She looked around for a moment. "The mountains...yes we were in the mountains." She smiled lightly at Diego. "Thank you...could you help me look for him? or at least show me the way...unless its to much trouble..." she asked lightly. She didn't plan on going right away, she wanted to rest, but she did want to know which way she was going to go.

The golden Jala paused to think before giving a response. He still had time before spring so time wasn't stopping him and if he were around her a lot perhaps the Ichsa mare would decide she wanted to stay with him rather than this other stallion.

After a few moments, the blue-eyed being smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'd be happy to. There are quite a lot of mountains around of course so... can you remember anything else about this cave? Hot, cold, colour of the rocks, things you could see outside?" He hadn't travelled very much at all before the winter sundering of his father's herd but the elder Jala had ensured that his youngest son had a decent knowledge of geography.

It had been enough to bring him this far without getting lost; maybe it would be enough to help him guess where this cave of Eira's might be as well.

"Well..." Eira thought for a moment. "Outside there was lots of trees...and the cave was warm and dry, not what i had expected at all...it was a beautiful place...." she said lightly. "and around the cave everything was green and there was grass and there were trees with food fruits." she said, smiling.

Diego frowned thoughtfully as he tried to recall the details of those long ago lessons. "...I'm not sure," he admitted after a while. "Your description doesn't sound much like the fire mountains or the ice mountains to be honest... Was there red dirt? You get that with the Fire Mountains I believe and lots of pine trees around the Ice Mountains."

It had to be one of the two, or maybe the border between them for those mighty peaks circled around the entire known world save for where the ocean flowed. Hopefully it was Fyhi tel Oren; Diego didn't fancy trying the ice-peaks at the best of times but, winter as it was, trying to climb them would be down right suicidal.

She shook her head before blinking. "It was cold outside...but inside the cave was warm..." she said lightly. Thats all she remebered. It was green abd beautiful, a bit cold, esspeically at night, and yet that cave was nice and cozy!

Oh powers this one was dappy, that or her memory really was awful. "Umm... Well... It's not warm anywhere up Casa Tiner so far as I know... Well, we can head off for the Fire Mountains then. Maybe you'll recognise things when we get close to them."

If she didn't, then the Jala had no idea what he'd do with her.. It wasn't as though he could search every cave on the range even if the fancy took him, which it didn't. He’d probably have tired of her by the time they got there anyway so leaving her to search on alone wouldn’t bother him in all likelihood. If he hadn’t found some deep fault with her… well, he’d have to think of something if things came out like that.

He'd always wanted to see Fyhi tel Oren in any case, so the trip itself wasn't unattractive. The idea of poking his nose into every cave on the whole damn mountain range however sounded most tedious, and Diego never did the tedious if he could avoid it.

Eira's head diped and she looked down. "No...its ok...I don't mean to bother you..." she said lightly, sighing. She could search on her own, she didn't need to bother the jala before here for such a simple task. "Its alright..."really. thank you so much for you help...it was nice meeting you." she turned to leave and slowly began to walk away.

The golden Jala watched her for a moment before sighing faintly to himself. "You're going the wrong way, Eira," he called, trotting after her and slowing to a walk as he drew level. "Listen," he said with a slight smile, "I've always fancied seeing the Fire Mountains with my own eyes and I've time before I have to be back with my herd. If my company does not utterly repulse you, I would be happy to travel there with you. Perhaps you will remember more once you see them," he suggested with another smile.

Eira blinked for a moment and looked at him. "I...." she looked down. "If you want...i don't mind..." she looked at him for a moment. "But you should stop thinking so bad of me. My breed may be known for not being the brightest but that doesn't mean all of us are so utterly stupid that we do not know what others say about us." she said lightly before spreading her wings and hoveing lightly, waiting for his reply. she had come across many others who said things about her as she passed...she knew more then she used to...

The sleek Jala tilted his head slightly, eyes on the mare's long horn. "Hey now," he protested, "I've not said a bad word to you Eira. What makes you believe I think badly of you?" Had he given something away? He'd never been caught out on his scornful thoughts of others before. It was possible, he supposed, perhaps this Ichsa was brighter than all the rest, or perhaps he was just being especially transparent today. Perhaps the mare was just crazy or paranoid and it was all a coincidence.

"Please stop this. I am not the brightest of my breed, i don't claim to be, but i am not so stupid as not to know. I have traveled long and far and i know what others say of my breed...please treat me as you would another of your breed...and not as a idiot who can't even tell what others say." she said lightly. She showed genuine hurt for what she was saying, like the thought that somone would carelessly undermine her because of her breed hurt her worse then all else.

Diego paused. He was used to drama queens throwing fits over a lack of attention on his part but genuine hurt wasn't something he came up against often. "I don't say anything about your breed," the Jala said eventually, going for honesty for once. "I seldom make judgements on breed, Eira, and this isn't one of those occasions. I know the stereotype of Ichsa being proud fools but you don't seem like that. I apologise if your feelings have been hurt by whatever you believe you have interpreted in my face and voice, but I assure you that no judgment is laid upon you for the kind of wings you possess, nor yet your horn. Not by me at any rate."

Eira waited a moment, thinking about what Diego said. "alright then..." she said lightly. "Because i do not treat others on sterotypes, i never have to my knowledge, for like i said i did lose my memory at one time...and i would like to know that i will be given at least that..." she said, nodding before smiling. "Thank you. WOuld you mind showing me to these mountains which you speak of?" she asked, smiling now, still hovering lightly.

Diego relaxed at the mare's smile and nodded. "But of course Eira; they lie west of here and so, westward we go." Smiling at his companion, she really was very lovely and didn't seem all that daft at all really, the Jala set off at a walk. "Do you prefer to run or to fly, and how fast?" he quizzed. "Either hoof or wing suits me equally well and I am as fleet as many, though I do admit that I am unused to long travel so I shall need breaks at walking pace if you like to move swiftly." The blue-eyed stallion smiled again as he awaited a response; a little humility often went a long way to getting into another Nequus’ good graces.

Eira thought. "Well if you wish to reach there quickly then it would be best for me to go by foot, but if you don't mind a slightly slower pace then by wing can work for me. I am not the fastest flyer but i can keep up fairly well." she smiled.
