((The other one, yanno, with the pool tables and foosball and arcade games. The entertainment room is somewhere near...I think.))
"Right..." Was all he said, once again, since he knew not what else to say. However, after some time in silence, a question burned its way through his skull and through his mouth before he knew what he was doing.
"What's it like?"

"Is what like what?" he said as he got seated into the Podracer game. Gawd he's always loved this one. "You gotta be more specific. Being a critter? Transforming? Lunch menu? Pecking order?"

Rick took a deep breath. He felt slightly ashamed asking such a thing, but his sense or curiosity overrode that, for once.
"Being what you are."

"What? Thorny Devil? Awsome? A trench coat wearer? You're still not being specific enough." He said with a grin. "Nah, I get you. It's odd at first but you get used to it. Ain't as bad as many would think."

"Is that so..." He muttered, bending over to plan his next shot. Due to the first one going awry, it did little more than sidle it up next to another ball. Not including the cue ball, there were three balls remaining, and he circled the table several times, judging the angles of deflection, until he came to his decision. With serpentine accuracy, he shot the cue ball, deflecting the adjacent one into the hole. It then banked off the side and nicked one that was hugging the side, nudging that one into its nearest pocket. Lastly, it hit the very last ball straight on, blasting it into the side pocket.
Game.
He leaned against his stick as he crossed one of his legs over the other, letting out a sigh. Whether it was relief or helplessness was indeterminable.

"my god I've got such mad skills!" yelled Marty as he came in both first and second place in the podracer game. He had situated himself squarely between two of the machines and through great thought and timing, he managed to lead both to victory.
"Yo! Newbie who's name I have yet to be told, I challenge you to a podrace. By the way, I'm Marty." he said while extending a clawed hand in Rick's general direction.

Rick tenderly shook the clawed hand, thankful for the gloves that he nearly always wore. He nodded and took up his place at the other machine. How long had it been since he played this ancient thing? He forced himself to remember the boosting trick as he waited for the game to start.
