I'll tell you my story about Jacob..because I'm odd like that.
I received New Moon a few months early(Advanced Readers Copy) and was flipping through it quoting random things to tease people on the Lexicon Chat. I then quote his, "Bella, hun, are you alright?" Or whatever his quote like that is.
To me...I thought, "OMG THIS IS 3/4 THROUGH THE BOOK THEY CANNOT BE TOGETHER I HATE YOU JACOB." Yes. I was totally NoObish in my thoughts. Ever since then I despised him with all my being.
Then I told Stephenie this. She got mad at me. xD Explained to me that 'hun' was natural(which I don't see him saying it..but it's her character! Not mine! I was just set on hating him.).
Then I told her I hadn't read the things that explain about Jacob. She told me to read them. I thought a moment...a few moments..a few more moments...and came to the relization, "POOR BOY! He's like a helpless teen I have to deal with every day at school! -huggleglomptacklekiss- Don't worry! I'll show you love!"
So yeah. Because of Stephenie I have found that little spot in my heart for him. heart

KiraLight uh...yeah..I thought Jake was awesome!! it was Edward who was starting to piss me off..
Same here. Although everybody keeps saying it's the epilogue that shines a bad light on Jacob, I'm the other way around. I respected the way Edward thanked him, but when Bella was trying to say a proper goodbye and hug Jake, I started getting pissed off when Edward was all, "Don't. He can't control himself." Umm, excuse me? Give the boy a little credit. Bella had enough faith in you to believe you wouldn't kill her. Let her at least hug the poor boy, damnit.
But, of course, who can stay angry at Edward for very long. I reread Twilight the next day and fell in love all over again rolleyes
@Raezyn: Haha, no way xD So you got to witness Stephenie's reaction to Jacob-hating in person, eh? Interesting. Ever since I read the Q&A that went on at the BYU Midwinter Symposium, I was so impressed by how stongly Stephenie loves the pack. I have to admit, though, her comment about how we'll see if people hate Jacob after Eclipse scared the living daylights out of me...If she offs him, I'm gonna cry buckets swimming pools of tears.

He's not that bad, but he's annoying. I was in tears when Bella thought about making him her "Paris." He's an okay character, and I liked him a lot at first, but I kinda hope that Meyer kills him off...

Jacob I think is my least favorite character out of the entire series so far. At certain times I just wanted to slap him for how he was acting...at the end of New Moon, I wanted to punch him in the face.

I think it was cool that he helped Bella try to get back to normal. I didn't hate him at all, personally, but I can see how he would be intruding. Even though he was partially only helping with the motorcycles to be with Bella because he figured Edward was out of the way. Hold on a moment while I flip to my absolute favorite sentence in the history of favorite sentences in the world: "But it had been days since I'd heard Edward's voice. That was probably part of the problem. I was addicted to the sound of my delusions. It made things worse if I went too long without them. Jumping off a cliff was sure to remedy that situation." --New Moon, pg. 352
I think it's interesting how Bella hears Edward's voice when she's in danger, and then puts herself in danger to hear his voice, and all of that leads to her meeting Jacob and pulling out of the depression. But at the same time, if she hadn't heard his voice, she might have never seen him again, so by putting herself in danger she sort of started this self-fulfilling prophecy. If she'd never seen the bikes, Edward would've died. Is one way of looking at it. I swear that made more sense in my head. n.n;

Course, that's just my thinking. Stephenie Meyer is actually very attached and defensive over Jacob, one of the things I like about her. I don't see her killing him off anytime soon. I guess I don't see why people don't like Jacob. "He needs to learn that Bella and Edward are together forever." Well, they are. So, why is everyone afraid of Jacob? Although, I do understand where it can get annoying, but at the same time it creates drama, and I love drama as long as it's in pages or on a screen. Love triangles suck though. Trust me, I know. stare

Compulsive Heartbraker I'm sorry, Jacob was nice at the beggining, But in New Moon he was really starting to tick me off. By the end of it, I really wished that he hadn't exsisted. Anybody in Bella's like the wasn't Edward, just seemed so hanus. They weren't even able to stay friends!
What do you think? well would you be able to stay friends with the love of your life, while watching her risk her life by being in love with your "mortal" enemy?

I actually love New Moon the most because of Jacob! he was like a breath of fresh air for bella and for any other readers. Where she seems to have so much fun with him and feel more relaxed yet at the same time feeling warmth from it (and its not JUST because he's a werewolf)
I really do like Jacob and the thought of him been Paired off with Bella. Cause I was still fuming with what Edward did >.< grr! he's starting to piss me off...

I never really hated Jacob, as he was an interesting and important character to see developing. I liked the fact that Bella had met someone new other than Edward; although Edward was a terrific character, he did get a bit tedious after a while.

I heart Jacob! But I love Edward more.
I was very happy with the way he helped Bella through, but I started to get annoyed when his crush really started showing. It's not really that I see him as a threat to Edward and Bella's relationship, it's just that he was beginning to seem like Mike had in Twilight when Bella and Edward first started getting closer. Then the theatre scene pissed me off for some reason. And of course the epilogue (the motorcycle thing) really made me mad.
On the other hand, Edward pissed me off simply by leaving like he did. I cried and wanted to jump into the story and beat Edward over the head repeatedly while cursing at him. 0.0;;
I love them both anyway. I have a very difficult time hating characters in novels or shows that I like. (Even the villians are difficult for me to hate entirely.)

Jacob is okay. We need a character like him I guess to make the story more interesting. BUT, he is starting to annoy me. He was nice and everything but now...grr... neutral

In New Moon, he truely pissed me off, I can't stand him now. He is trying to keep the main couple apart and he got Bella into even more trouble with the motercycle, right now, he should have just been thinking at the end and not jumping to conclusions.
