something new?
An oddly pale, blue haired young women with wierd smokey things around her shoulder blades walked silently up the driveway, a white, fist-sized plastic jar in one hand. She looks a bit translucent, almost as if a strong gust of wind could blow her apart. Not a single sound did she make as she approached the front door purposefully.
She stood in front of the door, paused as if trying to make a final decision, and left the white jar next to the doorstep where it could easily be seen but not stepped on by anyone going to and from the house.
The wind suddenly picked up. She took one last look at the white jar sitting contently, if that's possible for a jar, on that little patch on concrete, before disappearing into a thin drift of white-blue smoke, dissolving into the wind.
It was late in the day when lulu and family got home. Lulu had about 3 bags of groceries in her hands, as did Zinthose and Julia. It was Rini that saw the ajar on their way into the house, because Lulu was struggling with the keys and the others were chatting behind her.
"wa it?" said Rini. She had carried it into the house and into the kitchen where the others had started to put away the groceries.
Zin was the first to kneel down to the young tots level and look at what she had in her hands "it looks like a jar" she took the jar from Rini's hands and patted her with her other hand "ill show it to mom, maybe we can open it" and smiled before turning to Lulu. "Hey mom, can we open this?"
Lulu gave it the once over and opened the lid. There was a round ? thing inside "I wonder what it could be" then the thing shivered "hey! It moved! Maybe its alive" she nodded to herself. "You can show Rini if you like Zin, but ill need it back, we need to find out more about it" and handed the jar to Zin.
Zin nodded before crouching down to Rini's level again. "Mom said not to touch, just look" and held it out for the girl.
Rini looked in at the blob "woooow" she stated with big eyes as her tail wiggled. When she did so the blob shivered again "Hehe, he lik me" the blob did this sort of wiggly motion and Rini got all sad "meany!" and ran out of the room crying.
Julia, Zin and Lulu watched her go before Julia ran after her "what's wrong Rini Silly?" and some talk could be heard as she comforted the girl.
Zin stood up and looked back into the jar, it was still, and she hadn't heard any noise coming from it when Rini was talking. This was something new.
Lulu took the jar and started to her room. "its odiously not nice, so I will keep it safe from my child until I can not" The blob did not move for the rest of the day.

Dear Journal,
I finnaly get to write in my journal again! The last few months have been really hectice for the fmily and me. Mom has had to move twice. once because of a small fire the land lord didnt like, and the other because of a reason she wont tell me. Well this whole thing has ment pur chaos for me and the others. We have been totaly isolated from our usualy friends because mother really needed us. Well things are getting better now, but mom is being really strange. Even though we have a new house, which is TOTALY cool by the way! I have to tell you all about the room! But anyway, shes being really protective about where we go. Its really getting on Zin's nervers, because shes all grown up now and wants to go find her friend Lucien. I dont really blaim her though, I want to go find my friend Marik and tell him about all the crazy things that have been happening to me.
Well anyway, on to telling you about my new room!! OMG it is just so TOTALY cool! <3 i got the atick and turned it into my own personal space! In the old house that is where Zin lived, but Zin is living in the guest house out back now! I am SO happy! there is a large bed and all my things. I can look out a boucany window and see everyone, it even has a tinny pourch! It makes me so happy. I hope that my friends will come over soon. I want everyone to see how well i am doing. I hope that Merik hasnt forgotten me. that would be so sad! Can you keep a secret little diary? i think i like him! eeeeeee, hehehe, i said it! but shhhhhh. Its just between you and me, ok? ok! well talk to you later

Dear Diary,
Rini has been growing up so fast. I wish that icould spend more time with her, but there is justso much to do. She seems to be getting into alot of mischif latly. I hope its not because of that dragon boy she likes to play with, Marik. He seems to really like her, at lest thats what Rayne tells me. I hope that everything goes well from here. She keeps buging me to get her hair dyed and get priceings. Why not i think, but then also i hesitate. Anyway, shes exploring theworld more and it makes me happy. Talk to you later, almost all unpacked.

Jivvin Center part 1 Lulu_Tiffany Rini was holding the still oscar in her arms. Her mother, Lulu had just dropped the two of them off at the center to see what it was all about. It had been many months since Rini watched this litte ball of fluff hatch from an egg. Mother had said that it was to protect and guid her, Rini just though it was really soft. "go there" said Oscar as he pointed forward to the old looking building. Oscar never liked to be held like he was for long, being held under his arms with his legs hanging. But it couldnt be helped, Rini wasnt that tall yet. Smart, but still not that strong eather, so anyway that she could hold him was the way that he was going to be held. "all right, lets go see" Rini walked forward and stoped at the door. she felt like she should knock or something. "hello?" she knocked on the door, then opened it "is anyone here?" she opened it enough so that they where now standing in the room. Halfling Elf Sameil had been lugged back to the Center with Puu and Kiiri again, but this time Halfling Elf came as well. Her excuse to the Sprites had been that she hadn't been the the Center in much too long and wanted to visit; Sameil suspected that she just came so she could sleep on the couch without someone coming to ask her something. Well, if that was the case, H.E. certainly wouldn't be getting any shut-eye with Puu around.
