First Visit to the Clinic: A Meeting with Lulu and Clara

lulu and clara walk into the agency ad look around

Clara sits down in a chair and rubs her tummy "the baby kicked"

Lulu smiled at the bunny girl "very cool" and sat down next to her as she made not of th bunny girls developments.

clara glaired "i am not your experiment" and sighed "you know the baby kicked before"

lulu giggled and closed her book "all right all right clara, i am done"

Kimie trailed into the Agency, looking for Lulu. She'd heard that her friend was going to adopt a baby and she wanted to see what was happening! Kimie peered around a corner and spotted Lulu and a very pregnant bunny-girl sitting together. "Hiya!" she called out, her ears twitching cheerfully.

ulu jumped up and scaird the bunny girl "hey now!!! careful!!" clara said with fire in her eyes as jumped up and glaired at Lulu.

lulu looked at Clara and then turned her around to face kimie instead of herself. "this will be the godmother of your baby clara, say hello to kimie!!! the kitty" lulu giggles a little at that.

Clara blinked many times before closing her arms abover her pregnant tummy and glairing at the cat girl "what makes you so special?

Kimie held out a hand to shake, but pulled it back quickly at Clara's hostile attitude. "What? Um.. I'm an old friend of Lulu's.." She blinked, wondering why the girl seemed so angry.

Clara glaired even harder as the hand was taken away "whatever" and floped down in a chair, vevery unhappy.

lulu frowned and gave the bunny a lollypop and scooted kimie out the door "be nice, ok? she is giving up her first child, its not like this is a wonderful happy expericance for her, k?"

The cat-girl stood just outside the Agency blinking. Her tail flicked around her ankles. "But.. I'm always nice..!" she muttered. Shrugging, Kimie stuck her head in the door again.

the bunny girl was sniffing away a stray tear that she let fall when the two had left, but then stood up right when she saw the cat girl stick her head in. she stiood up and walked over to the door, opening it more "come back, sorry, I a usaly much happier, its just that stuff has happend" she held her hand out "nice to meet you kitty"

lulu rested her head on kimies sholder "its kimie" and smiled at the bunny girl.

Kimie smiled, clearly relieved, and returned the handshake. "It's very nice to meet you, Clara, and I understand that things may be a bit hard for you just now." She nodded and hugged Lulu around the shoulders. "Here." Kimie dug in her pocket and pulled out a kleenex.

lulu makes bunnie sounds and smiled.

Clara looked strange at Lulu but took the tisue and wiped up the last tear "thanks" she felt the baby kick again and put a hand on her tummy, smiling "she kicked again, do you want to touch?"

lulu nodded and stood next to kimie, and put a hand on Clara's tummy. "oh! oh! she did! put a hand on her tummy Kimie"

Clara nodded and smiled "yes, please do"

Kimie giggled and placed a hand on Clara's bulging belly. "Ee! I felt it!" she squeed. "When are you due?" She eyed the bunny-girl, noting how close she must be to labor.

the bunny blushed "i dont know, the clinic hasnt told me that" she put a hand on her tummy "but i also dont mind being pregnant, it lets me be as close as i can to the baby"

lulu smiled and nodded, holdin up her baby book "i have been writing down what we know so far, and actualy all we do know is that the baby has started to kick and that it is a girl"

"Aww, a little girl! I bet she'll be just darling." Kimie nodded and winked at Clara. "Well, if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know." She sighed and flopped down on a nearby couch. "How is Zinthose doing? Does she know what's going on?" she asked Lulu.

Clara blushed more and sat down on a chair "thanks"

lulu smiled and sat crose legged next to kimie on the coach "Zin is very exsited to help take care of a little one. She meet a little boy named lucien. she helped him walk arond as well, she had alot of fun" lulu sighed "and the drakness didnt overtake her that day, it was great"

clara rubbed her tummy and looked down at it "i am still thinking of what to name her, since lulu said i could name her"

lulu smiled at clara "of corse Clara, she is your child, i am just going to take care of her, but you will alway be her real mother"

"That does sound like a good day. I'm sure Zin will make a great big sister." She sat forward, leaning her chin on her hands. "What names are you thinking of, Clara?"

