"Are you bonkers? If I do that again, I'm liable to sprain something. I'm not as agile as I used to be." Seth rubbed at his back and winced. "Bloody hell.."
"Hmph... you didn't locate it then?" He seemed dissapointed. "Oh well, one day I'll find them all and keep this entire area free of them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes walking around through this area and doesn't like to be watched." He shook his head. "It's especially no good if they're placed everywhere. That will severely mess some things up..."

Gaius continued to stare at Seth with confusion, understanding his words, but the meaning behind them continued to elude him. There was definitely something he wasn't getting.
"Mess what up?" he asked point-blank.

Seth's attention was turned to Gaius after his statement, and he stared at the other man for a few moments, seeming to be debating something over in his mind.
"We should, er..." He looked around again, checking once more for the ever-present cameras. "Got some time to spare? We need to get somewhere else before I go through this explanation, otherwise it's sunk before it even bloody begins. But first thing's first - you don't want to be here on this island right?"

The horse-man gave a derisive snort and head-toss, though he was careful to keep his voice down. "Of course not! I mean, look what they've done to me! I'd give anything to get out of here."
Though it didn't occur to Gaius Seth might be implying some kind of plan, it did remind him of his own schemes. And the man's confidential tone drew his interest. "Where... is there some place less open?"

"Yeah, from the looks of you, I'd say it's about as bad as what they've done to me." Seth commented. "Though with all due respect, you probably looked a lot better than I did." He grinned, seemed pleased with Gaius's response. "Somewhere less open? You got it. Follow me."
Seth moved past Gaius and bounded on ahead without any more of a warning. He half-walked, half-ran ahead with a rather odd-looking semi-bounding gait. The human side of him wanted to run, the thylacine's back legs wanted to bound like a kangaroo.
"Come on, then!" He called back. "I know of a really good spot!"

Gaius flushed slightly with shame at the jab at his looks, particularly aware of his own face and the thick hair-growth he'd acquired. But then, this guy wasn't much better...
He had to take off at a run, Vixen bounding along in front of him as they followed the guy through the brush. Gaius's wings were extended to help him with the tight turns the man seemed to like to make, though he had to be careful to pull them in, unless he wanted to lose a limb passing between the tight trees.
"Wh-where we going?" he called after Seth. The horse-man hoped he wasn't being led into one of the more dangerous islanders' territories.

"If I told you, the area is liable to be bugged like all the other areas in a few weeks!" Seth called back to Gaius as he ran on ahead, heading down one of the many paths he seemed to know very well now.
His travels brought him down onto the beach, and he headed for the shore line. Jordan's special duplex was in the distance and at the other end of the beach, but Seth had absolutely no intention of going there right now. He finally stopped at the shore line and crouched over, panting heavily, trying to catch his breath, turning his attention back towards Gaius to see if he was coming or not.
"Just... up here..." He panted. He felt ridiculously out of shape.

Where Seth had the knowledge of the area to guide his feet, Gaius had no such skill. The horse-man crashed and bumbled through the foilage, graceful as a half-shaved ox. Vixen, at least, had the advantage of four legs, and being nimble enough to dodge and weave. So, when they finally came to the beach and open space again, it was greatly to Gaius's relief.
He wasn't as out of breath as the other man was, but his legs were scratched, as were his arms, from the passing branches, and he was sure there were bruises all over his feet and legs beneath the hair. Gulping in air through his dilated nostrils, the horse-man nodded wordlessly and followed where Seth lead, taking no notice of the housing at the far end of their beach.
Gaius wondered to himself if they were heading for some place near the water, where the waves were breaking. Antony had once told him that it was the best place to avoid being overheard...

"There's... some rocks on the far side of the shoreline down here..." He panted as he headed into the ocean, standing in it until it was about 1ft deep. "Sorry to lead you on a wild goose chase. I hope the dog will be all right. If not, tell her to sit on the beach, perhaps."
The thylacine-man headed for some craggy dark coloured rocks that poked out of the water, misshapen and twisted courtesy of sea-water erosion. After he made his way into the middle of them, he crouched down on all fours, looking around to see if he was out of sight of any cameras. He heard none.
"Perfect," He nodded in approval. "Sit anywhere you like, this will take a while to explain." He smirked in a devious manner and looked excited. The fact that he could explain what he was planning to another finally filled him with much glee.

"Nah nah, it's okay..." Gaius muttered, rubbing a welt on his ankle before following Seth down the stretch of beach. Vixen, seeming to take offense at Seth's air, trotted along beside the thylacine man with her nose in the air. Gaius could only shake his head and wonder what was up with his unusual dog.
Once within the line of rocks, Gaius glanced around, trying to find the driest spot available, which happened to be a pretty wet and hole-riddled rock encrusted on its underside with shellfish. His lower legs were already sopping wet, the black hair hanging in long, dripping tendrils, and as he sat, his tail soaked up the water as well. However, Seth's odd manners were enough to make Gaius withstand the minor uncomfortableness, not even minding the waves that lapped up against the rock and over. Seth was an odd man, but he'd been a hard worker, and his mentions of escaping the island had sparked Gaius's intrigue. Making himself as comfortable as he could manage, the horse-man leaned forward, attentive and open. "On this island, I've got all the time in the world."