Who, of course, was immediantly at the door as soon as someone came through it. Sameil was just happy that the damned Sprite was leaving her alone to her space on the other couch.
"Hello hello helloooooo! I am Puu! Who you? Who you?" The Sprite chittered at the young girl and Jivvin. "I here! Puu here! Nice to meeeeeet yoooou~!"
"Puu, calm down a bit. You're going to scare them~ But hi! I'm Halfling Elf. Nice to meet you," greeted the red-head from the couch. "The Jivvin on the other couch is Sameil, and the white Sprite is Kiiri." She pointed to the meek Snow Sprite sitting next to her, grinning. "What's your names?" Lulu_Tiffany Rini smiled her bunny ears looked very happy and her little bunny tail twitched. "hello! My Name is Rini Tiffany, its nice to meet you" Rini hopped Oscar up into her arms higher, makeing her pink hair flop a little into her face, she spat it out "and this is Oscar" she seemed to be having a hard time keeping the little one in her arms. she quickly crosed the room and placed Oscar onto the couch "thats beter" she smiled as she looked around to everyone "Its nice to meet you all" Oscar sat up and nodded "hello" he was very happy that he was out of Rinis arms. He wished that he couold speak more though. He looked about him, these were cretures like him. He was very interested in then and looked them up and down. Heartless!Kimi
The Jumi carried the golden egg boldly, marching through the front door with her nose up.
"Verde, you should really watch where you step, don't want to trip." Kimiko had watched the girl's grand stride for a few days now, and it seemed that the little one was always in danger of tripping. And since she now carried around the egg everywhere she went, tripping was indeed a very, very bad action to perform. She wasn't quite familiar with the workings of the center, having been there only once, and for a short time as well. It was a marvel that she and the small girl had even made it to the place safely, considering how remote the location was. Following the curly-haired child through the door, the teen gave a small sigh and looked up. Ooh, there were people here! One of them she knew, Halfling Elf, but who was the other? Verde settled herself and the egg in a comfortable spot on the floor, giving a small wave to the others in the room. She had an egg to tend to, by gosh -- she didn't have time for idle chit-chat, like her guardian.Halfling Elf "Hullo," Halfling Elf replied back to the First, grin slightly larger than before. Kiiri blinked and nodded her head towards both; Puu chattered at the two.
"Do Rini-Rini and Os-Car want to play? Huh? Huh? Puu want to play!" He squealed, too distracted to notice the other newcomers. Halfling Elf and Sameil did, however; H.E. grinned at her friend and waved, while Sameil just snorted and raised herself from the couch. She didn't want to deal with these annoyances. With a flick of her tail and a thought sent to her 'owner' (the girl would follow her if she didn't know where she was going, the smothering fool) Sameil headed out to the back porch, her ferret on her heels. Lulu_Tiffany Rini smiled kindly at Puu "yes, we would love to play with you, right Oscar?" she smiled back at her friend. She knew that he wasnt as energertic as this one seemed to be, he wasmore like a calm child, one that any mother would love to have because they never cried at night. But he also did like to play. Ocar smiled "yes" and hopped off the couch and rubed against Rini's legs, looking at the other "what want play?" he looked calm and together. He had lived with others that where hyper like this one, and was ok with playing with them. He wished he could talk more. Heartless!Kimi Verde watched the large green one disappear onto the back porch. It didn't look very interesting, but what was that following it? A ferret? How very intriguing.
"I'm heading out for some fresh air," the Jumi said, and lifted herself and the egg from the seat they had just gotten comfortable in. Following the path that Sameil had taken, the green-haired girl and her egg stepped onto the porch quietly.
"Nice ferret," she commented, glancing over to the Jivvin.Kimiko greeted the redhead with a noogie, cackling maniacally. "That's for the one you gave me at the party," she said, and grinned. Halfling Elf "YAY! Playplayplayplayplay!" Puu ran around the two, happy that someone would finally play with him! "Tag! Lets play tag!" He chirped, suddenly halting and bounced up and down. "And Os-Car IT!" Bopping the Jivvin on the nose, Puu shrieked with joy and dashed away as quickly as possible.
