Earako digested what Chath said about stopping magic, finding it interesting but ultimately useless. It explained nothing about stopping the kind of magic she was worried about, only the sort like he was doing. Well, perhaps. Perhaps even mind reading could be interrupted by a swift kick in the shins. It was worth keeping in mind at least.
As she listened him, she subconciously adjusted her stance to something more natural for her. Still a battle stance, but one that didn't exactly mimic Chath's own. A good sign, that she was relaxed enough to begin to make her own adjustments.
His explination was slightly confusing, if only because it left her wondering what she was supposed to be watching, his hands, his eyes, or both at once. Frowning for a moment, she decided that the last option was best, and not too difficult. Earako was good at reading people. Perhaps reading a persons movements would be a lot like reading a persons moods. If that was the case, she might be able to get the hang of this.
As to the instinct part, well, she only hoped she had those. Earako's instincts leanded toward running or flying flat out away from any possible battle, but that wasn't exactly an option at the moment. If she fled flat out, then all of Chath's hard work would be for nothing.
"Ready."

"Great!" Chath was really enjoying himself. If there was anything he liked better was to show off his skills and moves. Helping others was a close second to his favorite things to do. Standing where he was about 4 feet away he looked to the balls of water in his hands and then tried to focus his mental energies so he could send one of the balls towards her.
When he had first started doing this, the best he could do was actually 'throw' it. Like a baseball player, he had gotten better since then, but if he got too tired he would certianly go back to that method, it didn't use as much energy as this did.
The ball of water swireled in his hand, his body seemed fairly tense, his left hand started to shake with the effort of staying still and then a flick the ball of water rose and with a flick of his fingers it sped off towards Earako. He was aiming for somethign simple, her mid section. Or stomache. Basically straight towards her. Lucky her she could see the water, he wasn't so lucky when he had to learn with air magic. Invisible things flying at him.

There were probably a couple proper responses. Earako could have attempted to block her stomach. She could have attempted to dodge. But no. It wasn't that she didn't see the attack coming. It wasn't even that she didn't know where it was going. She at least had a general idea.
The wings came up, and wrapped frantically around her body, and the girl gave a brief startled yelp, one that luckily didn't go into her higher ranges. It was, at the very least, not painful to hear.
The water ball splashed harmlessly against her dark wings. She shook them dry, and gave Chath a guilty look. "Erm... sorry, I was startled."
Chath had wanted to see her react on instinct, and so he had. When acting on instinct, she did her best to hide, and baring any other protection, she'd used her wings. Good for staying dry, but certainly not very useful against an actual attacker.
"I won't do it again." She promised, falling back into the stance Chath had shown her, and folding her wings forcefully. "I'll block with my hands."

Chath was a bit surprised as her wings came out and wrapped around herself. He gave her a 'dont' worry about it look', but now certianly had a better understanding of where she stood when it came to combat. This ...may be harder than it looked...
"well...you did block it." He said trying to stay positive, "But just keep in mind that your wings are your most important advantage, your wings allow flight, and if they were damaged you would lose your greatest advanatage." He commented casually trying not to sound too repremanding.
"But practice makes perfect right? Lets try that again." Chath gave another smile and then focused on the water ball splitting it into two smaller ones. more energy but hey this was good practice for him as well.
This time his hand trembling he sent it to the same area, same speed and everything. Not that he thought he could do much more, trying to stay focused on two things at once, but he woud see. With a flick of his finger it was off.

It was Chath's talk of the importance of her wings that did it. That, and the fact that she wasn't sure how blocking with her hands might help. A hit on her hands was still a hit, right? And Earako, in her meekness, was convinced that the point of this lesson was learning how not to be hit. At least, that's what she wanted to get from it.
So, when the water ball came toward her this time, she opened her wings yet again. But instead of using them as a shield she jumped, the leap carrying her slightly sideways and up, as her wings took that weight and carried her higher. The water hit her, nonetheless, but instead of hitting her in the stomach, it grazed the toes of her shoes. Not a complete victory perhaps, but it was certainly something. At least she'd tried something productive.
Allowing herself to land, she looked down at her foot in slight disappointment. "It would have been better had I tucked my legs, I think."

Chath beamed. OK so this is what they could work on. Dodging. "That was great! You reacted much better this time." He continued on a positive note nodding his head enthusiastically.
"If you get tired let me know." he added as he wiped some sweat off his brow. The sun was out, though clouds dotted the sky, he was starting to get too warm.
"Always plan ahead, you took flight and tried to move out of the way, up into the air was a good idea since most of your foes won't be able to follow you. But keep in mind magic can be sent into the air, so it wouldn't be a permanant haven and I imagine that flying takes a bit out of you." He continued, just like this magic was taking a lot out of him. Perhaps once done this little excercise they could rest? He may have too...
"Now for this last one do you want to do it from the air or ground?" he asked wanting to help further her interesting skills.

Earako smiled at the praise as she refolded her wings and listened to Chath. She too, did not do well in sunlight, and all her flying around was starting to drain her. Dedication kept her from announcing she was tired outright, but when he announced that they were on their last trial, she looked relieved. They could do this some other time, maybe. At night.
"It's true, I can't fly for all that long." She admitted. But that was okay. Soon, she'd be able to ride Vimber, and they'd dance in the sky. She was excited about that.
"I'd rather stay on the ground. I'm a bit tired." She admitted, falling once again into the stance he'd taught her. It was becoming more familiar, and she moved into it more easily, worn out enough to have lost most of the tenseness that had made her seem so on edge earlier. Despite having not done all that well, she was feeling good about her accomplishments, and thus forgetting the stresses of earlier in the day.
"I'm ready."

