heart This is attempt #1, and for my first choice of character heart

a) Basic Data
Username: Keppit
IC Protector Name: Keppit
Sin Name: Ravi
Sin Element: Ant

b)Advanced Data
Protector Personality: She's got a good heart, but she's not a pretty woman... so she's sometimes more reserved than she should be, and she's people shy... but she's an excellent mother who did a great job helping her kids over most of thier life milestones and problems. She's almost 30 and has three five full gorwn children and and infant and a child left at home still.
Sin Personality: adoption form says that he hates silence, has four arms, and is very curious with a pet cricket.
Sin Plans: Adventurer strikes my mind, but so far all my characters seem to take me on thier journeys and I like it that way. ^_^

Prompt #: "Prompt Two"
(Mock) Ability Quest!
Curiousity has always been your forte, and your guardian is running out of ways to keep you amused. S/he has tried music, games, puzzles, books, and even video games, but all you seem to do is keep taking them apart. Your guardian needs to take you out to a toy store, in which you need to pick out four items that you think will keep you amused, and then decide which of these is your favourite.
Response: Ravi sighed and flicked the small cat plush on the nose with one of his fingers. As he looked over all the toys on the floor in front of him, he wasn't at all surpirsed to discover that none of them held his interest in the least. Juju chirped from the corner of a child's block and Ravi took it to heart. "What..." He glowered at the cricket in front of him for a second, not expecting an answer. Finally Ravi scooped Juju up with a final sigh and went off in search of his mother.

"Mooooooooaaaahhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm!" He whined as he came up behind Keppit, the woman who had adopted him when he had been just an infant. "Mom, I'm bored!" He threw himself at her leg and clung to it with a frown... he was rather small for a child, but stronger than most kids his age. So he was careful not to push or pull on her but just to cling, that way she might somehow know how very very bored he was. In fact he threw a look up at her with eyes as wide and pathetic as he could get them.

"Ravi..." Keppit reached down and pulled the child from her leg, lifting him up onto the counter in front of her. "Ravi you told me this an hour ago and I got out all Jen and Gus's old toys for you..."

"Yeah, but they're babies toys, Mom... they're so boring." Juju chirped from his pocket almost in agreement.

Keppit stopped and thought a moment before nodding slowly. "I guess you could say that. I'll bet Jen took all the older toys when Jim came around." She nodded again, suddenly deciding something. "You know what kiddo? You deserve a toy or two of your own. What do you say to a trip to the market? Huh?"

"Yeah!" Ravi suddenly yelled in excitement. Truth be told, anything that allowed him to get out of the house was alright by him. He leapt off the counter and ran to tell his brother Nate that they were off to the store.
~~
Ravi walked through the aisles looking at this toy and that toy... he already had three in his hands (and having four hands made that all the easier) and was now looking at a art stencil kit on the shelf in front of him. As he was debating picking it up, Nate came running up behind him.

"Ravi... Ravi... Mom says we can each get one toy!" He held up two toys, a dump truck with a working front end and a dinosaur painted an ugly shade of green. "should I get the truck or this dinosaur?"

"Um..." Ravi glanced at the truck... he had something very similar in one of his own hands... "Get the truck." That way he could put his truck back and share Nate's with him... but then there was the choice between these other three items. An artist's stencil kit, a little robot that walked at the end of a remote controlled wire, and a small set of legos. He looked up at Nate, placed his own truck back on the shelf and picked up the stencil kit. "Nate, if you get the truck then we can share it, and then you can help me pick one of these and we can share that too."

Nate smiled and stepped forward looking at each toy for a moment before pointing to the legos. "With those you can build whatever you want. You like to built things right?" Ravi nodded, he was constantly stacking cushions in the living room into forts and the like. "We could even build a garage for this dump truck."

"And we can put the legos in the back of the truck and drive them around!" Nate was right! Ravi did want the legos... he wanted to built things... and legos sounded quite fun.

"C'mon" Nate grabbed his brother's hand "let's go get Mom and tell her we've decided.

And with that Ravi ran off behind Nate excited and feeling like adventure was at hand.... all four of them.