"Owowowowow-- I give uuuuuup!" Halfling Elf laughed, flailing a bit in her friend's face. "Revenge taken and accepted! Should we kiss and make up?" The red head raspberried her friend before lifting up Kiiri. "Because Kiiri really needs some love."
Kiiri looked understandably panicked.
Sameil looked out of the corner of her eye towards the little thing that had followed her. Was it too much to ask for some peace and quiet?
"Tell him that yourself; he's certainly smart enough to understand," the Olplyn answered before looking towards the forest. If she could avoid a conversation with a child, then she would do her best to do so. They were a general waste of time. Heartless!Kimi "Of course!" Kimi replied matter-of-factly, and planted a kiss on Kiiri's forehead. "Ah, so you have a special ferret? I understand that normal ferrets aren't capable of conprehending human speech," Verde replied, waving her little fingers at the animal.
"In a land far, far away, there was a nameless monster.." the Jumi said, enunciating each word to the egg cradled in her arms.The sprite was hiding under the couch. The new people that had come were so.. scary! And loud, from what he had heard! Giving a small squeak, the reindeer sprite poked its head out from under the safe spot for just a moment, before ducking back under.
The people were scary.Lulu_Tiffany Oscar looked extreamly shocked "wha?" he then looked at Rini, but she was already running away "wait!" Oscar acualy had forgotten how to play, so her ran after Rini "how play?" he asked in a paniced voice. Rini cept running "you have to tag someone. Then they are it and they chase everyone else" she giggled as she ran faster. "but you have to go count first" she yelled running and finding a hiding spot. Oscar stopped aquwardly and tilted his head "ok" and then began "1... 2.. 3.. 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9.... 10" he then went running around trying to find one of them. Halfling Elf Pah! No one would catch the mighty Puu! The small Tree Sprite shrieked again with happiness, dashing from the front room and into the kitchen. No one'd look for him here! And if they did, he had several escapes he could use. Oh, he was totally going to win!
Kiiri looked absolutely relieved that she only had to suffer a kiss to the forehead, and shyly nuzzled Kimi's face back. Halfling Elf grinned behind her.
"Awww~ You two should get married."
Kiiri froze again in shock.
Mino grinned a ferret grin at the green-haired girl and scurried over towards her, looking for a pet.
"I agree that it should be impossible for him to comprehend us, but I have discovered that many things on Gaia are scientific phemonenons." Sameil replied dryly, somewhat surprised that the seemingly young child would know that about ferrets. Of course this happened everywhere on Gaia, so why was she even slightly surprised? She shifted her weight to get more comfortable with her bandages and became silent again, half-listening to the story. It didn't sound like any story she knew. Heartless!Kimi "Who'd be the groom, and who'd be the bride?" Kimi grinned back, giving Kiiri a pat on the head. Scary people scary people scary people--!
The sprite purred sadly and rolled onto his back, pawing at the fabric ceiling above him. He wanted out of this room, with the scary people! The scary LOUD people!Verde smiled back and patted the ferret gently on the head, before continuing on with the story.
"The monster wanted a name so badly, so the monster left to go on a journey to find a name. But the world was so large, that he split into two to make his journey. One went to the west, and the other went towards the east." The egg jiggled slightly. It had heard this story before; several times, in fact.Lulu_Tiffany Rini was hidding in an old trunk. She was giggling, probibly not the best thing for her to be doing, so she went quite again. She wondered how long it would take for Oscar to find her. She really hoped that it didnt take very long. Oscar started to look around, if he knew Rini then she wouldnt pick the smartist place to hide. He began to look everywere he could. Which wasnt many places. "you know cant lift much" he yelled out. Rini herd him and crused her hiding place, she lifted the lid and was happy he wasnt right by here, she hid behind a curtan now. Halfling Elf "Hmmmm. . . Heard choice. Draw lots for it?" H.E. cackled, swinging Kiiri gently from side to side. The poor Jivvin Sprite seemed to be incapable of getting out of her shock.
Puu was still humming back and forth in the kitchen with the exception of having some marshmallows smushed into his mouth. Hey, he was hungry, and what else was a kitchen good for~?
