Elle swung the lasso at a measured pace, watching Drac's path. A flutter of motion from the corner of her eye caught her attention for a moment, and she laughed to herself as the horse tried to nibble at Lonan's hair. She couldn't really blame it.

Shifting her attention back to the task at hand, she finally made her toss, aiming just a bit ahead of Drac' path. Unfortunately, she'd calculated just a bit off, and the loop nudged Drac's ankle before flopping to the ground.

"One more try!" She called out and she reeled the rope back in, knowing the other woman would have no objection. Overestimating this time, taking a risk that felt a bit more right, Elle gave the toss a second try. "Hup!"

The woman snickered softly when she observed Elle's attention being caught. She might be old (well older than Elle anyway) but she remembered what that kind of feeling was. Opting to stay silent about it she kept up her light pace, moving a bit faster as Elle's skills caught up.

"You're doing fine. Just... oops!" The loop had fallen and caught her around the arch of her foot. Not a normal place to rope but apparently it worked!

At the sound of Drac's surprise and the soft thud of her hitting the deck Lonan's head snapped up, seeming to judge the following sounds before finishing the cool down and settled the equine back in the barn.

He might have stayed in there had he known of the mischeif in Drac's eyes.

"Hey Elle, want to try a real moving target?" The fox grin on her face was not accidental.

Drac was certainly excited, but Elle was more than a little shocked. She assumed Drac was okay, but this roping business seemed a bit more dangerous than she'd believed.

Brows raising at the mischief in the woman's voice, Elle shrugged. "Sure, I'm good for a throw or two! I can tell I'll be horribly sore tomorrow if I push too much longer, though."

Rubbing that same strange spot in the back of her shoulder, the young woman tipped her head, pigtail braids settling to the side. "Should we borrow the horse"

"Don't look so worried. You just surprised me." She was chuckling at herself for falling. It hadn't hurt a lick.

"Great!" Giving a short whistle she mobved to Elle's side, carefuly placing a hand over the sore muscles.

"Nothing too bad. Just hold still for a moment." There was a soft shicking sound followed by prickling. A few little movements and the prickling went away. "That better? Really, old form of modified acupuncture."

"You whistled?" There was the faint trace of bemusement in the soft voice. Lonan stood at the end of the deck, longcoat tossed over the rail. Drac's grin was back

"Yup. Two words."

"Let me guess. Target and practice."

"Got it in one."

The pale youth just sighed softly before settling on the balls of his feet, wings balanced behind him.

Elle was so startled by the impromptu acupuncture that she barely noted Lonan's arrival. She touched her shoulder gingerly before letting her hand fall, offering a nod of thanks to Drac.

For several long moments, Elle simply studied Lonan. Her expression was one of quiet appreciation, both for the young man, and his willingness to help. Her pause, and the absent way she held the rope again her hip, however, indicated a pause of a different kind.

"I..." She tried to pick her words carefully, but nothing was coming. It was suddenly clear that she didn't wish to make the same mistake she'd made with Drac, and cause Lonan any harm....but nor did she wish to offend her teacher.

Drac smiled, watching as Lonan took a classic stance, ready to move lightly on his feet. Seeing Elle hesitate though, one ear flicked in confusion.

"Do not fall into the trap of others, Elle. I am not spun glass. Do not treat me as such." He had not dropped his stance as he spoke.

Suddenly Drac shot forward, aiming a punch where Lonan's head had been a moment before. He ducked expertly, drawing a hand up to block. There was a slight grin on Drac's face as they sparred. Lonan recognized the trick. Prove the body worth while tiring and moving to aid the cohort. He should recognize the move since Drac had been the one to teach it to him.

He allowed himself to be herded, jumping once in a while to avoid a kick. He moved with a fluid grace that few with sight could manage.

Elle still paused, though she'd noted Lonan's words. He was strong, certainly, but she wasn't that innocent. She understood the balance in flight, fragility and strength...it was his wings she worried for, not the man.

Trust, however, had never been lacking between them, and Elle didn't see fit to start the process now. The rope whistled unevenly through the air as she gave it a few spins, trying to find her rhythm, and waiting for the right time to cast.

Finally, as her opening presented itself, she gave it her best shot...smiling despite her vague worry. "Ha!" No way to tell if she'd roped anything yet, the lasso was still in air, but her breath left her in a rush as she cast, and Elle watched with wide eyes.

She'd thrown the loop at an oportune moment, just as he was straightening from dodging a kick and balanced back with his wings down. The loop fell to circle his arms and wings before tightening. Surprising him slightly as he fell to the deck.

"Nice toss Elle! Enjoy." Snickering the draconic woman walked off, leaving a slightly confused Lonan on the deck still roped by the lasso.

"Elle?" There was no worry in his voice or manner. Only a slight confusion. There was no fear of his current possition on the deck with his wings pinned under him and the lasso around him.