Free Prompt Response: "NAAAATTTEEEE!" Ravi leaned out of the treehouse in the backyard and looked around the yard for his brother, but there was no sign of the blue haired child. He sighed and climbed out the window onto the porch and then started down the ladder. He was halfway down the ladder when nate popped out of the bushes below the treehouse.

"Mom's gonna be mad that you're in Saty's room." He pointed accusingly up at the little ant boy and waggled a skinny little human finger at him. "You know you're not supposed to be up there!"

Ravi rolled his eyes and skittered down the rest of the ladder, landing garcefully at Nate's feet. They were almost the same age, but Nate was just a little bit taller than Ravi. He poked him in the chest and smiled. "Don't worry... I just wanted to see how Aunt Ranald had built it. i wasn't going through Saty's stuff." Though he'd wanted to, to be honest. Satou was the grown up child who had dissapeared, and so while both Ravi and Nate had heard all about her from their older brothers *all moved out of the house now* they'd never seen or met this sister of theirs. She was like a ledgend, and Ravi found himself unbelievably curious to find out who she was... where she was. he poked Nate again. "I'm gonna go up again too." Nate frowned at him and he felt the need to defend himself. "like I said, I just want to look at how it's made." Then he turned and started climbing the ladder again without waiting for Nate's response.

A second later he heard a sigh and the short thuds of Nate's feet hitting the rungs of the ladder as he climbed up behind Ravi. Moment's later the two boys were standing on the porch looking at the door. Ravi already knew that it was locked from when he'd tried to get in before, so it came as no surprise when Nate couldn't turn the knob. "Wait... I'll get it." He turned and grabbed the window ledge and climbed gracefully over and into the small house. As Ravi pulled the door open from the inside, he found a slate faced Nate on the other side. "Got it." He grinned at the blue haired human boy.

"I saw..." Nate walked stonily into the room and looked around. It wasn't the first time the two boys had been in Saty's tree house but it was always an adventure... that's just how it had to be. "Now lets look at the building and get down..."

But Ravi just turned and looked over the room. It wasn't glamerous or anything, just a bed a desk and several shelves... there were journals and books on the shelves... and that's what interested Ravi. "Hey look." He walked over and picked up a tattered looking red journal and opened it the first page, ignoring the protests from Nate. "It says Satou Sable Pippin... Hey I thought..." And then he startled as he realized that Nate was standing right behind him peering down into the journal over his shoulder. He spared a grin for his brother and went on. "I thought that her last name was Kalhoun like the rest of us..."

Nate frowned and took the journal out of Ravi's hands. "It is... at least it was." He flipped a couple of pages reading a few lines every once in a while... "don't want to be here... hate that Keppit thing... want to leave... miss mom and Dahhre..." He frowned deeper and handed the book back to Ravi. "I bet this was written right after Mom adopted her and it looks like she didn't want to be adopted."

Ravi frowned as well. "Who wouldn't like it here?" Ravi had no probems with Keppit and really enjoyed spending time with Nate and their mother.

"mom adopted both Gus and Satou when they were almost teens, so they could remember their other familes... Gus says his first mother wasn't nice, but I think Satou's family just couldn't keep her... so she was pushed into this family whether she wanted it or not... " He sighed. "Ravi... you like Mom right?"

Ravi patted Nate on the shoulder. "yeah... I think it's great. I wouldn't have any other mother, and I'm even willing to share her with you." He grinned at his brother and pushed him over. Nate was obviously worried by the fact that Satou hadn't liked it here in Keppit's house, and being Keppit's only biological child, Ravi supposed Nate had a right to feel slighted, but Satou wasn't here anymore and Keppit treated all her children the same...

"Booooyyyyyysssss!" Keppit's voice came ringing through the woods, and it was a matter of mere seconds before both boys were scrambling out of the tree house and down the ladder trying not to get caught where they weren't supposed to be.

