A sigh of relief following the switch to a tingly-black screen. Note to self. Pick movie himself next time. He was the guru of all the classic movies worth watching afterall, even if he couldn't remember much of the plot or any 'unimportant' details like that.

He slouched back in his seat, covetting the small bag of jerky at his side though he had strangely lost his appetite for the time being. Odd for a shark, really. Thanks to the iguana girl's broad question, Alec found that his previous thoughts were again creeping back into his consciousness. Was this going to drive him mad until he gathered the guts to voice them? It surely seemed so from his distinct inability to banish them from his mind. Slowly he began nodding his head, still staring blankly at the blank tv, as if offering a generic response to a conversation that wasn't even happening.

In a sudden jerk of his torso, the boy spun his head around to face Amaya with a calm facade that was barely hiding strained nerves. "SO." He began, barely pausing. "I'm thinkin' o' movin' teh a lake duplex. Like Aw'n. By the'lake."

"Oh?" Amaya blinked and looked over at him, head jerking and tilting in a rather comical way so she could see him properly. "That's good. It should be easier for you to move around and stuff." It was hard to realize that he hadn't finished changing yet... it seemed so long ago when she first met him on the beach.

That was when he had a human face, human hair, ... and a pair of legs. It was sad to think back to what he used to be and then to notice how much he had changed in appearance when you yourself had given up the hope of ever being fully human again. It had seemed to long ago that she even went without a tail, had skin, or even hair.

... But this body still felt wrong to her. Wrong and ugly. Monstrous.

She consciously ran her long fingers across her head, the rubbery spikes laying flat under the weight like she had stolen Alec's mohawk. She was starting to think about it too much, something that happened frequently. It was even evident on the girl's features, but she didn't let it last very long. Her throat cleared.

"So when ya movin' out?"

Alec hadn't even listened to what she was saying. He was trying hard to focus, not to be distracted by her movements or the look in her eye, but it wasn't working. He wasn't finished. He had to finish his thought.

"Come wi' me?" He found himself blurting out, so much so that he interrupted her entirely. "A' mean, a'm no' g'nneh lie n' seh a' won't be lonleh theh by meself." Before he could go on spilling over his inner thoughts, he had to collect his thoughts so his words wouldn't let him down. "Bu' thas no' th'thing. Th'thing is..." He paused again, placing webbed fingertips on his wedge-like and receded chin. "A' think i'-d be good." Unsure if she'd understand his insufficiency to explain himself well enough, he waited.

The iguana girl blinked and stared, then blinked again. He had just asked... if she would move in with him? But... they weren't even dating yet! Or ever. She didn't know. It took her a few moments of just looking at him to finally get her brain together.

"Ah, yeah!" She head bobbed rapidly. Okay, too enthusiastic. "I mean, yeah... that'd be okay." She tried again, her head bobbing again, albeit slowly up and down. Amaya still seemed a little shocked and flustered at the same time. Wasn't moving in with someone a big thing?

The corners of the sharkboy's downturned mouth crimped into a smile, a heavy weight lifting from his shoulders. Not only had he successfully gotten that off his chest but she had agreed! The idea he'd been dreading for so long didn't seem scary at all now that it was ensured that someone close to him would be with him all the way. He already began to feel excited as if planning some ellaborate sleepover with no limitations. "Realleh?" He repeated, as if he'd actually entertained the idea that Amaya would've plainly refused. Awkwardly enough he had. From the way she'd been acting recently, well, it was best to prepare oneself for upset just in case.

"A'll ask fo' a heat lamp fo' ye, and neh ai-condit'n'in, and plants, and a wateh slide..." He trailed off as he poked a finger one after the other, trying to recall all the entertaining additions he'd imagined they could add to make the place homey. Never did he consider the drastic step in their relationship that he was initiating, it just never really occurred to him.

Amaya gave another head bob in confirmation. She took a deep breath to calm herself down and to remind herself that all Alec wanted was a friend to stay with him so he wasn't lonely adjusting to his new home. He didn't like her more than a friend, that much was clear. It made half of her heart leap in excitement and the other sink down into the pit of her stomach.

"Water slide...?" The girl's concentration was broke at the thought of such a thing inside a room. She had never seen the inside of the lake duplexes before. "Inside?"

Alec couldn't help but be amused by her head-bobbing, the natural movement hardly ever being witnessed. It almost felt that the girl held too strongly to the fibers of her humanity but how could he blame her? After all, he'd attacked as many as three or more people in a blood-driven rage... maybe he needed a bit more of her kind of strength.

"Ya!" The boy smirked, making hand gestures to depict the vision in his head. He hadn't seen an aquatic duplex himself either, basing entirely off of Awen's words. "Theh's a pool tha'leads from th'lake RIGH' INSIDE! We coul' 'ave pool partehs!" Now he was just being silly but he couldn't help it at all. This was a good thing, things were going to be great from now on.

"Ohhh." Amaya laughed, trying to imagine a pool being indoors. She supposed that was the point of aquatic duplexes, to make water to land movement as easy as possible once the poor boy lost his legs.

"That'll be fun." She smiled the awkward reptilian smile she rarely gave. "And as long as the room is warm I don't mind staying with you. Though Donner will have to come too." She reminded.

Alec's smile dropped but only for a short moment, as it returned in a full-force smirk. "Oh righ', th'dog." The teen snickered playfully and sighed. "Fiiiine. Bu' its gonneh be like a zoo n' theh!" And of course, that idea didn't even phase him. Grumpy dog? Nothing compared to his own special duplex where everything he ever needed was in arm's reach.

"A'll call t'morreh." He was still smilnig bright as he pulled his wheelchair closer, already shifting on the couch in preparation for the switch as he quickly added. "Bu' ye don' afteh leave righ' aweh. A' gotteh tell pehple o' theh'll neveh know wheh we gon' to, ay? Gotteh tell Nita and... Zach too."

Zach. He really had to go apologize to that big guy. He didn't deserve what he got from the crazy shark.

With a heavy thump he landed in his uncomfy wheelchair seat with a little arm muscle, removing the brakes and spinning about-face to wait for Amaya.

Amaya nodded and stood up as he began shifting into his wheelchair. The leftovers were gathered up, along with the pillows and blankets that had been brought with them. "I'll probably just leave a note on my door. You're normally the only one that drops by anyway." She shrugged and then waited for him to lead the way out.

He wasn't surprised that Amaya would admit to having no friends though it didn't mean he believed it. There were bound to be people who cared about her, had heard about her at least. Was it that she didn't care for them anymore?

The teen reached over and piled the linen atop his lap as they were when he'd arrived and once he was sure everything was had, he turned for the door. "A'll spread th'word anehwehs. Mehbeh theh'll come f'tea..." He mumbled as he left to no one in particular this time.

"Yeah, I will too if I happen to run into anyone." Amaya said, head bobbing along with his nod as she followed him out. The two walked along together until it was time to split up again, heading to their own duplexes.