Clara didnt look up, but kept rubbing her tummy. "i dont know really" then looked up at the cat girl "do you have any ideas godmother to be?" and smiled.

First Visit Part 3

Kimie giggled. She knew how hard it was to braid around ears! "It might be easier just to do a regular braid." She wiggled her ears at Clara. "Lulu, I can braid yours for you, if you want."

Lulu had actualy figured out how to do it with one french braid tho she loved to make 2 better. "looks kimie! i did it!" she was about half way done at that point "oh? i would love for you to braid my hair kimie" she sctched forward so that kimie could sit on the back of the couch and braid her hair.

Clara was very happy that lulu had figured out how to braid around her ears. she twitched then a few times at the wierd feeling of having hair so tight around them, but fugure that it was ok, she couldnt wait to see how she looked "this is exsiting!" she giggled. "its a braiding party!"

Kimie hopped up onto the back of the couch and continued the braid that Lulu had started. "I feel like this is some sort of girly sleepover party!" Not that she'd had a sleepover in about 10 years.. or that she'd ever really been girly. But whatever. With one smooth and obviously practiced motion, she pulled a hair elastic off her wrist and tied the end of the braid. "Ta-da!" Kimie patted Lulu's head and flopped back onto the cushions.

lulu giggled and also tied off the french braid that she had just finished in Clara's hair. "all done" she said with a smile.

Clara got up and went to look in the bathroom mirror "oh i love it lulu!" she then came out of the bathroom and pounced the girl "thank you so much!"

"ofph!" anounced the girl as she was crushed by the bunnies weight "baby on bord, be more carful!" this, of corse was strained to say the lest.

Clara got off and smirked "now you know how i feel"

Kimie grinned, rather relieved that Clara hadn't pounced on her! "That looks really cute, Clara." She patted the bunny-girl's ear fondly. "How are you feeling?"

clara smirked again "fat" she rubbed her tummy and looked down "we are going to see the doctor and get ultra sounds and things tomaorw" she sat back down in a chair "i miss sleeping on my tummy, and having an inny belly button" she pocked her belly button and giggled "but thats ok" and smiled.

Lulu nodded and smiled "dont forget the morning sickness" and winked

clara smiled "and the cravings for pickles and harring and sardens" she rummages through a rather large purse that she had been ignoring next to her on the floor and prodused and individualy rapped, and rather large pickle "infact" she went to the bathr9oon and drained the exseces juice and then sat back down to munch on it "i am hungery now."

"You don't look fat, just pregnant!" Kimie tried not to wrinkle her nose at the smell of the pickles. "Heh, I always sleep on my stomach... that's gotta be tough not to be able to."

Clara smiled at the funny cat lady "yeah, it is. I turn sometimes nad almost sleep on my tummy, well i try to until the baby kicks." she finished up the pickle and got up to wash her hands "mmm, that was realllly good'

Lulu let out a breath of air "gods i hate pickles" she said finally, she had been holding her breath "i wish she didnt like them so much, i almost gagged"

clara came out and stuck out her toung while she sat down "so, what do you want to do kimie the kitty?" anse giggled a little.

"I like them in very small quantities... preferably in a well-ventilated room..!" Kimie grinned. "Does the baby kick a lot?" she asked Clara, who had returned by then. "I know I felt it earlier, but does that happen often? And," she blinked, "You can just call me Kimie." xp

clara giggled "only sometimes" she put her hand in her tummy "she is quite right now" and smiled "i really love being pregnant" she laughed "tho giving birht will hurt and there are better things that i could be doing with my time right now, like being a kids myself" she looked up at Lulu "thanks for giving me that chance even though it was my fault i an like this"

Lulu got up and huggled the girl "its the lest i can do for trusting me with somthing so wonderful"

Kimie smiled. "Pregnancy seems to suit you, Clara. You have that glow~" whee Pushing her hair behind her ears, she said quietly, "Who is the father, if you don't mind me asking? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." She rubbed the girl's back reassuringly.