heart This is attempt #2, and for my second choice of character heart

a) Basic Data
Username: Keppit
IC Protector Name: Keppit
Sin Name: Kuraine
Sin Element: Pepper

b)Advanced Data
Protector Personality: She's got a good heart, but she's not a pretty woman... so she's sometimes more reserved than she should be, and she's people shy... but she's an excellent mother who did a great job helping her kids over most of thier life milestones and problems. She's almost 30 and has three five full gorwn children and and infant and a child left at home still.
Sin Personality: The papers say she has none, so I'm thinking *pepper* she's mildly abrasive and has a tendancy to come across a little strong. She also jumps to conclusions way too quickly.
Sin Plans: She'd probably start off a little abrasive and quick to offend so that she might take better control of her situation, but in order to that she might progress as a character she'll get over that with the help of a few friends and a couple 'personal journeys'. However, it seems that no matter how many times I plan a character out, they all seem to take me on their journeys and I like it that way. ^_^

c)Writing
Prompt #: "Prompt Four"
In the Gaian world, the majority of children are adopted and raised by guardians rather than their own parents. All of the Sin'aeis are the same, and you know they live with their guardians. The problem is, however, you're different. For some reason your original protector couldn't keep you, and you had to be rehomed. How does this make you feel when you find out? (In the case of those old enough to know, how does this make you feel now?)
Response: Kuraine stomped her little yellow shoes into the livingroom and glared over at Keppit. She'd been practicing this glare in the mirror for the last ten minutes, and by the look on Keppit's face she was pretty sure that she'd hit the mark.

"What's wrong?" The woman she'd called mother leaned forward and frowned over at Kuraine. When the girl didn't answer right away Keppit reached out and gently pulled her closer to the sofa where the woman was sitting. "Kuri, what's wrong?"

Kuraine wrinkled up her nose as she leaned back away from Keppit, held upright still by the pull of Keppit's hands on her arms. "Ravi says you're not my Mom... that I had to come and live here cause my first mom didn't want me... he said you probably didn't even love me." Then her scowl turned into a sob as the realization of what she'd said hit home... But Keppit just laughed in relief and pulled the child into a hug, then up into her lap.

"Kuri, of course I love you! I've told you that before." Kuraine stiffled a sob in response. "Kuri, your first mom couldn't take care of you... it's not that she didn't want you, in fact I'm certain that she loved you just as much as I do. She wanted you to have a wonderful life, with everything that you deserve." she cuddled Kuraine a little tighter. "Things like ice cream whenever you want it, and brothers and sisters to play with. Trips to the playground, and to the toy store."

Kuraine pulled back, wiped a tear off her face and looked up at Keppit. "Can we go to the playground today?"

Keppit laughed again. "Sure... can Nate and Charlie come too?"

Kuraine's little nose wrinkled up in thought for a second then she shrugged her shoulders. "Sure. They're fun to throw sand at." Then she laughed.

Keppit gave her one last hug, and then deposited the child on the floor so she could stand up. "You know what Kiddo? Next time you see Ravi, you can tell him that not only does your Mom love you, but you've got at least three people who love you soooo much, that they'll do anything to make sure you're happy.

Kuraine just smiled and threaded her little fingers into Keppit's hand.

Free Prompt Response: Kuraine jumped out of the tree and landed squarely on Nate's back. The sheer weight of the girl caused the two of them to tumble down the side of the hill and into the stream at the base. She rolled off of her brother and dug her hands into the mud under her. As Nate pulled himself to his feet with a scowl, Kuraine hauled up two fistfulls of mud and flung them at her scowling brother. "You're a Jerk!" The first clump hit him square in the chest and knocked him off balance, but the second smacked right into his face and sent him tumbling backwards into the clear water. Kuraine let out a screeching laugh and launched herself at him again before he could get up. The weight of her knees hitting his chest pushed him under the water and aided him by washing the mud from his eyes. Nate came up fighting for air and his dignity.

"I'm a..." He panted to catch his breath a second... "Jerk? What about you?" Being bigger than her it was easy enough for him to push her off and turn his own weight against her. She howled in protest as he pined her to the riverbed letting only her head stay above the shallow water. Her little arms waved in protest splashing water all over the place as she coughed and sputtered whenever the water splashed up into her face. "Lemme up you jerk!"

"Listen!" He put his knees on her stomach and sat on her, then used his own hands to hold hers still. "I didn't do it on purpose! And I already said that I was sorry! If anyone's a jerk it's you!" He pushed her away from him suddenly and sprang to his feet. He ran up the narrow bank so that he was far enough away and watched Kuraine spit water and mud out so that she could talk clearly. As he watched he saw that she wasn't getting up to attack him, so he stepped closer. As he did that he saw that she was crying. "Kuri... I'm sorry, I really am."

