Endless started laughing. It wasn't a mean laugh. It wasn't really even a purposeful laugh. It was just one of those laughs that starts when you don't know what to do and you need to get rid of the stress inside. He ended up rolling off the hummock and wound up on his back before he could stop and rolled himself back to his feet. "Quite the pair we make." His tone was wry, but not quite as sad.
He started packing some snow together and then rolled it along the ground toward her. "Liliana is a lovely name... it suits you." He turned his gaze and coughed just slightly, hoping that didn't sound like a pick up line or something. It wasn't meant as one... He nudged the snowball toward her. "You want to try making something?" She'd seemed interested earlier... well, not in making something, per say, but in the fact that something was made. Maybe it would help her to express some of what she was feeling in a way she could deal with.

Only her eyes turned to watch the ball of snow come her way. She did not know what to make of his laughter or the following statement. "It's Latin for "Lily" ... " She continued to watch the ball. "Thank you. I... I've always liked it."
Sighing she gazed at the snowball almost forlornly. "I wouldn't know what to make." Only then did she move her head. She raised it to match her gaze to his with her honest question. "How do you decide what to make? Do they all tell you they want to be made?"

Endless sat back and considered the question. "Sometimes I just pick something... first thing to come to mind. Sometimes..." he waved a paw at the phoenix, "I make what I feel. I've felt like a phoenix trying to rise from the ashes a lot in my life. Maybe that's why it found me. Or maybe I did make it up. Not sure it really matters..."
He rolled his shoulders again and nudged the snowball toward her a bit more. "Make what you feel. Or the first thing that comes to mind. Or... I dunno, a little animal. A flower." He chuckled softly. "Maybe you could make a little snow-lily."

Lily smiled at the idea of a snow lily. "I'll leave that to you... lilies are too delicate for a first try."
She closed her eyes lightly to try and think of something. Seeing eggs the crimson furred female frowned. Her tails even stopped moving and she shuddered angrilly. "I don't want to make what I feel. Nor what comes to mind."
The words came out harsh & she instantly regretted it, glancing at Endless apologetically. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean... I don't know." She looked away, laying her head on her paws again. "I'm not good company tonight."

Endless hesitated for a moment and then set a paw on her shoulder just long enough to say, "If you're feeling anything like I was earlier I wouldn't expect you to be." He turned his solemn gaze down to the snowball and rolled it a short distance off. "You sure you want me to do it instead?" He'd rather make something that she could take with her... snow melted after a while.
He gave a mental shrug, however, and piled a bit more snow on before he started packing it together. He started to flatten the middle a bit more and then thought of something else... He worked for several minutes in silence before he scooted away hesitantly so she could see. "So uh... is that ok or are you gonna shoot me?" It was a snow-lily, all right... with a snow-Lili face in the center.

She nodded mutely for him to go ahead, choking on her anger & feeling guilty that she might be bringing him down. Tilting her head to watch him Liliana marveled again at how he could make anything from snow. She could not see what he was making from where she lay. Her ears perked at his question. What an odd thing to ask. "Whyever would I shoot you?"
Liliana had not looked at the new snow sculpture but now she did. A smile faltered and fluttered across her maw seeing the lily but then...
Her brows creased & Liliana stood silently to pad over the snow covered ground for a closer look. She stopped beside Endless, nearly in the place he had been while last working on the snow lily. The face of a kitsu in the flower's center befuddled her on many levels. But it was beautiful. "Is that... me?" Liliana asked, voice soft with awe & wonder.

Endless grinned, just slightly, and nodded. "You told me to do it... so..." He looked around aimlessly, feeling slightly embarrassed. She was beautiful... she already was a work of art. The snow-Lili was a poor representation at best, but he wanted her to feel better... he just wasn't sure if it was helping yet.
His shoulder twitched in a bit of a nervous tick and he rolled his shoulders again. "It doesn't do you justice, but..." he murmured only just audibly, and then a little louder said, "I guess I thought you might like it."
He still couldn't quite bring himself to look at her, so he just watched the sky for a moment and let his mind wander a bit... "Do you like cherries?" Then he laughed at himself, realizing that sounded rather odd and out of the blue. "Er... I was thinking it would look better if I could color the snow, and then I started thinking about snowcones... and cherry would be about the color of your fur..." He shook his head. "Wrong time of year to be thinking about snowcones, though."

She smiled softly shaking her head. Lily had told him he should make a lily... but she had not meant her too. "Do I really look like that?" Remus' eldest daughter rarely looked at herself in the mirror. Oh, she kept herself groomed -any other day but today since her parents had shared their good news- but she never bother on how she looked. It was always enough that her Daddy called her his beautiful little girl. Her lip quivered slightly.
Endless' question caught her before Liliana could begin crying all over again. His laughter & subsequent ramblings brought a soft smile to her face, nearly touching her green eyes. "Yes, I do. Like cherries that is. Not snowcones so much. I'd rather have ice cream."
Then she laughed too. Not the kind of laugh for happiness so much as the kind of laugh one has when finding themself in a situation wholly at odds with their mood.