Clara looked away "yeah, id rather not say"

lulu got up in arms "i told her to tell me before so i could beat the s**t out of him" lulu punched at the air and tryed to be tuff.

Clara giggled a litte "it dosnt matter now" and huggled lulu and kimie, "because i have two wonderful people with me right now" though her eyes were still a little sad "he, like me, still needs to be a kid before he can raise a child"

lulu nuzzled the bunny girl "i still wana beat the living s**t out of him" and giggled.

Kimie hugged the bunny-girl back. "That's perfectly alright, I understand." She grinned at Lulu's reaction. "Whoever it is, he'd better watch out though! Child or not, apparently!" She giggled quietly. "Don't worry, Clara, you're in good hands.

Clara glowed even more and wiggled her ears "i am so happy" she suddendly looked a little green "i think i need to go home now"

Lulu quickly got up and started to bunny out the door "it was great seeingg you again kimie! stop by the house some othert time" she had the girl at the door in a second "ill say hello to zinthose for you!" and they were out the door.

Kimie waved as Lulu hustled Clara out the door. "Okies, I'll stop by later, you two!" After looking around and not seeing anyone else around, she padded out of the Agency and made her own way home.

Kimie and Epona are Introduced

"Hey! You! Get out of that!" Came a voice from the backroom. "I mean it!"

A giggle echoed throughout the adoption agency as a little female came toddling out of the back, carrying a bright feather that seemed to glitter with every color of the rainbow. "But it's pretty... And I like it."

Skye followed after her, crossing her arms firmly over her chest. She was a good two feet taller than the halfling... And she had the ability to seem a bit more imposing. "Can I have it back?"

"No. I'm going to make sure that it's given to my baby."

Kimie twisted around on the couch to locate the origin of the giggle. Ooh, she did have a pretty feather! She waved at Skye as she, too, emerged from the back.

Clara smiled and nodded "oh, hello!" she said with a wave to the new pregnant, and rather short, person that emerged from the back.

Lulu wavied as well and smiled.

She stuck the feather behind her ear as she waddled over to the woman who was waving. "'Ello."

Snorting softly, Skye followed after the round halfling. Creatures like this were much easier to catch when they were pregnant... They lacked the ability to run properly... Of course, that didn't keep the little one from trying. "Kimie. Good. You're here."

She gestured towards the woman glad in forest greens and soft browns that seemed to make it easy for her to 'blend in'. "This is Epona Sherekir. She's the one whose child you'll be adopting."

"Oh! This is her! That's wonderful! She looks nice... That means the baby will have someone nice to watch over her while I get back to my... Adventures."

Kimie blinked. So this was the girl! "Hello Epona, I'm Kimie Catclaw." She stuck a hand out to shake. "Very pleased to meet you. Have a seat?" The kitty-girl scooted over to make room and patted the cushion next to her.

lulu smiles "yes, please sit down"

Clara nodded "its nice to meet someone else who is in the same boat as i am" she smiled and help out the ultrasound picks to the halfling, who made her feel very tall, even tho she was only 4' 11''. "these are my ultra sound picks, wana see?" se sat in a chair next to the sofa and smiled.

She glanced over at the ultrasound pictures once before scrunching her nose, attentions quickly falling back to the feather. "They aren't shiney... This is much more pretty." She nodded as she hopped up onto the couch beside Kimie.

"I'll leave you two to get to know each other better..." She chuckled as she turned back towards the room where she had initially come from.

