Of course Amaya's first reaction was to jump and press herself closely to Alec's wheelchair, dragging Donner along. But after that everything seemed to happen so fast. A tumbling white blur and then a huge crash into a duplex... a jeep sticking out of it.
... Wh-... What...?
Like Alec, Amaya could only stare.

Jamal lay in a crumpled heap, bleeding freely from the scrapes on his legs and now the gash across his forehead, unmoving simply because the inability to draw breath was enough to render him stunned. That and the agony of being thrown from a jeep wasn't exactly the best feeling sensation either. He did manage a pained groan though and flexed his knees closer to his chest.

It is perhaps aggressive foreshadowing to Anatoli's animal fate when he was just inches away from becoming roadkill.
The jeep sped by him fast, and not too far away from him at all when Jamal squealed past. He stumbled back a few paces, reaching up to roughly hold onto his fedora in hopes that it won't blow off.
It's perhaps instinct that makes him wave his fist in the air and yell, "Watch where ya goin', ya crazy bastad!" ...
... But the moment those words left his mouth, Jamal had crashed into the duplex. The opossum man lowered his arm and looked on with bewilderment, letting his jaw hang lack. He hesitantly takes a few steps forward, reaching for the knife under his waistband.
"Um. I meant that!"

The noise drew Freddie's attention, making her forget about trying to creep stealthily through the village. There were too damn many people out and about, and once she heard the screeching of tires she understood why. Curiosity overrode her own self-consciousness, making her draw closer to the mess. And what a mess it was...
"Holy s**t," she gasped, taking in the jeep that had slammed into the duplex, and then back to the figure that had jumped clear. She knew him, even without having met the psycho tiger in person before.
"Hey, stay away from him, goddammit!" she yelled at Rachel, thinking the girl was very likely to get her face clawed off even after whatever damage he'd taken. It was hard to vocalize her concern beyond that.

The pained groan was all it took to get Rachel to rush closer and hopefully help the tigerman. She might be standoffish, but she wasn't going to let someone bleed to death of there was something she could do about it.
As she neared Jamal, Rachel saw blood everywhere, unaware that some of it was not from his wounds. She kneeled down next to him, trying to assess the situation and help him if she could. At least if he groaned, he was breathing, and that was a good sign.
"Hello?" she said tenatively, trying to see if he was concious enough to respond to her.
Just then she heard a voice from behind her yelling at her to keep away from the crumpled figure. She whirled to see who it was, only to see that person that had tormented her to the point of tears, before her change. They looked different, granted, but she could tell it was the same person.
"Why?" she asked. "He needs help!"

"....Duck." The boy finished, jaw hanging open in utter disbelief. He couldn't help but notice he'd gained some weight on his wheelchair as well, the iguana girl clinging on for dear life didn't exactly make him quick to react.
"Wha' th' fookin' 'ell-" He muttered, shark-jaw still hanging but now at least he had gained the ability to speak with it. Even though there were people crowding the body now in concern, the situation was everything but calm.
... and he'd watched enough movies to predict an outcome for the wreckage rammed into the duplex. The hood (what was left of it, anyways) was streaming furiously with smoke that was growing darker by the minute. "AY! GE' AWEH FROM TH' JEEP!" He flailed an arm, all at once refusing to leave his safe spot a distance from the carnage. If the thing was going to blow, he refused to be a casualty and worsy yet, if the lab's guards came a-runnin' there was no way he'd let anyone lay the blame on an innocent person.

Amaya was confused, her long fingers coming up up curl over her long snout as she stared at the wreckage. No coherent thought could well up in her mind at the moment, everything frozen in the moment.
Yellow eyes went from Jamal, to Rachel, or Freddie, to Anatoli, then back to Alec. 'Wh-what if someone's inside!?" She panicked, but didn't move to act herself.

Jamal groaned again, eyes fluttering open now as breath started to come easier. He heard a voice...many in fact now, and moved to push himself onto his side. His automatic response was a hiss as he caught sight of a small crowd in the immediate area and the fur on his neck bristled. He pushed himself onto his knees, wincing, but giving a very distinct expression of "back off" to judge by the exposed canines and the wild-eyed, slightly paniced back and forth glancing from face to face. He was disoriented.
The jeep hissed and spat thick smoke now from the hood...it was only a matter of time until fire broke out.

Freddie grunted in frustration at Rachel's response. If anything it was good if tiger boy caught his, especially after all that time she'd spent trudging in the jungle after him- back before everything went wrong.
"He's a ********' psycho killer you idjit!" She yelled back, gesturing frantically. "Leave him!"

"Someone tell me what's goin' on heeah and if this kinda thing is normal," Anatoli demanded, getting closer to the crowd gathering around the smoking jeep. He gives a nervous glance to whoever's closest to him, curling his upper lip and motioning to the jeep, teeth exposed. "That thing ain't gonna explode like in tha movies, is it?"
Green eyes wandered over to the duplex which the jeep had plowed into. "Hope nobody's in there..."

Although he'd never ventured there, Alec knew full-well who's duplex that was. As if in comedic cartoon, he hoped he'd see the wolfman spring from the the wrecked duplex unscathed even though he knew it wasn't possible. Praying to God, he hoped he hadn't been home at the time. His hands gripped the rims of his wheelchair but he couldn't will it to move. He felt helpless, reduced to a worried onlooker.
His warning seemed to go unheeded, which infuriated him more.

Rachel turned away from Freddie and back to Jamal, when she heard movement, and a distinct hiss. When she saw his expression, she backed away a few paces. He had the distinct look of an animal caught in a trap, like the ones she had tried to help near her home when she was younger. Things were always more dangerous when they were scared. It didn't help that all this was punctuated by Freddie's warning and the worsening smoke billowing from the jeep.
"So we're just to leave him and let him die with those wounds?" Rachel asked her. The whale girl wasn't certain how actually life-threatening Jamal's wounds were, but they certainly looked like they needed attention.

Jamal glared anxiously at the assembling crowd. s**t, he had to get out of here.
He shot Freddie a particularly murderous snarl as he tried to get on all fours, the remains of his shirt splitting into rags and falling to the ground. He didn't appreciate the other islander's assessment of his morals, even if they were right for the most part. ...didn't this ingrateful a** realize just what Jamal was doing? Did she LIKE being a subject of the staff?
He wiped at the head wound angrily. This didn't go how he had planned.

"Get away from it!" Amaya cried to the possum-man, flailing her arms before her attention was direct to the very large girl and the furry man she was trying to help.
"... Jamal?" She asked hesitantly.

The man's growl worried her. As did the blood that he wiped away from the wound on his head. She wanted to help him, but she also didn't want to be mauled by those dangerous looking teeth and claws. She turned as the iguana girl behind her, spoke, addressing the wounded islander. Her voice sounded much more concerned than had Freddie's.
"You know him?" Rachel asked the iguana girl. "Maybe he'd let you help him..."
