I really don't think that Obito is Tobi, one has to remember that Obito was the 'failure' of his clan at the time, and they already had Itachi, why bother to revive Obito?

I also Don't adree with the Yondaime = leader theory, Yondaime and Leader look nothing alike, If you piece the few pieces of his face they look nothing alike (BTW, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that the leader has red hair. They're all following a ginger kid! whee No offense, I was once a ginger, till my pretty red hair turned brown crying )

As for the ObiTobi thing, I don't look at it as a matter of plot, I look at it as a matter of theme.

Kishimoto throughout the series has frequently used multiple characters and instances to illustrate key themes. One being that 'those who don't take care of their friends are worse then trash.' Obito said it, Kakashi adopted it, and it got passed on to Naruto who basically lives that phrase as his way of the ninja along with ' I never go back on my word'

Obito died a very tragic and noble death. I think that would make it all in vain if he could be brought back and as a villain no less. It would also lessen the value of when Kakashi said " all the people I care about are dead" Obito had his purpose and it was very nicely portrayed. As for Tobi's purpose...well...there is the possibility it may just be comic relief...

Also if you do look at it from a plot stand point you have to take Orochimaru into account. Why would he bother with Itachi and Sasuke if there were another Uchiha out there who is reputed to be nothing compared to Itachi and Sasuke.

Regarding the names being similar thing: You can't make any assumptions based on english translations. You would have to look at the original japanese caricatures for their names. I understand they would have similar kanji but you never know. Two similar things could be written two completely different ways in Japanese. So until someone posts a pic of what their Japanese names look like you can't make any assumptions.

and regarding yondaime and akatsuki leader having a similar silhouette: nothing can be based on this either because if you subscribe to that logic then there is nothing to say that Shikamaru and Iruka aren't the same person as well.

True. But, I think that they wouldnt introduce a new character as Sir Leader. To be honest, by them mentioning Uchiha Madara I think that was sort of a clue. Someone so evil and such a genius that he could come up with something like the Akatsuki. Right?

Organized crime, and such mystery behind them. The Akatsuki does everything with percision and they also, have a "world domination" plan. Only done by a pure evil genius. Something that Madara Uchiha was.

And for him to think that he could take Kyuubi on, because he knows thats what its going to have to take to get it out of Naruto, he has to be power and pure evil.

Something that Kyuubi already said Uchiha Madara was.

But thats just my resoning.

Yondaime could not be anyone else than Naruto's dad. My reason's are:
1) Where in the world did he get this random kid from? His own house.
2) Blonde hair and blue eyes.
3) Jiraya's "I'm sorry Fourth." line when he pushed Naruto off the cliff to try and get him to summon Gamabunta.
4) Jiraya's mention that Naruto was "Just like the Fourth."

You ask why Jiraya (and or Kakashi) haven't told Naruto who his father was, and my answer is that Yondaime, for whatever reason, asked that nobody tell Naruto because he (Yondy) didn't want Naruto to hate him for sealing the Kyuubi inside his body.

Oh, and whoever mentioned the thing about Yondaime's clan symbol never being shown, that makes perfect sense. Awesomesauce.

I think your first one about that Hokage being Naruto's father is probably your best.

I like to come up with theorys, but I think I prefer to be surprised. It makes things more interesting. Also, if your theory turns out to be false, it can be very disappointing. I'm still hoping for Obito=Tobi. I heart Tobi!