"Thank you, Skye," Kimie called as the other woman walked off. She grinned at Epona. "Introductions all around! This," she pointed to the bunny-girl, "is Clara, and this," - more pointing- "is my friend Lulu. She's going to be adopting Clara's daughter." And she indicated the ultrasounds for emphasis.

The halfling sat on the couch, nodding as each girl was introduced, her feet kicking at the wooden frame of the couch. "Uh huh, Clara, Lulu, baby. The feather is prettier, don't you think?" Epona pulled the feather out from behind her ear and waved it around, tickling Kimie's nose.

Kimie sneezed.

Clara fround "i think my baby will be beautiful but prittier then your stupid feather"

"Clara!" scolded Lulu with a frown "just because she isnt nterested in your ulrasound dosnt mean anything" he smiled at th new mother "sorry, Clara can gt defensive"

Clara pouted "well" and rubbed her tummy "me and the baby have gottn really close"

Lulu sat next to the bunny girl and patted her shoulder "its ok"

Clara smiled and looked at the feater "well, it is very prity"

Epona blinked, wondering why the bunny had gotten so offended. She looked down at her own swollen belly, almost as if she'd forgotten about it. "Hm? The ultrasound thing is nice too," she said, rather dubiously.

Kimie suppressed a grin and patted Clara's hand.

The halfling held out the feather again for further inspection. "It's so shiny!"

Clara smiled and nodded "it is shiny, do you know what kind of feather it is?" Clara smiled at Kimie.

Lulu got board and turned into her bunny form and hoped onto kimies head.

Clara staired "you never said you could do that lulu"

Lulu laughed "you nevr asked" and settled down onto kimies head.

"No, I wish I did though. I found it back there." Epona jerked a thumb in the general direction of the back room. "It's awfully special though I think. Gotta be."

Suddenly finding a little bunny on her head, Kimie giggled. "Silly Lulu!" She plucked the bunny off her head and held her on her lap-- they looked like some weird scene from a Bond movie. The kitty-girl Bond-villain with a little blue-grey bunny plonked in her lap. Or something. Kimie blinked and returned her attention to the situation at hand. "You're right, Epona, it must be special. You said earlier it's to be a gift for the baby?"

Epona nodded absently, still entranced by the irridescent feather.

Clara sweatdroped. this one really liked shiny things. She laughed at Lulu "your a silly one." and smiled "well at lest yo will have more incomon with the baby now" she rubbed her tunny.

Lulu smiled and was petted, but still watned to be on kimies head. maybe she should get a better look at the feater. she hopped of to the others lap and looked up at the feather, sniffing it "it seems t be a peekock feather? maybe?"

"Maybe," Epona said thoughtfully. "What do you think, Kimie?"

"That would be my guess as well." Kimie bit her lip, eyeing the feather.

Epona scritched the Lulu-bunny behind the ears, letting her sniff the peacock (or whatever it was) feather. "Oh!" she squeaked, dropping the feather. "It kicked me!" she exclaimed reproachfully, glaring an accusation at her belly.

lulu hopped onto kimies head again, hr favorite spot "babies do that" she said with a smile. "if thie baby is a actuve and curius as you then it will be moving alot"

Clara smiled "my baby kicks as well, its cool to think that another human is inside of you" she rubbed her own tummy.

Silly watched the others silently from the other side of the room. She was very very excited but a bit nervous. There were so many people in here now.

Journal Entry : Kimie

I've been getting Epona settled into the guest room, which will be the baby's room, once it arrives. I'd thought I wouldn't have to baby-proof the house for a few months, but Epona... she's like a very hyper child. A sweeter girl I couldn't ask for, but everything interests her. For five minutes. Tops.

At least we get along well. And she doesn't try to eat disgusting combinations of food, like Clara and Satine!

I'd best get back to Epona-proofing. We're probably going shopping with Lulu and Clara later.

I just heard something crash to the floor... And Nanda just ran into the room with her tail all poofed up. Oh boy. Definitely time to go see what on earth has happened now...

Epona goes to the clinic...

