Im gunna come at this from an unbiased pov, though it seems biased anyway.
Both game series are amazing, Miyamoto, Sakaguchi, the great game makers of the early 90s created these legacies for us. Zelda started much like FF 1 and to be honest they were about on par with each other. The only thing Squaresoft did differently then Nintendo was take it to the next level of engagement. While the Zeldas remained fun and almost carefree, the FF's evolved into incredibly thought out storylines that caused the player to think and feel on more levels then just action adventure save the princess (Though later Zeldas have definately improved on this).
I love to play the Zelda games but to me they are easily set down, while if Im in the midst of playing through an FF I get very involved and just -have- to complete it to see how the story progresses.
To me, the FF series is more invaluable. Its favorite.

I've played both and thier both great games, but when it really comes down to it I'd have to go with Final Fantasy. The characters in my opinion are much better.

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm somewhat of a FF fangirl. The Zelda games are great (I really enjoy watching my boy play 'em) but nothing can top FF. I've loved each FF game I've played (except X-2, what were you thinking, Square!?) and usually spend more time exploring than actually doing the storyline, which is usually far more indepth than some Zelda ones.

I'd say I like final Fantasy more, beacuse as far as I'm concerned, it ranks higher then the Zelda games. To me the Zelda games look all alike, it's the same thing over and over, get items, recue Zelda.
Final Fantasy has amazing charcters and surroundings and different stories each time. That's just my opinnion.

I really like the Final Fantasy series over Zelda. In Zelda...some of the things do not make sense to me. (just my opinion) In the Final Fantasy series, you can actually follow the story line and see where you are going and what you are doing.
The battle system makes more sense on the FF series. Zelda's I dont understand one bit. (Mind you I still have the orginial Zelda game for Nintendo back from about 10+ years ago) The newer Zelda's are coming out with better battle systems, but they still dont make sense to me.

I love both but I have to go with Final Fantasy on this one. I've played more FF games and I just love the FF games more. The characters, the storylines, the music...everything about the games are great. Granted some are better than others but I just enjoy the whole franchise as a whole.
