And that might explain how I saw the shadow man in the hallway as a grown man, and then a child.

My dad once used a oiju, excuse the spelling, and he said that you can feel really creepy things and that when he used it that all the candles blew out and that he could here voices and feel really cold things walk right through him and his friends. O.O

Have you ever tried smudging your house?
Get or make a bundle of dried herbs (sage and cedar are cleansing, and if you can get one with sweetgrass in it, that's supposed to be healing, and it smells very good too). Hold them in your hand and offer a blessing over them (this can be anything that sounds "right" to you, but if you want a suggestion, try "may this smoke soothe the spirits of this house, that they can either pass to where they need to go, or else live in harmony with me and my family. May this smoke cleanse and protect all souls, living and dead.")
Next, you set the bundle on fire and move through the house with it, wafting the smoke around the room, but paying special attention to corners, hallways, and stairways. You can use a feather or your hand to move the smoke.
I've never had spirits that were either malicious or of a very disturbing presence so I'm unsure how effective it will be, but it can't do any harm. Positive energy is always towards the good, and if nothing else, a good smudging will make your house smell nice!