The longer he worked with Earako the more he wanted to help her. In any way possible, even if it meant that he would get in the way to protect her.
"I am sure with practice your flights will become longer." he continued and then readied his last water ball. "After this lets take a break, dry you off and get some drinking water." He said with a laugh and then watched as she setteled into the stance with much more ease and grace.
"See I knew you would get the hang of it, that is the perfect stance." He said and then tilted his head just noticing the fact that Keir had been staring at Vimber almost this entire time he hoped that....Keir wouldn't cause any trouble...last thing he needed was to have his dragon cause a fight.
"Alright here it comes!" he said and then raising the last water ball to eye level flicked it. The sphere of water sored straight and then lowered towards her right shoulder.

Earako nodded in acceptance of Chath's praise, as her usual curtsy would throw her out of the exact stance that she was holding. Still, it was good te hear some positive reinforcement when it came to fighting. She just wasn't good at it. Well, maybe she wasn't as terrible as she thought. Maybe she was just so convinced that she was terrible, that it was making her terrible. Maybe. Then again, she thought, maybe she just needed to figure out what she was doing. And Chath was helping with that.
But back to the point of the excercise. She focused on Chath, watching his eyes, his hands, and preparing for the next attack. Had it gone where she had expected, it would have been a parfect dodge. But for whatever reason, Earako judged it as heading not toward her shoulder, but toward her face. And it was that prediction that caused her to first flinch, and then fall into a much deeper crouch, with the expectation that the ball would miss her if she was low enough. And because she was so low, it did miss her. Just... not quite in the way she had planned. Still. Even if there might have been more conservative ways to dodge it, she did dodge it.
"Oh!" A startled little noise, as she stood back up again.
Vimber, for her part, was paying little attention to anyone at this point, even her Special. When she'd become sure that the fight was going to be purely outside the realm of the physical, she had lost interest. Now she preened her wings, and waited for things to end.

Chath smiled and felt a bit dizzy letting that last ball go was enough to make him want to sit down, thankgoodness he called for a break. Clapping his hands together he moved towards his bag, pulled out a towel, though he wasn't really sure if Earako needed it and a botteled water.
He walked over and handed them both to her his grin still plastered on his face. "Congrats, you managed to dodge! If you practice you can only get better. Practice with Vimber if you like, I practice my skills with Keir all the time." He stated and then nodded his head eagerly. Making sure she had the two items he walked back over to the bench and sat heavily down, he went through the bag once more and pulled out another bottle water and unscrewed the lid.
"Come sit with me, it will help cool you down if you sit."

Practice with Vimber? She'd never thought of that, and wasn't entirely sure that the dragon in question would be in favor of such an idea. But Da'... Da' and Savius and 'rain, they would all be happy to. She would ask, at least. It couldn't hurt to ask.
With a smile, she accepted the bottled water and the towel, though she showed more interest in the former. She opened it after a brief struggle with the plastic cap, and took a grateful drink from it.
"My thanks." She said, as she took a seat as Chath had indicated. She felt tired now, rather like she felt after practicing with her bow, but perhaps more so. She could often be stationary when shooting. And there was a stillness to working by oneself that working with a partner didn't offer. The meditative calm was missing, replaced by a comfortable feeling of comeradory. Both, Earako felt, were nice.
"That was useful." She stated, after taking another drink of her water. Her delicate mouth turned upward in a smile, as she began to unwind from the recent trials. "You're a skilled teacher, my friend."

Chath's cheeks flushed weither from the heat or from her compliment who could tell. Unscrewing the cap to his own bottle he took a drink, a long one. He then looked up to the sky, the clouds were thinning, the day would prove to be a warm one.
"That is probably enough for one day, though I would be more than happy to.." he trailed off his eyes moving over to her and he gave a bit of a silly grin. "Well to help you again. though if you want to do anything else today just name it." He didn't really want to leave just yet, but he knew any more combat would be out of the question.
THe water was helping with his dehydration levels and he really wanted to douse himself with the liquid instead, but didn't want to risk getting Earako wet.

Earako was absently smoothing her shirt. As the excitement of the fight wore off, she began to realize what a state she was in. Her shoe was wet, her shirt was sweaty and she was wearing pants. It was actually kind of embarassing, when she took the time to think about it. Not that battled clothes didn't have their place, but they just weren't becoming.
"I would love another chance to train with you," she said, not willing to let her distraction destroy her usually flawless manners. Still, the brief casual pose she had taken was gone, she now sat straight and elegant. "And I'm sure we'll get a chance to do other things as well."
She stood then, and for all that she wasn't wearing her skirts, she moved as if she were, with the grace of a lady. "But for now, I think I must be going. I had fun, though."
At that, she stepped closer to Chath, to give the boy a brief, friendly hug and a kiss on the cheek. Stepping back, she did another one of those half curtsies that she made do with when she wasn't wearing skirts. "Until next time, Sir."

Chath stood to say goodbye and was a bit speechless after recieving the hug and the kiss on his cheek. His first kiss, you could say he was stunned, but he smiled anyway, his usual friendly smile.
"Anytime Princess, I will give you my number so you can get ahold of me when you want to." He explained and though he didn't sound flustered his movements betrayed him as he fumbeled in his bag and found a peice of paper and a pencil and jote his number down.
Turning he offered the paper to Earako his hand trembling slightly. "Y..you can call me anytime..weither to practice or..other things." He stated sounding a bit nervuos, "Remember to practice." He said feeling that this converstation and the day ...had come to an end.
