I heard from a friend that Nightmare Before Christmas was put on the stage once..... and never again, not legally anyway. Disney won't give the rights to it.

Anyway, I think Suicide Kings would make a brilliant musical! With the same cast, even! rofl

"What could we do... There has to be a way to solve thiiiiiis! Oh no... what's that sound... Ira has come home... We're doomed to be found..."

"What are you doing in my lovely home, what are you doing in my HOUSE! What would happen if my parents came home... You must keep quiet as a mouse... And OH, who is this man? Tyed up in Daddy's favorite chair... Hooked up to an IV... Tell me why is he THEEEERRREEE??? I'm angry, I'm outraged, how dare you scoff! I cannot believe you had the nerve to do such a hor--YOU CUT HIS ******** FINGER OFFFFFFFFFF?!?!?!??!?!!"

Yep, that's a great song. That's the biggest number in the show, "Ira's Surprise".

I actually adapted the entire movie for the stage last summer. I sent a request to Burton Himself for his blessing to go ahead with the project. He said no because he technically doesn't own it. Damn you, Disney corperation!!!! gonk You've killed my dream....

Maybe his new animated movie, COrpse Bride, will be suitable for stage production. I was kind of peeved when they had some of Nightmare Before Christmas'playing during the preview, but it does look promising.

Yeah, but that's just because it's not fully composed yet. It kinda confused me at first, too. I really REALLY can't wait for that movie. With any luck it'll be a musical. Of course, Johnny Depp will have a different singing voice (PLEASE be Danny Elfman!). The man can't sing, I'm sorry.

OOH! The Tain(prounounced kind of like "sign", but with a lisp): The Cattle Raid of Cooley (Bardic Irish legend) would make an amazing play! Of course, a play would kind of defeat the wonder of the story and be offensive to the bardic spirit, completely leaving be the fact that some of the scenes MIGHT be a tad bit difficult to pull off.

I guess I should have expected it. The greatness that is Depp can't do everything (though I had been waiting for Johnny to sing in something cry )

*can't stop laughing* You guys come up with the best stuff. I'd definitely like to see The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Silence of the Lambs (yes, it wuold be rather gory, plus the whole "I can smell your c**t" thing.) But Hannibal Lecter singing would be hillarious in my book. My friends Maddie and Kim can dance just like Buffalo Bill. xd

I heard that there is a Silence of the Lambs musical called "Silence!"

He might be able to sing... There's an early 90's musical movie called "Crybaby" that's a 50s spoof. His charachter sings in that (though I'm not sure whether or not it's him). I haven't seen the whole thing, but my sister's watched it a good 10 times. I'm not sure whether that's because she loves Johnny, or because it's a good movie, or because VH1 and WE trade off playing it all month.

O. M. G. That is the Funniest thing I've heard in a very long time! I listened to "It Puts the Lotion on its Skin" and promptly fell off my chair laughing.

I want Star Wars and Lord of the Rings to be re done as musicals. I mean "The Phantom Menace of the Opera" sounds cool right? or combine Lord of the Dance and Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings is actually currently being produced as a musical. But it should definatly not be combined with anything else. It's perfect the way it is, albeit lengthy. Not to mention the fact that changing too much without a really good reason would be putting yourself at risk of getting lynched by LotR Super-fanatics the world over. Peter Jackson doesn't know how close he came to getting himself assassinated.

I'd kill to see that one!

What about Memoirs of a Geisha? I know they're making the movie, but a musical could be cool...