"She... she was my favourite doll." she raised two muddy fists to her face and tried to wipe away her tears, but all she suceeded in doing was wiping more mud onto her face.

Nate felt a pang of guilt rack through him and, with a sigh, he plodded back into the water. He was already soaked so he figured that he might as well get in and help her out. He pulled up the lower corner of his outer shirt and used it to wipe the mud off her face, then started to wipe her hands clean.

"She was... " she sniffed... "She my favourite, Nate."

"It's ok. We'll fix her. I'll help." He sighed and promised himself that he'd never borrow any of Kuri's toys again for any purpose, especially not science experiments. "She'll be good as new."

"No..." Kuri sniffed again and allowed Nate to help her to her feet. "She'll never be the same again.

Sin Personality: The papers say An has none, so I'm thinking *banana* An's probably loving in an almost sickeningly mushy way wink to anyone and everyone that comes along.
Sin Plans: None right now. I've never played a hermaphrodite character and thus don't really know how to plan for it. Besides... it seems that no matter how many times I plan a character out, they all seem to take me on their journeys and I like it that way. ^_^

Response: An'nexia walked solemnly into the living room and crawled up into Keppit's lap without a word. It was several minutes before the usually patient child spoke to Keppit. "You're not my real mom are you." It wasn't a question, and Keppit just frowned above him as she cuddled him to her still.

"I'm not your biological Mom, and I'm not your first Mom... But I'm your mom now..." She frowned and pulled the Banana child away from her so she could look into his face. "Anex, I'm your real mom. I love you very much."

His little face squashed in a smile and he grinned up at her. "I know you love me, but I know too, that you're not my real Mom. You're Nate's real Mom."

she frowed at him for a seond. "An'nexia, just because Nate's my biological child, doesn't mean that I love him anymore than I love you. I love you both the very same... and that means that I'm as much your real Mom as Nate's." She looked down at him, almost willing him to understand through her facial expression.

He frowned up at her thinking for a second, and then slowly broke out into a smile. "Ok." He threw his little body at her toro again and hugged her tightly. "I'm really glad that you're my Mom."

Free Prompt Response: Keppit sat on the sofa with the new baby cradled in her arms. The child was just staring up at her with big goggly eyes, and Keppit was taking delight in every inch of the baby. In fact she was so abosrbed in An'nexia that she didn't hear Charlie pad up behind her, and she startled when the little Rabbit girl put her hand on Kep's shoulder.

"Charlie... oh, child you scared me." Keppit smiled at the girl and motioned to the sofa with her chin. "You want to see An'nexia?"

The girl nodded solemnly and crawly deftly up over the back of the couch, settling into the cushions beside the woman and baby. "Thass a strange name, gran." The rabbit girl pursed her lips and frowned down at the baby. "It is a boy or a girl?"

"well" Keppit paused, trying to figure the easiest way to explain it to Charlie. "An'nexia's both a boy and a girl." Keppit glanced at her grandaughter's face only to see a surprised look of confusion. "An'nexia's what we call a hermaphrodite, it means that someone has both the ability to be both a boy and a girl." Keppit smiled as Charlie nodded slowly.

"So..." Her little eyebrows knitted in thought... "Is An'nexia my Uncle or my Aunt?"

To that Keppit just laughed and smiled again. "It means that we call An'nexia, An'nexia until An'nexia is old enough to tell use what pronoun to use."

"You mean... you mean the baby gets to choose!?!" She seemed both affronted and amused by the concept, and it made Keppit laugh.

"You want to hold your new relative, Charlie?"

Charlie shook her head side to side and jumped up beside Keppit on the sofa. "Maybe laters. I gots things to do." Then she climbed up onto the back of the sofa and kissed Keppit on the cheek. "By Gran. See you later."

"You be nice to Nate now!" Keppit called after the retreating child with a laugh. Then she returned her attentiom back to An'nexia. "You'll be wonderful... and I'm sure you'll fit in just fine here... even if it takes a little while."

"Response form"
Username: Keppit
Guardian Name: Gus Kalhoun (jivvin/human)
Guardian's Occupation or major pastime: He works at the casino as a blackjack dealer. He hates it...