"Hah," Seth replied, half amused, half frustrated with the statement. "How I know that feeling well. There's not much to do around here except walk around, scratch your arse, drink, get pissed as a fart, perhaps lie in the sun. They don't really keep us busy here, now do they?"
He looked over at Gaius and tilted his head in curiousity. "I didn't run over here too fast for ya, did I? You look a bit banged up there."
"Hmm..." The thylacine-man pondered how to begin He glanced out towards the ocean and spoke in a low voice, his tone calm. "I don't know how to mince words, so I'll just say this outright - I think I have a sturdy enough plan to get the hell out of here, off the island. Maybe not everyone at the same time, but a fair few at least."
"If it doesn't work out entirely, it'll at least stir up some trouble for the lab bastards who did this mess to us." He paused. "That's why I wanted to drag you out here, if they pick it up on the cameras in the jungle and listen in on us, they'll probably keep an extra watch on me or something. D'ya know what I mean?"

Gaius snorted, knowing all too well the idleness that consumed most of the islanders. It'd been something he'd been fighting too, and part of what spurred him to take on such projects like the theater. He waved off the concern about himself as well, waiting for Seth to get to the meat.
He wasn't disappointed. The horse-man leaned closer, his neck and ears craning to make sure he caught exactly what the man was saying. Vixen too tilted her head, seeming to take an interest.
"You... you do?" Gaius asked in a voice barely above a whisper. "I'd... been thinking of ones myself. Trying to. I was thinking maybe... something... like a raft..." Augh, how stupid that sounded now, Gaius berated himself.

"A raft?" Seth raised an eyebrow at him. "I thought about that at first - no good. You'd be on it for God-only-knows how long and you couldn't steer it anywhere. You could be stuck on it for weeks, months, who knows. And you'd probably die of dehydration, or end up as shark-food if your raft busted."
He shook his head. "No, no good..."
"I've been thinking of escaping pretty much since I got here, or at least after I learned I wasn't going home anyway, bloody Dr Duvert." He made a loud animalistic hiss and continued. "No, you'd have to do something they wouldn't expect. I'm not sure exactly when the idea came to me, but it's feasible, and has a fair chance at working."
"I'm thinking of digging," He returned his attention to Gaius once again, his expression one of dead-seriousness. "I'm thinking of getting a group of islanders who're interested in getting out of here, digging a hole and an underground passage under the island, reaching out to the Feral Labs complex fence. Then we dig under or through it, and into their space. They wouldn't think of that - why the hell would anyone want to get IN their grounds to escape? Who'd expect that one?"
He grinned. "From there we could, well..." He waved a paw in the air. "We could do anything. Storm the building, take fuel out of their jeeps and set fire to stuff, the jungle, their stupid facility, anything we felt like. We could also steal their jeeps and drive em out to the helicopter pad, steal the helicopter and fly off."
"There's only one problem with that plan," Seth frowned. "I can hotwire the jeeps, that's not much of a problem. But I don't know of anyone who knows how to fly a helicopter. If we storm the helicopter too, we have to overpower that dark-skinned rough lookin' fella with the sunglasses somehow."

Gaius fidgeted, rubbing his hoof-nails together as Seth went over the obvious problems with his raft idea. "Yeah... It was more hopeful thinking..."
Duvert's name brought a mutual sneer from the horse-man. That expression was quickly wiped aside by a disbelieving surprise, which continued as Seth unfolded his grand scheme. "Digging...? Really? I mean, it's not what I would have thought of, but... But..." Slowly, a smile crept across his face. "But, that's probably why it's so genius! The labs wouldn't think of that, not attacking from below. Head-on, sure, and even sneak attacks, but if we come in on their ground, invade them... Even come up behind them." He tapped his fingers together excitedly. "Yeah! We can do this! And I bet the helicopter isn't as hard as it seems. Probably like an arcade controller or something, we could get someone like Liamh to pilot it."
"So..." Gaius looked up at Seth, eyes bright with eagerness. "When can we start?"

Seth's brows were raised and he seemed a little taken aback with Gaius's excited reaction at first. He had expected to be scolded for how silly it was, or worse.
"Well, it's not really a matter of when just yet. It's more of an if... there's some bugs I haven't ironed out," He frowned. "Such as how to get through that bloody fence - its probably twenty feet high, and probably like that underground too. It's also electrified too, no doubt. We'd need wire cutters with rubber handles so the poor b*****d who cuts through it doesn't get electrocuted, or worse, killed. How to get those though, I don't really know. Not something the island really keeps around, or let's us have, don't you think?"
"See that duplex all by itself at the other end of the beach?" Seth turned his head and pointed it out with a clawed index finger. "A gullible idiot lives there by the name of Jordan. I came up with an idea about where to put the dirt from the tunnels - make a giant statue of Doctor Moreau out of it. That Jordan guy is so loyal to him, you even mention the doctor's name and he becomes all happy and stuff and he wags his ridiculous tail. He was more than happy to agree to my ideas of building a statue of the Doctor. So that's the dirt taken care of." He smirked. "It works as a cover, and it gives us something to do with the dirt that'll be coming up from the tunnel. Good, ey?"
"I also asked the Jordan guy about getting wire cutters," Seth continued on. "I made up some rubbish about the statue needing a solid wire frame to hold it up." He grinned. "He bought the story - hook, line, and sinker. Said he was only too happy to help, but I haven't heard back from him yet, and he certainly hasn't given me no wire cutters." He snarled. "I might even have to call up the labs and ask for em myself, unless you can think of where to get some. I'm all ears to any suggestions on that one..."
