Advise you say?
-Sign up for tons of extracurriculars when you first get there. It's an easy way to meet people who are ostensibly interested in the same things as you and they'll provide much fun and merriment in the years to come. You can then start to really participate in a few you like and drop the rest which end up sucking.

-Try lots of new things, whether it's intramural sports, wacky subjects, whatever. College is one of the few places you can pretty much do what you want with not a whole lot of repercussions. And who knows, you might find something you end up liking.

-Get an on campus job once you've settled into a routine. Extra cash is uber handy, and it's another good way to meet peoples.

-Set up any rules and regulations with your roommate early on, and talk to them on the phone (if you find out in advance that is) about what you're each bringing to furnish the room. If you've got special needs or requests, let them know up front, and vice versa. Nothing is worse than a few months in and your roommate comes up with some bullshit nonsense or starts smoking/having tons of people over all the time/uses your stuff without permission or whatever that leads to disagreements. Bah to random roommates.

-Don't be afraid to change your major. If you think you want to, talk to your adviser and do it sooner rather than later. Nothing sucks more than having to add on extra semesters because of a late change.

-Look at study abroad. It's a great way to travel and see the world.

That's about all the general advice I can think of off the top of my head. College totally rocked. I miss it. You'll have a great time. Whee!
