you about, or that you remember." Aqua knelt next to Ven and looked him in the eye. "There's more."

"Xehanort's become lately... an enigma of sorts." Terra smiled sadly. "He's not exactly right in the head anymore, and we have lost track of him. We were hoping you remembered something, because we have forgotten most things about him. Looks like you forgot more..."

"The days after my birth are numbered," Ven interrupted suddenly, his face shooting up at Aqua, then Terra. "How many days?" Aqua and Terra shook their heads.
"Well, technically, you haven't been 'born' yet. Oh, I don't know, it's too confusing to explain," Aqua replied, kicking a wall behind her. "To put it shortly, Roxas was born a year ago. You are officially 'born' tomorrow at 7:00 AM. For seven days." Aqua sat back down and exhaled...

"Ok, how did you just remember that?" Terra asked, crouching down in front of Ven. "We need you to do that again. We need more information. We have to stop it and we can't without you."

"But, wait, what? I feel kinda...funny..." Ven mumbled and fell on the ground with a loud thump. Aqua bent down and poked his back. Nothing happened.
"Oh, c'mon, Ven, we need you here, buddy," She said, shaking him, but with no results.
"Wait, let him sleep, he needs to recooperate. Maybe then then we can retrieve some of this information," someone said from a near alleyway. The two turned and looked, as a bald man stepped from the shadows, a sinister grin on his face and his hands behind his back.

Terra rushed forward, swinging his sword and yelling wildly. The man suddenly had a blade in his hand, which he blocked with. His Shadow Servant came out of the wall behind him and kicked Terra in the head, sending him flying. The Shadow's own keyblade came out of the wall, and Terra knew the next attack would be much more fatal. He stood, hefted his blade, and blocked Ven from the two beings.

Ven looked up at Terra and Aqua, who were struggling to defend themselves and him against two others.
"Wait, I...remember this," Ven said. "This happened before, a little, didn't it? Aqua?...Terra? Guys!" Ven lept up and threw his hand backwards. A balde appeared in his hands out of nowhere. Ven stood ready, gazing at the blade he held in his hand. "What is this thing?"
"It's a keyblade, Ven! Use it!" Aqua yelled.
"But why am I holding it backwards?"
"Because that's the way you always held it! Remember?" Aqua pleaded.
"...right, now I remember..." Ven said, and lunged forward.