"Your egg does not seem amused," Sameil commented during a break in the story; while it was somewhat interesting, she could simply research the story later if she needed to know the end of it. "What is your name, child?" Lulu_Tiffany Rini wasnt having much fun anymore, she had a really short attention span. Oscar was looking under anything that he could. It was then that he found Rini and rubbed his tail aginst her leg "found you" he said in a slight sing song voice. Rini smiled and picked up her friend "i am so happy you found me, i dont really like this game anyway. Lets say that we go find our new friend and then get a snack?" she put Oscar down and they walked into the kitchen. then she remebered to tell Puu that they had stopped "Puu! We decided to stop playing and have a snack! you can stop hidding" she yelled out, hoping that would work. Heartless!Kimi "That's possible," Kimiko nodded, "but do you really think they make wedding dresses for..." She paused, poking the sprite in the stomach gently. "Snowman.. things? Or tuxes, for that matter?" "It's heard this story a few times before," Verde replied, running a finger down the golden eggshell. "I'm researching what will happen if it continually hears the same story, and whether or not the story will have an impact on it when it hatches."
To the response of the Jivvin's question, the Jumi gave a simple answer: "Verde." She would answer with more if she was asked.The sprite sniffled slightly, gazing out from the small spot he could see from. He didn't want to go out, there were scary people about! But the spot beheath the couch was... dark. And dark was the equivalence of scary.
Crawling out from his safe spot, the sprite quickly dashed into an opposing room, avoiding any and all obstacles. Contact with these people might be deadly, he had to take all precautions.Halfling Elf "Psh, this is Gaia. Someone'd probably do it, if only because it's such an insane idea!" Halfling Elf finally switched her hold on the sprite so she was cupped in her arms rather than dangling. Kiiri huddled down as far as she could go. "Since there's so many crazy people here anyway," H.E. added, before giggling and petting the poor snow Sprite. "Don't worry, Ri~ We're only joking! You don't have to marry Kimi if you don't want to."
"Interesting. Do you have a hypothesis?" Sameil's respect went up a few notches for this 'Verde'. It had been far too long since she had had an intelligent conversation with someone.
"But Puu not win yet! Puu want to win!" He whined, running out from under the kitchen table and nearly into the other two. "What we doing now? More play?" Heartless!Kimi "You're right, they probably would." Kimiko nodded in understanding, before bursting into laughter. She gave the sprite another poke in the stomach, then fell back into the cushions of the couch. It had been a while since she had gotten a good rest like this one. "The subject, after being read to so many times, will begin to believe that it is living in the story's world. And when it hatches, it will behave like the main character in the story -- in this case, our nameless monster." The Jumi nodded, hair bobbing up and down to match her head movements.
"Would you like to hear the rest of the story?" she asked, looking to the green-and-red Jivvin.Yes! He was free! Free from those.. loud.. nuisances! But this room was dark, too. The sprite padded around in a circle, trying to figure out what to do. What to do, what to do?!Lulu_Tiffany Rini patted Puu on the head "we are hungery, we where hoping that you could show us some food around here" she didnt want to go rumaging into the cabnits and things one her own, she thought that this one would know where it was. Oscar nodded "i want food" Halfling Elf "Fridge!" Puu shouted, grinning after the pat. "Lots of food in fridge, yes yes! Good cold food!" After all, it was a hot day; who wouldn't want to crunch ice cubes?
"Ahhhh." Halfling Elf flopped down next to her friend, sinking slightly into the cushions and releasing Kiiri so she could lay down next to her. "You know, maybe we should start complaining about how old we are. Think we've hit that stage yet?"
"Hmm," was all the Olplyn said, musing over it and her own theories about that particular experiment.
"It will alter your experiment if you do not, correct? Then I find no problem with it." She replied. She was curious what 'personality' this egg would be morphing to; she could see the creature after it hatched and discover if it had worked. Heartless!Kimi "You can," the teen snorted, "I'm only fifteen. I've got years to go before I hit my midlife crisis." "Alright," Verde nodded, and went on with her tale. It was a particularly gory story, about how the nameless monster would enter the bodies of people and consume them from inside out.
"'I have a name. It's a wonderful name, too.'
The monster who went to the west said, 'I don't need a name. I'm happy even without a name.'
We just have to accept that we are monsters without a name.
The boy ate the monster who went to the west.
He finally had a name, but all the people who could call him by that name had disappeared.
And Johann was such a wonderful name, too."
She clapped her hands together to symbolize the closing of a storybook, and looked towards the Jivvin. "Interesting story, isn't it?"The noise in the other room seemed to have quieted down. The sprite couldn't wait another second in the scary room! He lept out fom his hiding spot and into the room, sliding a few inches before stopping dead-center in the middle of the lighted room. He could feel all eyes on him! And was the room.. spinning?!Lulu_Tiffany Rini nodded "that is a great idea Puu" she walked over to the fridge and opend it. "on, look here, there are ice pops in here" she got three of them out and looked around "ok, all we need now is something to open it up with" Oscar nodded "Puu know where at?" he looks at the other.