Epona wandered into the clinic, glad to be out of Kimie's house. The cat-girl wouldn't let her play with anything! Just because a few things had gotten broken... It wasn't her fault that all the cabinets and shelves in Kimie's house were too high up! The halfling grumbled but perked up when she saw the funny rabbit-thing she'd met before. At least she was interesting. "Hullo," she quipped, flopping onto the couch.

"oooof" cringed clara as the halfling flopped next to her "please, not so rough?" she was really not liking sudden movments at the moment. she then sweatdroped, what was she thinking? this was the queen of movement "i am due on the 14th and the baby has gone on the bottom of my belly, so she feels move movements, like the bounce that you just made" her eyes went wide and she smiled it back "and i feel her kicks more" and sighed "but how are you Epona?"

"Sorry!" Epona patted the bunny's swollen stomach carefully. "I'm good, just bored! Kimie has so many shiny things in her house, but they're all up higher than I can reach... She gets cranky, because I broke some things, but it was an accident. I didn't mean to break anything..." The girl pouted momentarily. "But it's OK, it's much more interesting here, with people and stuff." She nodded happily.

clara smiled and finished up her pickle "thats ok Epona" she leaned back and rubbed her belly "i can't wait to lose this weight and get back to school" she giggled but was stopped "ow" the baby kicked again "i wish the best for my baby, but this is not what i was wishing for for my senior year in high school" she sighed and rubbed her tummy more "i have to take the year over again, but thats ok" she looked at Epona and smiled "will you go looking for more shiny things when the baby is born?"

"Yup! Shiny things are my specialty. It's like they.. call to me. They want to be with me. I used to get in trouble when I was little, plus I never liked staying in the same place. So I left, and I've been out on my own since." Epona stroked her belly softly. "The road is no place for a baby, so it's best that I give it up. I don't have the patience to raise a young one, at least not now." She smiled. This little monologue was possibly the most serious one she'd voiced on the subject.

Clara nodded, wow, she was all, serious like?! must be more important to her that her baby have a good home than she let on. she put a hand on the smaller mothers tummy as smiled "i am sure that kimie will be a good mother to your child and that you will soon be to finding many shiny things in no time" she nodded and her ears wiggled in agreement. she patted the girl's hand "you are a good mother to try and do the best thing for your baby"

Epona rubbed the spot between her eyes. Darned pregnancy hormones..! "Thanks, Clara, that means a lot." She shook her head, going back to her normal bubbly self. "So what have you been up to? I heard you're due on the 14th!"

Clara nodded and took her hand back, placing it on her own swollen belly "that i am, i really need to get the room for the baby together. I have the basics. the bed." she started to count on her fingers "the changing table, the thing that holds the dirty dipers" she sighed "but i cant find a place for cute clothes, the hangy thing that goes above the crib, and cute things for the baby" she giggled "i want to know that my baby will have the best, even tho i know that i wont be much a part of her life, i want to know that she will be sourounded by good things"

"Kimie's guest room will become the baby's room. That's where I've been sleeping. We need to go buy toys and stuff. Maybe I'll make a mobile out of some of my shiny things!" Epona giggled and bounced. Then stopped. "Oof... Apparently this one doesn't like the bouncing so much either!" The halfling made a face. It had taken a while, but her pregnancy was finally slowing her down. A little bit. >.>

clara also winced as her baby kicked at the new movment of the couch "yeah? i am sure that the baby will love the shiny things that you put in the mobile" clara frowned "i am not sure what i can leave the baby to remember me by" she looked to the other "do you have any ideas?"

Epona bit her lip thoughtfully, her legs dangling off the couch. "Is there something you always have with you? A locket, or pictures? A special toy?"

clara blushed "no"

Epona blinked at the bunny girl's abrupt answer. "Well, maybe you can buy her a special toy or something. That would work.."