Hiccup's Name: Charlize (Charlie)
Gender: Female
Spirit: Mercenary soldier... born in 1914 in a small european-esque country (whatever the Gaia early 1900's equivilent is), she was orphaned at a very early age. While traveling in the city she was picked up around the age of four by people looking for cheap labor, and taken to a camp with several other children under the pretense of being 'taken care of'. She spent four more years here before several of the older children managed to escape taking some of the healthier younger children with them. She was lucky enough to be a part of that group, however it soon became apparent that there really was no place in the cities surrounding for homeless children no matter how skilled. That's why, as a group, they fell into habit's of pick pocketing and pety theft in order to survive from day to day. Over the next few years, traveling from city to city, several of the children had been picked up by the authories on account of minimal crimes, and a few had even died of untreated illness. One day, Charlie (now about 14) was stopped by a man and offered an buisiness deal of sorts... if she delivered a message for him he'd pay her a LOT of money. She agreed, and ended up being the key factor in a murder by becoming an unknowing distraction and getting the front door opened. The man to whom the message was supposed to be delivered was killed right before her eyes, and it was something that she remembered for the rest of her life. Withing the next year her troup of childhood friends and homeless children had left the city they had resided in most recently and were traveling across country. It became apparent that they were a skilled troupe with only each other for a family, and no real reason to hold on to the lesser things. When they came across a small border dispute acorss two counties, it seemed only natrual to the troupe to hire themselves out as mercenaries . They were successful and made the decision to continue their Merc ways across the country. From the time Charlie was 15 til the time she was 24 she traveled with the group fighting where needed and doing what was asked of her. Her friends came to know her as the most loyal, and the most suicidal of the entire group. They could all count on her to lay down her life in exchange for theirs, and so she was trusted and loved... It came as a shock and deep wound to the troupe when Charlie was killed (soon after she turned 24) accidentally and stupidly in a pre-emptive strike against the current enemy. It was the dead of winter, with snow all across the ground covering the footprints of the enemy. She was tracking with her troupe over the thin ledge of a cliff when the ledge gave way, plummeting Charlie to her death below. Among her troup left on the ledge staring down into the cavern was her fiancee, Oscar Fallon. The last thing she ever saw before a tree branch struck her in the back of the head was the horror on his face as he watched, and the last thing that flew through her mind was his voice asking her to be careful out there.
Vessel: Snowshoe Hare...

Why that spirit?: Her spirit has been wandering the woodlands through many a dimension for a long time now, not sure what had happened and basically in an almost permanent state of shock. She'd already let go of her former life and was just 'existing' on flash memories and feelings of loss. She was ready to be 'moved on'.
Why that vessel?: The pure white rabbit blends in almost perfectly with the snow, and changes colour with the season. It's warm and never cold, it's quiet and not abrasive... It doesn't attack other animals for whatever reason, only in self deffense. Charlie needed a rest from combat, she needed a place to hide, and she needed to feel warm and cozy... even if it was only in her own skin.

Three physical attributes and how they relate to the spirit and/or vessel: White fur, possibly with brown or orange spots allow her to be kept warm... a feeling that she always longed for ever since wandering the streets as a young girl. Thin and lanky, both a tribute to the rabbit and to a woman who's been long in the field. And Long ears, obviously rabbit and also to keep an good sense of what's going on around her... vigilance is key to survival.
Two prominent Seasonal attributes: Withdrawn, Loyal.

Prompt Response: Prompt 3: Charlie brushed her lanky fingers across her ears as she stared up at Gus. She wasn't really listening to him, because once he started ranting there was no stopping him. She consoled herself with the promise that if it had been her he had been ranting about then she would listen... but no. Her 'father' was ranting about something to do with the casino. It was a short time later that he was off ranting to himself in the kitchen area, so she excused herself and left through the front door.

She was bored and tired... and for the life of her she couldn't think of anything to do. Normally right now she'd go and pester Gus into playing with her, but that was an obvious no go. She wandered around the backyard for a little while before she found herself standing at the bottom steps of Satou's treehouse. ... Satou's treehouse.... She sighed and took a deep breath before looking around to make sure that no-one was watching, then she quickly shot up the ladder to the door and hurried inside before anyone could see her. Suddenly she let out the breath that she didn't know she'd been holding and looked around her. As far as bedrooms went, this one was rather sparse. There was a simple bed in one corner with a tattered old quilt and a pillow on it, and in another corner there was an old wooden desk with a few general desk things on it. There was also a wooden chest with a padlock on it and a shelf that was full of old books and journals.