Offering a smile and half a nod of thanks to Drac as she walked past, Elle took a few steps forward. The chaps creaked a bit as she settled, hovering in a crouch near her prize.

"I've always said and any lesson is invaluable. I suppose this proves it!" He was far from trapped, but for the moment, he was hers. Drac had vanished from sight, and the horses certainly didn't seem to mind.

"I'm surprised though....all this time, and it was a rope, not a net!" Laughing, Elle leaned down...pressing a warm kiss on the corner of Lonan's mouth. "Either way. Got you."

When Drac walked away he was even more confused, brows moving to form a slight furrow on his forehead. Automatically he turned towards the gentle creaking sound as Elle came closer, head tilted slightly in curiosity, wind blowing a few fine strands of ruby tipped ebony in his face.

Confusion turned into a faint flicker-smile of amusement at the kiss, an eyebrow rising to vanish under his fringe. "Should I be worried?"

He shifted on his back, carefully swinging his legs under him until he was kneeling on the deck. This was a bit tricky, his wings were pointed straight down, not folded against his back. It would be a bit of a stunt to stand up without stepping on his own feathers or bending a few quills that would need to be straightened later.

Actually... how was he going to stand with his wings out? They were longer than his body was tall, so even if he stood up completely straight they'd drag. He stayed still as he tried to figure out a way to stand, black feathers looking almost like a set of dark fireworks coming from his shoulderblades.

Elle took a step back, watching with some interest as Lonan tried to right himself. She would have helped, but in truth, his words echoed back at her. Not spun glass. Let the wren free himself if he so wished!

"Worried? Is that what they're calling it nowadays?" As he settled on his knees, Elle took the opportunity to walk a slow circle around him...pausing once she was behind Lonan. "I'd offer advice, but..."

Leaning forward, so her breath tickled the edge of his ear, she kept her voice low and soft. The smell of him, paint and feathers and warm evenings, was enough to make her eyes close in appreciation as she whispered. "...this wasn't my idea. I think she approves."

One hand slipping over Lonan's shoulder, restrained as he was, Elle pressed herself gently against his back, mindful of his wings. "And what about you? Such a passionate spirit, such respect for freedom." Her tone had changed to one of genuine communication. The sultry hint had faded, replaced by something much more powerful. "Can you endure being so bound by another?"

Her touch was sweet, fingers curling where his shoulder and neck curved. In Elle's experience, when a man was otherwise indisposed was the perfect time to explore such questions!

Dark wings shuffled a bit, testing their range before laying still again. A faint shiver ran through Lonan as Elle's breath tickled his ear, pushing down the instinct to rub said ear against his shoulder to get rid of the lingering sensation.

Feeling Elle settle against his back he settled on his haunches as his balance adjusted, leaning slightly back into her.

"There are types of liberty that can be best experienced through captivity. If I did not want to linger I would already be gone." Pale eyes slid closed in appretiation for the gentle touch on his neck. A soft sigh left his lips as he relaxed further, completely uninclined to move at present.

The ropes fell gently, almost unnoticed, as Elle loosened her hold. Smoothing the coil down the sides of his wings, she pressed her face gently against his neck and smiled.

"That was well said. You're blossoming into a beautiful person, Lonan. The person you were meant to be."

Her voice was muffled, but close...arms rising again to encircle his waist, from where she sat behind him. Her early memories of him were all lights and darks, intense and contrasted...but as weeks turned into months, the glow of him increased. The smiles came more easily, the relaxation deeper. Before she knew it, her kisses had moved around the side of his jaw...urging his face to tilt towards hers.

"And that said..." Longer kisses, hands traveling gently across his stomach, and a touch of challenge to her rich voice. "I don't see you leaving."

The muscles in Lonan's arms and wings were relaxed as the rope was moved, the only realy movement from them coming from the soft in and out of his breath. He let his head fall forward as Elle pressed her face to the back of his neck. The soft stir of warm air over the skin there was calming and secure. Following her lead he stayed still, tilting his head a bit when asked.

That faint smile wasn't so flicker-fast this time.

"It has taken you this long to finally see that what I spoke was true? I told you a long while ago Elle, from winer through the growing and fading and back to spring again that I was content to be netted. I have not moved since the net was cast. It only took you time to realize the cage's door has been open all along, and I have been flying back to it everytime I was cast loose." He leaned back a bit further, brushing his cheek against her's as best he could from the awekward possition.

She took a few moments to think about his words, smile growing deeper as she finally nodded. "It wasn't so much a realization...as a last call."

Leaning forward, catching him with a kiss much more poignant than the first, Elle lowered her voice to a meaningful level. "Let's close ourselves in, just for a bit, and fly from there." Her gentle words held a powerful request, and her hands tightened on Lonan's shoulders. The rope still settled gently across his lap, coil loosely held.
