kyonkyon-chan SirSquintus kyonkyon-chan SirSquintus kyonkyon-chan Its fun messing around with other people's instruments. One of my bestfriends play the flutes and she cleaned it and I tried playing a note..it was hilarious ^_^ xD! I tried a flute once, but I could not make a sound on it. Weird! And yeah.. Messing around with other instruments is fun. It was funny because, we were suppose to be practicing for honor band and we got distracted xD! Hahaha.. Wasting time? yup smile That's always fun. ^_~

I've only ever played the bass long-term, but I started on Soprano and have had my hands on an Eb, a contrabass, and contralto. I had to stand up to play the contrabass when I tried the first time though XD

Mangolyn I've only ever played the bass long-term, but I started on Soprano and have had my hands on an Eb, a contrabass, and contralto. I had to stand up to play the contrabass when I tried the first time though XD Oh, cool. Same with me. Except, I didn't start on soprano.

kilala0461 is the soprano the Bb clarinet? I've always wanted to play the Eb clarinet it seems so awsome. Yes. The soprano clarinet is the Bb clarinet.

But something like only five of them have been made in the world,
Good luck finding them. Not the contra-bass clarinet. There are several of those around the globe. The one you're reffering to is the octo-contralto clarinet. Mr. Leblanc only made five of those. But the rarest is the octo-contra-bass clarinet. This one is only one of a kind.

I've played four--Bb (of course), A, bass clarinet, and contrabass.
A and Bb are so similar that anyone who plays a Bb can just pick it up and go.
Though I've been playing my standard (Bb) clarinet for 8 years now and I focus on it, I played contrabass clarinet in All-County(Suffolk County-NY) last year. IT OWNS. : D
The best part about contrabass is that it is affectionately known as "The Plumbing".