Slowly, Charlie crawled over to the window and raised her head up just enough so that her eyes and nose peeked over the sil. Finally satisfied that no-one had seen her come up her she stood and closed the curtain. She knew she wasn't allowed up here... No-one was. But that didn't stop it from being her favourite place in the whole world. There was something about it... something dark and mysterious. She'd never met Satou... no one of the younger kids had. Gus knew her, but that's because she and Gus were brother and sister from the same crate whatever that meant. She rolled a hand in a circle as if warding off another of Gus's long and drawn out lessons, and moved herself over to the shelves. She'd been in here many many times, and knew what everything was and where it could be found. The only place she hadn't looked was in the trunk, but that was because the trunk had a padlock on it. The journals on the desk were all written out in painstakinly deft jivvin handwritting, and if read in sequence they told the story of a strong, and willfull, deeply confused young jivviness who stuggled to discover who she was. Charlie wasn't sure how the story had ended simply because Satou had taken the last few journals with her wherever it was she had gone... but she'd been gone for years and years... No-one had seen or heard from her. That was the strangest part... and possibly the most fascinating to Charlie. The room belonging to the older sister than neither she nor her other siblings had ever met, but that her grandma, father and uncles would never talk about... It was obvious that everyone assumed Satou dead on whatever adventure she'd left for, but Charlie didn't think so. She really had no proof for that, but somehow the thought that Satou was but a lost soul in the grand scheme of things made her heart warm a little. She loved to sneak up here, sit on the bed, read the journals and imagine what might have happened to Satou, and then devise grand stories about how she'd battle all enemies to come home again all these years later.

Charlie ran her fingers over the spines of the books on the shelf and then moved on to the desk. The things on the desk were not really important... except for the peice of paper in the middle. It was a list, simply written in black ink, with a hand writting so much more legible than the old journals that Charlie supposed it must have been written after Satou had turned 'fourther', as her father put it. The list said 'Talk to Soyala, appologize to Mom, Pack, and Stop by Jack's house' ... down at the bottom there was a small doodle of a crown on a long earred dog's head. Charlie frowned down at the peice of paper. As far as last regret's and notes went this one left a lot to be desired. Her mind raced suddenly with a feeling that she couldn't quite grasp, something about love and left behind... something about last regrets and remorse... something about that one last letter... and then it was gone almost as fast as it had come. She sighed and picked up the list off the desk, bringing it closer to her face silently willing it to give her something... anything.

Then the door to the treehouse flew open and she saw her father standing there looking... mad. She stammered something unintelligible and quickly put the letter back down onto the desk.

Gus frowned down on her and shook his head slowly. "Charlize, how many times do you need to be told. Grandma doesn't want anyone in Satou's room." She risked glancing up at his face and saw that he wasn't looking at her, he was looking at the room. She also noticed that he looked more sad than mad, so she took this chance to appologize.

"A'hm sorry Dad. I guess... I guess I just wanted to see it. Like maybe I'd get to know what Satou was like."

He just sighed and pointed her out the door. She complied and he didn't speak again until they were both standing at the bottom of the ladder. "Well Satou didn't like people in her room. And anyway Grandma doesn't want anyone in there either, so that's what we do." He turned to her and glared down at her. "You know that. Don't expect to avoid a punishment, because you broke a well known house rule." He seemed satisfied when she nodded solemnly up at him and started to walk back towards the house. She had only taken a few steps before Gus was walking right along side of her, with his hand on her shoulder. "You know... I bet you and Saty would have gotten along great."

Charlie grinned suddenly in spite of her impending punishment. She was like Satou. Sure she'd never met the Jivviness, but Satou was Charlie's hero... and here her father, and Saty's older brother, thought that they were alike. It warmed her little rabbity heart for a few moments, until she caught Nate and Ravi gigling at her from the bushes. So that was how Gus had known where to look for her... Ah well. She was a clever child... Nate and Ravi would soon find themselves wishing that they weren't such tattle tales.