Clara nodded and smiled "that is a good idea" she looked down at her belly "here that litte one? you will get something special from me, thats all new" she robbed her belly and then stoped, surprised "wait, no! i do have somthing!" she slid off a small golden ring "my mom gave me this when i turned 13" she smiled and turned it in her fingers "she can have it"

Lulu ran into the agency with something in her arms "look clara! look! I bought you some good luck presents" she showed her the kitties.

[kitties!]

clara smiled and nodded as lulu held them out to her "they are so nice Lulu, thank you! do you like them to Epona?" she smiled at the other girl.

The halfling's eyes grew wide at the sight of the gold ring. "That's beautiful. Obviously she couldn't wear it as a ring for a long time, but if you had a pretty chain? She could wear it as a necklace." She nodded. Epona knew about jewelry.
The little halfling waved at Lulu. "Ee! Those are so cute!"

Clara smiled and Lulu eyed the pretty rings, putting the good luck charms next to Clara for safe keeping from the grabby one "ohhh, that is really pretty Clara" she raised her own hand and showed her her own gold ring "i have a ring as well, i got it from my mother when i turned 13"

Clara lit up "thats when my mother gave me this ring!" she smiled and handed her own to Lulu "please, find a chain for it for Rini and hold onto it untill she is old enough to take care of it" she smiled "i know that you are capable of taking care of it until then" she looked at her tummy and rubbed it after Lulu had taken it "like you are capable of taking care of my child" and smiled up at her again.

The halfling stuck out her tongue. "Oh don't worry, I won't take it! I was just admiring it!" She pretended to look offended for a minute before bursting into giggles.

Lulu fell back with the halfling's sillyness "you ... are..." and then giggled herself. "i know, do you want to see them better?" she got them from beside clara and held them out to Epona.

Clara nodded "yep, you can look at them closer"

"Sure." Epona held the two little charms carefully. "They're very cute." She nodded and handed them back promptly, as a sign of good faith.

Clara blinked "awesome" and smiled "i am kind of sleepy, lulu, since you are here, will you give me a ride home?"

Lulu nodded "of course i will" she got up and helped clara up, then looked at the halfling "it was great seeing you again, have a nice night" she smiled and waved as the two girls left the agency.

"See you later," Epona called. Settling back on the couch, she picked up a magazine and started flipping through it

Bored once again, Epona put the magazine down and made her way back to Kimie's house. A nap sounded good.. and maybe a snack, too.

Kimie jumped at the sound of the front door opening. "Oh hey," she said, as the halfling entered, looking distinctly tired and sweaty. "You alright there?"

Epona nodded and wandered into the kitchen. As carefully as possible, she got herself a drink of water before settling down on the couch next to Nanda. The plushikat chirred and flicked an ear in greeting.

Kimie wiped the sweat out of her eyes and ran her fingers through her hair. "Been cleaning," she explained. Mistress of the obvious. "How's things at the clinic?"

The halfling took a few sips of her water before answering. "Good, I think. I ran into Clara again. We had a nice talk...She's due in just a few days.

"I know. We'll need to see the doctor soon, too, and find out when we can expect the baby to arrive." Kimie perched on the arm of the sofa, peering at Epona critically. "You're sure you're OK?

Epona nodded again. "I'm sure. I think I just need a nap..." She started to get up and groaned. Kimie hurried to give her a supportive arm. It was times like this the cat-girl was glad of Epona's small size. She wasn't exactly an Indiana basketball player herself. The two girls made their way to the guest-room-turned-nursery. The halfling heaved herself onto the bed and allowed Kimie to tuck her in.

"Have a nice rest, Epona. I'll wake you in time for dinner." She waved and flicked the light switch. Heading back to the living room, the soft sound of Epona's light snore drifted down the hallway.

With a smile, Kimie sank down onto the couch to watch some crappy TV for a bit.

I miss the road.
I miss my old body.
I'm so weighed down.
I don't feel like myself.
I'm so restless.
I want to sleep.
I want this baby out.