Endless found himself laughing too. He wasn't... ok... but his mood was better. Then again he'd been dealing with the problems for a long time. "I like ice cream better too... but it's still too cold for it." He stuck his tongue out impishly for a moment, but the moment was shortly ruined by a shiver. It was coooold. They really ought to get... well, if not inside, then somewhere a little more sheltered where they could warm up a bit. He looked forlornly at the snow sculptures, but more so at the Lili-lily. He actually had made that for her... "It's a shame those are going to melt..."

"Yes... now's the time for hot chocolate milk and teas." She did not really feel the cold much yet. But then their house was kept fairly cold by most everyone outside the family's opinion. Except for the dragon Medusa's room. And of course that beach audio AearHwesta had brought home with him when she was a kit always complained about it being too cold. Liliana wondered that Gwen had never made a room, then shrugged it away as the valley girl being too stupid to be able to work the magic of the door. Gwen's loss. She totally missed both Endless' stuck out tongue & his shiver.
Her gaze followed his, though she looked at both sculptures equally missing the significance of how he had made the one purely for her. "It is. Maybe you should try sculpting clay of something that lasts. You really have too much talent to waste it only on things that won't last."
She sighed softly. She had never created anything. Liliana would not know where to begin. She simply was not creative.

Endless ear flicked as he considered her suggestion to use clay. "I suppose I could... I know I could get some..." Then he could really make something for her, so maybe she'd have something to help cheer her up next time. There always seemed to be a next time... in his experience.
He considered her for a moment afterward, not missing the sigh. Without missing a beat he murmured, "Snow's probably not your medium... Doesn't seem to be much of anyone's but mine, really. At least I've never heard of anyone else doing stuff like this with it. I'm sure there's something else you're good at making."
He stood and shook himself, looking off in the direction of the HQ. It seemed a safer place to ask her to go than back to his house... even if he wasn't as comfortable there. "Hot chocolate milk and teas..." he mused aloud. "Hot chocolate sounds good. You want some?"

"Nothing wrong with working with snow. It's just a shame they won't last." Liliana did not even realize she was repeating him. Not that she had not heard, more that his words had sunk in so deeply she did not notice they were not her own. "Making, maybe. But creating...?" Liliana shook her head firmly -this time enough to dislodge some of the snow gathering there so that it fell softly about her face. "I lack something for it. Don't know what it is, but whatever it is, I don't have it."
Her eyes became faraway & if Endless had not spoken it is possible the winged female might have forgotten she was not alone. "Hmm? Hot chocolate? Yes, I suppose so." She tried to smile at him but her heart was not in it. Liliana almost wanted to go somewhere alone but something would not let her. She padded lightly over the snow -sometimes being small for a kitsu had it's advantages- until she was beside the male, her gaze following his. "Aunt Ginny says they're usually pretty well stocked. And maybe she recently made cookies that haven't been eaten yet."
White & gold tails flicked once, almost happy at the thought.

Endless chuckled softly for a moment. "Cookies, eh?" Cookies invoked images of Diina... images that recently included her belly getting rounder and attempts to make the perfect nest in her pillow pile. "Cookies are good... Did you say Ginny?" He remembered a red-headed witch by that name from a party a while back. The floating glasses of pumkin juice had made a rather large impression where he might otherwise not have remembered the name so readily. "Red head, makes things float around?"

Starting to walk Liliana paused to look at him with a small nod. "Yeah, Aunt Ginny has long red hair. But she can do much more than the levitation spell."
She watched him curiously, wondering what his thoughts were on witches and wizards. He did not seem abhorent to the idea. Liliana was not certain why that should matter to her. But if he knew her Aunt Ginny... maybe he was the same Endless they had mentioned. She racked her brain but could not recall much. Just that he was social enough.
Lightly she started trotting towards headquarters. She decided not to tell him just yet that she was a witch too... he would see soon enough when she took her wand from the holster on her leg where it blended into the black fur of her inner leg to make the hot chocolate. Then she would see...
What? Liliana did not know. And that bothered her.

Endless padded after Lili, doing his best not to stare after her. Her tails were almost hypnotic for some reason. Lack of sleep. Had to be it... right? "She made good pumpkin juice. I'd never really thought to try it before." He was such a great conversationalist...
He trotted around her just a bit so he could open the door for her. He took the opportunity to peek inside. "Looks quiet..." There didn't seem to be anyone around, at least not in the main room. It was late though... most Kitsu would be at home or tucked into one of the sleeping rooms here by this time, especially with the weather. It just seemed important... he doubted she really wanted a lot of people around right now any more than he did. He stepped in so that she could get around him and he could make sure he didn't accidentally hit her with the door or something.
He kept his voice low, just in case someone was around. He didn't want to wake the place up or something. "So, you use milk when you make hot chocolate? Everyone's usually lazy around our place and just use hot water... then again we have a lot of cider, teas, and coffees too... well, and soda, but that doesn't require the coffee pot..." He knew he was rambling but... well, one of them ought to talk, right? And he wasn't about to start prying at her if she didn't feel like talking about stuff.
