Xemaca I am happy to report that I am slowly constructing a visual of the bridge. Now no laughs about this, but I'm doing quite well using a program called MLCAD...a program that builds structures...using...well... legos...but I promise that it will be rather good. Here's a sneak preview...the helm, where I'm technically posted is the first thing I constructed. Great job! We could use some visuals around here ^O^!

Xemaca Smithwillsuffice... *walks into engineering* Ohohohohohohohohohhohohohohohoho........ The walls, the buttons, the shinies, the not-so-shinies, it's... it's beautiful. Lt. Relie ma'am, request permission to have my quarters converted to a sleeping bag that I can remain in here as much as possible. I'm sorry Private, but I'm going to have to deny that request. All ship engineers and mechanics need their rest, and you can't really get a good night's sleep in a sleeping bag. Your quarters are near the engineering department though, alongside the quarters of the Chief Mechanic, Second, and Third Mechanics as well. Well poo. At least I'll be getting in plenty of hours...

Here it is, the upper most level on the ship. The "top" Level bridge. Underneath it will be a second bridge where a couple more stations will be. The first module in the center is the helm, the other in the center, the "fancy-ish" looking chair is the captain's post. The control panel to the right of the captains chair is the communications post, and the one to the left is the security/tactical station, where Tso will be posted. The doors behind it lead to the lift, and the space I put behind that will be where the situation room will be located, where we discuss tactics I suppose regarding to missions and such.

It's not really visible, but on the walls of the lift, it says "BRIDGE" I might only get the bridge, situation room, and captains quarters done...but I aspire to map out each and every level of the ships interior. If I could do that...I would be the happiest Research & Development scientist around. And I'm working on those reports for you.

It's actually a group of programs and a definition library that have to be set up just right in order for it to work. First I had to set up my LDraw library, where all the information for lego pieces is kept. Then It installed all my applications. I use MLCad to edit the model, LDView to take a look at it in real time. When I'm happy with it and choose to post it up, I convert the .ldr file into a .pov by using L3P, alongside of a visual interface add-on L3PAO which makes it easier to convert, and I convert the file to .pov and that's what makes the ultra cool, semi-realistic one that I just posted. I suggest taking a look at www.ldraw.org if you want to start on this one. It takes lots of patience though, for it can get frustrating at times using the fine grid placement option.
